  • Old Bahama Bay Weekend Vacation

"OBB is a place we have frequented many times for weekend fishing trips from the East coast of Florida. As with all the units, they are very clean and comfortable, this unit though had one of the nicer views I had since we've stayed there. OBB is on the higher price tag of the West End options, but the amenities of OBB are far exceeding those of the other local options. Great spot for fishing trips, family vacations, and a relaxing vacation."

  • Great property

"Very nice accommodations for short of longer term stay. Unit is well maintained , offers a nice view of the ocean and has access to a large multi burner gas grill and picnic table on lower level facing beach. Small refrigerator can accommodate drinks and some frozen items for a longer stay. Coffee pot , dishes, knives , small toaster in unit also. In room safe to protect valuables if desired. Bed is very comfortable. TV in room with multi channels including access to US news programs including some cable channels. Owner very quick in responding and informative if you have questions. Have been to OBB several times, but not last in last 2 years. Nice to see the property is being improved from an already nice condition. More activities offered, and as always great sunsets, and a relaxing stop on your way by boat to other locations, or to enjoy fishing right out front."

  • Absolutely Wonderful

"Lets start from the very beginning... Diane was a pleasure to deal with. She was very responsive and informative, and made sure that every detail we would need pre-/post-arrival was covered. All we had to do was to let her know when we would be arriving. This brings us to Eric. He met us at the port and drove us first to the supermarket, then to the house. He pointed out various sites along the way and told us a little bit about the island. He also rented a car to us which was waiting at the house when we arrived. Next, Eric brought us into the house and walked us through, explaining anything that wasn't obvious and answering questions along the way. He showed us the whole house and said that if there were any issues, we could contact him and he would be right over. He lives a short walk away, but fortunately, we did not need his services. The porch spans the entire length of the house and has a 180 degree of the ocean, which is probably no more than 30 yards away from the house. We had breakfast and dinner on the porch and it was marvelous. Listening to the waves come in is very soothing and relaxing, which explains those awesome post-lunch naps I ended up taking on the lounge chairs. The porch is completely enclosed with a very fine mesh screen (floor to ceiling) which is a Godsend against the bugs, but almost invisible when looking out to the ocean. It's also situated so that there is always shade there and the breeze keeps it nice and cool. Sunsets are easier to view then sunrises, but both are equally as enjoyable. The beach itself is great. The best part is that it's all yours and there is no one there to disturb you. It's a little rocky at the shore line but there is plenty of sand to play in, and once you get in the water, you are literally swimming with the fish. We saw a great number of little fish swimming around. Nothing bigger than your hand, but it was still fun to see them dart around. The water was crystal clear and warm and the constant island breeze was very pleasant when you get out and the sun starts to warm you up. We had lunch/dinner at Old Bahama Bay (~5 mi. away). Once you tell them you are there to eat, they are more than happy to let you in. We took Bayshore Road on our trips back and caught the local fishermen preparing fresh conch right on the shore. Overall, this is a great house in a great location managed by great people. Absolutely no complaints or regrets. Do yourself a favor and rent this house."

  • Fantastic Vaca at OBB!

"Old Bahama Bay is a beautiful resort! The unit itself is lovely and my favorite part was sitting on the balcony, sipping cocktails and overlooking the beach and water. I think it's the best located unit at OBB--very close to the water and the building is at end which provides really nice views. We used the kitchen for some meals, which was convenient. If you want to actually cook a meal know that the cupboards only have dishes and glassware -- no spices, oil, etc. But there is a little market nearby to get what you need. We also enjoyed the restaurant on site. All of the people who work at OBB are fantastic--so friendly and helpful. We used the kayaks and paddle boards, which were really fun. The resort is super laid-back, so you just grab the equipment from the beach and off you go. We also rode the bikes, which were better than I expected--perfect for riding around the area. Owen, the owner, was really helpful at answering my questions before the trip. He gave us some great recommendations for restaurants that were outside OBB, but not too far away. The locals we met there will be what we remember most from our trip--great people! I would recommend renting a car at the airport (Brad's Rental Cars) because it's about a $70 cab ride each way, then you have flexibility to easily go other places too. Definitely recommend Owen's condo!"
