  • Sea Shell is a Jewel in the Crown

"We've now stayed at 4 places in Eleuthera, and looked at 5 or 6 more in person, and Sea Shell is one of our favorites. We weren't sure what Windermere Island would be like,--afraid it might feel cut off from Eleuthera proper, but that wasn't our experience at all. Yes, it was private, and we rarely saw other people on the beach, unlike at Twin Coves, for example, where we saw Spring Breakers as well as families and multiple couples. But it made going to Rock Sound (for the airport, groceries or the blue hole) & Tarpum Bay (for fresh fish) very easy. We especially loved the view from the decks and the living room. At night when we turned on the outside lights it was such a surprise to see the palm trees lit up. Dramatically beautiful! And...that beach! I loved walking the short but beautiful path to the beach. It was so alluring we didn't go many other places. The tides varied widely, so at low tide the beach was extremely wide. We had many excellent beach days, always with wind to keep the bugs away. A few days the wind was a bit much, but that meant sunning by the protected pool or going exploring. We went to Lighthouse Beach one day, and that was staggeringly beautiful. Not fair to compare Lighthouse Beach to anything else, but it is a commitment. Sea Shell's beach is a magnificent second. The house feels classic. First of all, it's clear that Sea Shell is lived in by real people. Things make sense, and it's not a generic rental with minimal attention to detail. The single-story design makes getting around very easy. Every room feels nearby but the bedroom layout affords lots of privacy. The master bedroom was extremely comfortable. Two of the bedrooms are accessed only from the outside, making them removed enough from the others for quiet, but not remote. We cooked up a storm in the kitchen, which, while not new, was well appointed with everything we needed. (This has not been the case everywhere!) There are at least 3 outside patio areas facing the Atlantic, plus the pool area, so it's easy to take advantage of outdoor living. Housekeeper Beryl generously waited for our arrival, later than we expected, and graciously answered any questions we had, and gave us the space we requested--we were happy to take care of ourselves. The owners were very easy to deal with--not a lot of fuss, and very straightforward and friendly. All in all, Sea Shell worked very well for us, and everyone in our group would be happy to return there!"

  • Wedding Celebration Bliss

"We planned a week-long wedding celebration at Casuarina Point with our ceremony being held at one of the Abaco Palms properties, Camp David. The first time we visited Kathy's houses in 2014 we KNEW we would be back. We had the wedding of a lifetime and we could not be happier that we got to share it with our family and friends with all of Abaco's greatness. Camp David provided the perfect setting for our wedding celebration. Kathy and Gary were gracious and offered help with planning and coordination. They went above and beyond!"

"My husband and I spent 9 days at Beside the Pointe and it was absolute paradise. The cottage exceeded our expectations and the owner takes excellent care of the house and the property. The cottage was very clean and looked like it was brand new. The gardens were spectacular with papayas, mangos, bananas, pineapples and beautiful flowers everywhere. The owner was so nice and helpful in all aspects of planning our trip and he has really thought of everything. He provided snorkeling gear, kayaks, a fishing spear, fish traps and even a cell phone. We loved the secluded outdoor shower with a view of the Caribbean. The screened in porch was an excellent spot to relax and read after a day of playing. The snorkeling at the Pointe was unbelievable and my husband caught fish for dinner almost every night. We never saw another person in the bay. The location and seclusion of the cottage and the spectacular views of the bay make me wish I was still there. We will definitely stay here again!"

  • Great place to stay with the family

"Just came back from Cannes Resort. We were pleasantly surprised as we had no idea what to expect. The town home (#18) was spacious, had an incredible view and an ocean breeze that was exhilarating! The kitchen had everything! the beds were comfortable and the place was clean and well maintained. Not the most elegant place we have been, however, more than adequate for one's family to have a great time. Broadband free Wifi made my kids so happy! Basic Cable and a free local phone made it easy to book a fishing trip, a snorkel trip and find great restaurants. The Manager, Catherine, was there everyday to make sure we were comfortable and happy. I highly recommend Mike & Diana's Town homes to all that want a beautiful beach and a place to make lasting memories! we'll be back! Discover something new."
