  • Did not disappoint!

"This was our first time on the island. The folks managing the house could not have been more hospitable and helpful, arranging our transportation to and from the airport, including the ferry ride and golf cart rental, even asking what they could pre-stock the fridge with! The home is very well remodeled with lots of outlets, hooks to hang up bathing suits, plenty of towels and the beds are very firm and comfortable! Do be aware that there are other homes on either side and a vehicle repair shop behind it. Also public beach access next to the house as well which didn't give you complete privacy. Wifi and TV always worked without interruption. We took the Kayaks out everyday and paddled to the grassy reefs where we saw lots of conch, star fish and sand dollars. As for the island itself, it is a true fishing town. Everyone knows each other and are mostly related somehow. Tourism is not big here and while our wonderful hosts were great, a lot of folks aren't terribly friendly and somewhat cool. Buddha's Bar was great and if you go more than once, the locals will warm up to you, also includes a liquor store with a good selection of wines and beer as well. Our favorite restaurant was The Shipyard which had the most interesting menu and amazing view on the point. As for hoping to get an inexpensive lobster tail, was not the case! I ordered one from Wreckers (another decent restaurant) that cost $42 and couldn't have been more than 3 oz of meat. Be prepared to cook at the house and improvise with what is fresh from the local supermarket. To be clear YOU ARE ON AN ISLAND! They stock what they get shipped from Florida. In all, my husband and I had a great time together. You will see more stars at night than I could have imagined and silence has never been more golden. Truly a beautiful spot with water in every shade of blue."

  • This beach house was perfect!!

"After spending the first leg of our vacation at Atlantis, this serene setting was perfection! Jody was super helpful in coordinating our arrival, departure and everything in between!! The cottage is both cozy and spacious. Our 2 family party fit perfectly with the kids in the "bunk" room and adults in the other 2 bedrooms. Having 3 bathrooms made it even easier to accomodate everyone. We found the deck divine and spent most of our time there or on the beach. The kids practically lived in the water from sun up to sun down. Having an outdoor shower and washer dryer was a huge bonus. We used the golf cart daily to explore and pick up supplies. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals and plenty of room to store food. The house sits back enough from the beach to have privacy on your deck but still have a view of the water. This cottage is perfect whether you are a couple or like us, 2 families. Also highly recommend you charter Jody's boat for some adventures on the water - we went out 3 times and those adventures were highlights of our trip!"

  • Pure Paradise!

"Just spent a wonderful week at this cottage. It has everything you need, the yard is shaded with a full view of the beach. With 2 picnic benches, a hammock and 3 lounge chairs. We made use of the Kayaks everyday and must have traveled the island in the golf cart 15 times. It is centrally located and right around the corner from Papa Scoops which is a nightly ritual! The beds are comfortable, shower pressure is great and the house has all you need to enjoy your stay. Daphne is a great host and makes you feel at home. The island feels surreal as you are so safe and no one locks their doors! The fishing and snorkeling are wonderful. I would recommend this home if you are visiting Spanish Wells. We feel that this island is a well kept secret, one we hope doesn't get out!"
