  • Off the Charts Amazing! Beautiful House in Perfect Location!

"My girlfriend and I stayed with two other couples in March, and couldn't possibly have had a better trip! The island itself is incredible, I've traveled all over the Caribbean and never seen anything like it. February point is the place to be if you are going to stay in Exuma, as it is a lovely gated community complete with a nice restaurant, docks, and swimming pools. SeaStar villa is an absolute gem. Right on the water, with a gorgeous wraparound porch so that you can wake up and step right outside to a beautiful view of the harbour, and have a few cocktails on the porch in the evening looking at the stars. To say it was picturesque does not do it justice. The house is well appointed and a significant step up from the typical beach rental I was used to. AC works great, marble floors make it easy to clean up any sand dragged in by your feet, the beds are comfy, and everything is very high end. One of the most fun parts of this vacation is renting a boat from Minns, and spend your days exploring! We didn't even need to rent a car- just get up and take the boat straight to the house to pick up lunch/snorkel gear/sunscreen/towels and go snorkeling, or go find an abandoned beach, or stop by what has to be the best beach bar in the world (maybe second to Soggy Dollar), the Chat n' Chill! On other trips I used to hire a guide every day for a different adventure- no need on this trip, we were entirely self sufficient. I will absolutely be returning, everything about this trip and the house was perfect, and suited the 6 of us very well. Highly recommend!!"

  • A Memory To Cherish

"This beautiful guest cottage is the subject of many wholly complimentary reviews which, without exception, extol its many virtues, together with those of the astonishingly beautiful surroundings within which it is set and, of course too, of Johanna, its owner who, without qualification, it was a privilege to meet. Without reservation, our entire stay was a joy and perfect in every respect and it is easy to endorse fully all of the treats that await you should you visit, that have been detailed in other reviews. What I would like to emphasise personally is the immediate and sustained feeling of friendship and welcome that we experienced from Johanna from the first hugs of greeting as we parked in the drive to the sad time of our departure two weeks later. This was wholly genuine. We were not simply tenants. We were more than guests even. We were made to feel wholeheartedly welcome, that our being there was a true pleasure for Johanna herself and, as such, that we were very much part of the "family". These personal qualities seemed to spread out around us, extend into the fabric of the property and its unique setting, and they gave us a holiday experience full of memories to cherish. Will be be back? No contest. Yes please! Terry & Georgia Cook (Isle of Wight, England)"

  • Great low key getaway

"This was the perfect mix of relaxation and activity. Swam or snorkeled most every day. Kayaked several times including out to Jolly Hall beach. Several visits to Stocking Island. Rented car for several days to get to Tropic of Cancer Beach, Santana's and ultimately back to airport. Several nights of rake and scrape music, appreciated that could find good food and music early as we are early to bed early to rise types. The day long excursion was well worth it. The owner, George was a pleasure to deal with. Unit was comfortable had everything we needed. Other than sleeping spent most of our time there drinking coffee on porch to watch the sunrise, or unwinding at the end of the day with a little Bahamian rum. Hideaways was very low key clean and friendly resort. There a three resorts in this little cove each with a restraunt and bar, so you can literally walk down the beach for dinner. We were also able to arrange for the water taxi to pick us up several times from the dock several hundred yards down the beach."

  • Great stay and would recommend this for families or couples

"House was ocean and beach front. Huge home with lots of room for many guest. Kitchen came with everything needed. We went as 2 couples and had more room then needed. Porch was always in the shade which was wonderful as great exuma gets hot very early in the day. Norm and his wife were helpful for everything we needed. The community pool was never busy as this is a quiet community to stay in. Home and community was spotless. Locals were amazing and not pushy. Prime island meats was our favourite grocery store. Had the best selection of meats and produce by far. He will deliver to your house too on the day of arrival or any other day of the week with 2 day notice. We went in rainy season, which means bugs. House had no bugs but the beaches do. Bring bug spray for the day and baby oil for the nights. Baby oil is thick so the night bugs can't get to your skin. The locals gave us this advise which helped us to enjoy sitting out on the porch at night which was our favourite thing to do! Sunsets were amazing and the ocean breeze and crashing waves is what made the evening so relaxing with friends. Another tip. BBQ is charcoal, we ended up cooking in the house as it was too time consuming for us. We went to sandals for 2 day passes it's$120 a day. Or golf was the same price. We also had a day trip with Robertson swimming with the pigs full day tour. Do not book through this guy. His tour was brutal and Unprofessionals. All of us were upset with the uncomfortable seating arrangements, I won't go into details but the whole day came with a list of stuff that should have never happen. Stocking island on our own was amazing. A must do when your there. Over all it was a fantastic trip and the house was amazing and perfect!!! Defiantly worth the money in the Great Exumas, as this is not a cheap island to go too, but worth every dollar."
