  • Did not disappoint!

"This was our first time on the island. The folks managing the house could not have been more hospitable and helpful, arranging our transportation to and from the airport, including the ferry ride and golf cart rental, even asking what they could pre-stock the fridge with! The home is very well remodeled with lots of outlets, hooks to hang up bathing suits, plenty of towels and the beds are very firm and comfortable! Do be aware that there are other homes on either side and a vehicle repair shop behind it. Also public beach access next to the house as well which didn't give you complete privacy. Wifi and TV always worked without interruption. We took the Kayaks out everyday and paddled to the grassy reefs where we saw lots of conch, star fish and sand dollars. As for the island itself, it is a true fishing town. Everyone knows each other and are mostly related somehow. Tourism is not big here and while our wonderful hosts were great, a lot of folks aren't terribly friendly and somewhat cool. Buddha's Bar was great and if you go more than once, the locals will warm up to you, also includes a liquor store with a good selection of wines and beer as well. Our favorite restaurant was The Shipyard which had the most interesting menu and amazing view on the point. As for hoping to get an inexpensive lobster tail, was not the case! I ordered one from Wreckers (another decent restaurant) that cost $42 and couldn't have been more than 3 oz of meat. Be prepared to cook at the house and improvise with what is fresh from the local supermarket. To be clear YOU ARE ON AN ISLAND! They stock what they get shipped from Florida. In all, my husband and I had a great time together. You will see more stars at night than I could have imagined and silence has never been more golden. Truly a beautiful spot with water in every shade of blue."

  • looking for paradise? this is it!

"Howard Beach House could be called “Howard Beach Home” for all the comforts and coziness you’d want in a vacation home. The 6 of us stayed in ensuite rooms. The Master bedroom and bath was stunning. But the kitchen and family room overlooking the water was one of the things we most enjoyed (inside). A huge long table allowed for plenty of room to prepare and enjoy meals. And play monopoly:) And step outside to one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere. The cool waters were turquoise, shades of blues and greens. The inviting hammock and lounge chairs made for great relaxation. And the stretches of white sugary sands on both sides of us invited long walks down to the points on either end. We can definitely recommend this beautiful, comfortable, relaxing home right on the beach!"

  • Amazing!!!

"We could not have been happier with the rental home! The decor was contemporary and beautiful and the scenery was breath taking. We enjoyed coffee each morning and star gazing each night on the deck. Our group was amazed by how wonderful the property was and we have already begun planning our next stay there!"
