  • Wow! Amazing!

"What a beautiful place. You never have to leave the house, everything's there. Green/blue Caribbean water with turtles, fishes, starfish right by the dock..few steps from the house. Beautiful sunset and sunrise everyday. The owner, Tom Jones was very helpful. Do bring bug spray, lots of bugs."

  • Secluded property in paradise

"We really enjoyed our time on Windermere Island. The house is very nice and the bedrooms are spacious! Each has access to a bathroom including the single twin bedroom. The living area is open and nice for enjoying family. The home is nicely furnished and had lots of books, games, snorkels, and fins. There were lots of beach towels as well. We hired a chef, Kaynell Scavella, to prepare our meals and she was delightful. We planned each meal in advance and the food was amazing! We all miss Kaynell and Pebbles and the conch fritters. You can take the pool chairs to the beach - but it's not easy. So, we rented beach chairs and extra kayaks. The double kayak at Hamilton House is very nice. However, it's not recommended that you use these at the beach in front of the house as the water is rough and not as smooth as the Savannah Sound. Bobbette's (caretaker for the home) husband was able to take these over to the sound where the waters are calm, beautiful, and full of sea turtles. We really enjoyed kayaking there each day and it's a short bike ride away. The beach is very private (I think we saw 3 families the entire week). The home is situated near other cottage like homes that flank each side of Hamilton house down towards the beach (not visible in the picture of the property). I was thankful that we had a car as there are so many beautiful places to explore on Eleuthera. We spent one morning at Oceanview Farm near Governor's Harbour riding horses next to the ocean. I highly recommend this if you love horses. It was a treat for the group. We also hired Donald (Eleuthera Tours) to take us out to the Marker Cays. We snorkeled and found lots of sea biscuits and conch shells there. The boat was very small, but it was very nice and perfect for our family. We rode our bikes each night over to a dock at the end of the street to watch the sunset each night which was our favorite way end to each day. The home has good wifi and we only had one power outage (which is very common in the Bahamas). Fortunately, it didn't last very long. We traveled over to Harbour Island ($5/per person) for the day which was really fun. We rented a golf cart ($50) there and enjoyed lobster quesadilla's at Sip Sip. Finally, Matthew Simon (property manager), was extremely responsive and provided lots tips and helpful information to make our vacation truly special. If you are looking for a secluded piece of paradise - you will enjoy Hamilton House."

  • PARADISE!!!

"My husband and I spent 9 days at Beside the Pointe and it was absolute paradise. The cottage exceeded our expectations and the owner takes excellent care of the house and the property. The cottage was very clean and looked like it was brand new. The gardens were spectacular with papayas, mangos, bananas, pineapples and beautiful flowers everywhere. The owner was so nice and helpful in all aspects of planning our trip and he has really thought of everything. He provided snorkeling gear, kayaks, a fishing spear, fish traps and even a cell phone. We loved the secluded outdoor shower with a view of the Caribbean. The screened in porch was an excellent spot to relax and read after a day of playing. The snorkeling at the Pointe was unbelievable and my husband caught fish for dinner almost every night. We never saw another person in the bay. The location and seclusion of the cottage and the spectacular views of the bay make me wish I was still there. We will definitely stay here again!"

  • Fantastic home for a large family stay on Spanish Wells Island

"We have lived in The Bahamas for over 45 years and recently discovered the delights of Spanish Wells - in a way we'd like to keep them secret but that seems a bit selfish. The island is easy to get to on The Bohengy fast ferry from Nassau. You can fly to North Eleuthera and then take a taxi followed by a water taxi but the ferry has always been 100% on time and reliable and we like being on the water. We've rented other homes on the island but, personally, I thought this was the best yet. We enjoyed the quiet location, it was good to relax in the green garden as a change from the beach. April and Tyson made us very welcome.....loved the Mango cake, April, thank you so much. The house is very well appointed with everything one could possibly need and more. The big bonus for us was the use of the 4 seater golf cart included in the price and even more the use of the kayaks, SUP and bikes. For me the early morning paddles were the highlight of our stay. The house is close to the bridge that goes over to Russell island...great for groups jumps and the water is so clear than when one of our sons lost his wedding ring jumping off he was able to find it in over 10 ft of water. It was always easy to communicate with the Newbolds and we appreciated April being on the dock to greet us when we arrived and leaving us a second golf car to use so we could all get back to the dock when it was time to leave. Spanish Wells is a place where leaving a golf cart with the key in it is not a problem, no one seems to worry at all about theft or anything else for that matter. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone looking for somewhere to stay on Spanish Wells."
