  • A Special Trip Provided By Special People

"We spent 10 days in the Exumas on Windward in March. From the second we boarded Windward and met Ian and Lynn we knew this was going to be a wonderful experience. Windward is kept in tiptop condition. By showing us how to follow some simple practices, the cockpit and cabin are kept free of salt and the dampness that goes with it. Lynn is an amazing cook, no wait, chef! From the Portuguese breakfast, plantain muffins, gourmet salads, curry dishes and 5 star fresh fish dinners, it just doesn't get any better. Ian took us to fantastic snorkeling locations where the water clarity was truly amazing and the fish swam right into your mask. The highlight was on our last snorkel, where we had the chance to see a huge lobster, the tail could have fed a family of six, but it was safe in the land and sea park. Even when we had high, high winds that had us anchored in one spot for a few days, we had a great time playing games, reading, hiking and conversing with two wonderful people. We used one of those days to hire a water taxi and rental car to get to George Town so that we could go to the world famous Chat and Chill beach bar and meet some of Ian and Lynn's sailing friends, they were all wonderful and we had a great day. We went on this trip looking to experience the beauty of the Exumas and came away with that and much, much more."

  • Tough to get to but worth the trip

"The Exumas are a hidden gem for those who have never been. If you seek nightlife, this is not your spot but those who love the outdoors, boating and sandy beaches, this is a place for you. The Island has everything you need. Kayaks, paddle boards, snorkelling right off of the house. Gage was a great host and guide. He will help you set up anything you need. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and the like. Clearly, entertaining in the home is the norm. The only negative I would say is that the Wifi is spotty but I understand this is something they are working on. We went in July and it was HOT!"

  • Family Time in the Family Islands

"Our family of 7 stayed in the 4 bedroom purple house for two nights and then moved over to the 3 bedroom blue house for another two nights and we couldn't have been more pleased with either home. Ulrissa and Raymond were the perfect hosts, always available if needed but never intrusive. Both homes are well appointed and have views that will capture your heart and stay in your mind forever! We rented boats from Raymond on two days and made amazing family memories on both days. Iguana beach is a short 10 minute ride away from Black Point, and then its just another 10 minutes to Staniel Cay, (where we had a delicious lunch), from there Thunderball Grotto is a two minute trip and then on to swim with the pigs about 5 minutes from there and another 10 minutes to Compass Cay to swim with the nurse sharks. (remember to bring cash, Compass Cay charges $10 a head to land at their docks - worth every cent!) Our guide, "Magic" was perfect! He pointed out highlights along the way and was very courteous and accommodating - navigating the boat to ease our entry/exit and assisting in any way! We also rented a golf cart and would recommend exploring Black Point a bit more! This place is truly a paradise unspoiled by hustle and bustle and the Black Point locals are incredibly friendly and welcoming! Planning our next trip already!!!!"

  • Perfect! The house was clean and moteratley stocked.

"Just what we needed. A quite and beautiful Island. Definitely recommend the golf cart rental so you can explore the whole Island. If you are looking for internet I don't recommend; it was never strong enough-you can get it at the restaurants in town. We didn't have time for internet and enjoyed every minute of our vacation. If you are looking for smiling faces and beautiful scenery: Black Point is the place. Everyone on the Island is eager to see that you are enjoying your stay. Groceries are limited so we took ours from Nassau in coolers-it really would have been just as cheap to bring snacks and eat out in the 3 local restaurants! Groceries are very expenses. Over-all this is a vacation I will never forget! Absolutely Amazing!! If you stay in the Villas be sure to get Santos to be your guide for at least a day: We saw the iguanas', swam with the pigs, snorkeled in the cave were James Bond movie "Thunderbolt" was filmed (beautiful fish and coral) and got to pet the sharks!!! Black Point is a small island with big heart! Be sure to check with the local ladies to buy baskets, hats and homemade bread, especially the coconut bread-sooo good! Angela Gaskins"
