  • Lovely home with fabulous snorkeling

"We very much enjoyed our stay. The ocean is fabulous and very worth braving the access ladder needed to get to the water. Just an FYI here- it's much easier at high tide. The snorkeling was some of the best on the island-most days we didn't leave, instead just took the kayaks out exploring for more reefs, of which there are plenty. The house is clean and cool and lovely. They owners considerately leave large bottles of shampoo and conditioner, as well as soap, and there are seasonings included with the fully stocked kitchen. No need to pack beach towels, they are provided, as well as some beach chairs. A great place to stay."

  • Best ocean view we ever saw!

"This house is situated perfectly to take advantage of the amazing view and breezes. The grandchildren just loved going from the ocean to the pool. We had a wonderful time and the home is very accommodating to all needs. The housekeeper came in every day and we truly enjoyed being spoiled. Also, the club has friendly social people and is a nice night out. The perfect spot."

  • Fulfillment of a Quest!

"We stayed at Culmer Cottage 6 days/nights and enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing time in and around Tarpum Bay. The purpose of this trip was to re-visit one part of our honeymoon trip of 45 years ago! We found the village had changed some, but not completely; it still exudes the authentic culture of the Bahamian people, who are very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed walking around Tarpum Bay, talking with the locals, listening to the "fun and games" by the children outside even after dark. Where can you hear that anymore? That's something back in the 50s! Living in Culmer Cottage during this time was just as comfortable as it could be, with a full kitchen, interesting books to peruse, a patio to enjoy the view of the Bay. We were well taken care of with Kervin and Brenda, the caretakers, and they're adorable grandchildren. When we finally decided to visit Tarpum Bay, Lynn, the owner of the house, was an A+ Helper! She answered all our questions especially about travel. The communication between us was fairly often, either by email or phone, as we are not accomplished long-distance travelers and a little nervous about the flights. But she effectively put our minds at ease. We did not rent a car because neither my husband nor I felt comfortable driving on the "wrong side of the road"!! Even though we missed out on some great adventures because of that decision, our purpose for coming to Tarpum Bay was fulfilled, including a few quiet adventures anyway! So whatever your reason for reading this VRBO website, 'Experience Real Eleuthera', know that you're on the right path for a warm-weather vacation specially tailored for you. You won't be disappointed."

  • Paradise

"We love visiting all the beaches of Eleuthera but when we stay at Serenity Cove there really is no need to go anywhere else. It's truly paradise. The water is beautiful. The snorkeling is great. There are beautiful starfish as well as tropical fish right around the house and surrounding area. The marine life is incredible at times. The most beautiful sunset we've ever seen was at Serenity Cove. This last visit had a beautiful double rainbow in the middle of the day with the sun shining through the clouds. It was a vision to behold. I cannot express enough what a beautiful place this is and how nice the home is. The house is clean and beds are very comfortable. You won't want to leave once you're there!"
