  • A perfect Christmas 2015

"We absolutely loved The Banyan Cottage! We were looking for an affordable house on HI and we loved this cedar, no frills cottage! My husband, 2 college aged daughters, and I couldn't have picked a better place for the price. Alexis, the house manager, answered all of our questions. The internet stopped working and she came over with a new router. Harbour Island is beautiful and the sand is actually pink. The first night we went to Ramora Bay and listened to calypso music and then ate at Aquapazza. It was so good and a beautiful setting! We ate at The Rock House for dinner one night and it was delicious. We also ate at Valentines which has an excellent view of the sunset and more affordable. We ate at Ma Ruby's twice and enjoyed meeting Dr. Lee and Ma Ruby! We also enjoyed the Cheeseburger in Paradise! Tiki Hut was fun if you like loud music. We had lunch at Sip Sip and The Blue Bar and it was expensive, but good. The Lobster Quesadilla at Sip Sip is excellent & basically fed all of us! We also ate down on Bay Street near the docks several times. Loved The Queen Conch- the conch salad is awesome as well as fried conch and fried lobster! The night life was pretty dismal Christmas week, but we heard the week after Christmas is hopping! We rented bikes, golf cart, and a boat one day from Michael's and we were very happy! Michael greeted us the day we arrived and escorted us to our cottage! One thing to know, the cottage did not have chairs, umbrella, or snorkeling gear. We were lucky because we had family that rented another house on the island that had plenty of chairs and their beach was right next to The Dunmore. Everything on Harbour Island, for the most part, is expensive. When you're packing, throw in coffee, cereal & snacks- you'll be glad you did! A case of beer is 50 bucks. Liquor is not bad- we found a liquor store on Bay Street that had great prices on wine! We had an excellent week in Harbour Island!"

  • Perfect!

"Chef Neff's suite was perfect for my vacation! Having a kitchen was not only an excellent way to save money, but it made my whole experience that much more relaxed. I didn't have to waste precious time debating where to go for coffee or how to satisfy the urge for a late night snack. The property is beautiful and well-cared for, very peaceful, and so close to the beach that I walked there and back sometimes a couple times a day. It was also the perfect balance between feeling cared and provided for, and given lots of privacy. I will definitely return!"

  • True Island Living

"My husband and I have been visiting Harbour Island for years and have stayed in numerous homes and hotels in the area. This trip to Harbour Island was a last minute decision and Touchstone Cottage was available. First of you will have a difficult time finding anything this close to the beach at this price. The cottage is sent back behind a dune from the beach surrounded by a lush tropical trees. The cottage does not sit alone it is a guest house to the main home on the property. With that said it is very private. The beach path is right out of the property and bam you will have the gorgeous Pink Sand beach to yourself. The cottage is located in the southern end of Harbour Island which is much more quiet which is what we prefer. When we entered the cottage we were very pleased , it was very clean , cute and comfortable a true island cottage. Spacious , had ceiling fans and wall unit Air Conditioning in every room. Personally we don't care how the AC comes out we just want it to be cool and it was. The kitchen had everything you need like coffee maker, fridge, cutlery ,plates etc. The owner will also supply you with a large jug of bottled water for drinking and making coffee. We especially liked having 2 separate bathrooms (his /hers) . One of the bedrooms has a queen bed and the other has 2 double beds. The homeowner will also have a basket of fresh beach towels for you. We loved staying at the cottage, for us it felt like we lived there. We would probably stay there again. The only thing i would recommend is getting a filter for the water that goes into the home. Unfortunately the Island water is not great. And when your wall AC goes out get some mini splits they are so economical, cold and quiet. So if you are looking for luxury, resort and people around you like the people that gave the poor rating this is not for you. But if you want to feel like you are living on the Island like a local , privacy, clean home, and have the beach to your self the Touchstone Cottage is for you."

  • Amazing

"We loved the property . It was so cosy and clean. It really felt like a home away from home !!! The house manager/housekeeper was always available to answer any questions about the house . This alone is so important while getting used to the in and outs of staying at a property for the first time . It was one of the most carefree holidays I have had on the island . The house was perfect for all our family needs ."
