  • A relaxing and beautiful place

"We stayed in the separate house which is comfortable and clean and has a relaxed vibe. It is not high end and modern and is not trying to be. It is more like a beach house or large family cabin. The screened in veranda kept bugs to a minimum which was nice at night. The kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need. We have generally stayed at beach front houses in the past not far from grocery stores and shops. This is different as you have to get a water taxi or have access to a boat to go across the harbour to shop. Planning is needed. When we booked I was not sure about not being right on the beach. Once there you realize how unique this place is. The island is thin and you have access to both sides. On one side is the clear calm inner harbour (holes) with lovely snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding. Paddle to chat and chill! On the other side 2 min away is a wonderful long beach that only seemed to have our family on it most of the day. The small pools that formed between the stromatolites at the end of the day were perfect to relax in. We did not have very small kids but they would be perfect even for small kids to enjoy. As others have said sitting at the pavilions with the 360 views is wonderful. One thing to remember is that this is off the grid so conservation of water and energy is important. You need to be careful with water usage and remember to switch off lights. It provides a reminder of how much we all may be wasting back at our homes. Good learning opportunity for every one especially kids. Bob is a wonderful host. He made sure we had everything we needed and provided lots of information and facts about the island. He even gave me a boat lesson on the way over to pick up a rental boat. The cost is reasonable compared to many other places we have stayed in. Overall it was a great experience and vacation. Would go back."

  • Casuarina has it all...and then some!

"We just got back from one week at the Casuarina Beach House and I have to say it was everything I expected and then some! This is the 4th time I research/find/book a house in the Caribbean for our group of 11-17 friends and family (depending on the year) and this house was a huge hit! It was more beautiful than the pictures and had everything you may want and need. This year, we were a group of 13 (10 adults, 3 kids) ranging in ages 5 to 73 and there was something for everyone! The entire lot is glorious - beautifully manicured and well-maintained, on a beautiful beach that feels like a private get-away (we saw maybe 5 people walking the beach the entire week we were there), outdoor showers, kayaks, bikes, 2 grills, two hammocks, equipment for snorkeling, and enough spaces to be together as a group OR to have quiet time on your own... And Matthew, who serves as caretaker/house manager along with his wife Barbara, was stellar and helped whenever we needed it. Prior to arriving at the house Elaine provided information on golf cart booking, references for boat rentals and chef, as well as an overview of Abaco, Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay - which was incredibly helpful. I went with all her recommendations and for the most part they worked out...with two exceptions. I booked Chef Rolle for 4 dinners and I tripled confirmed the price beforehand via email. When we got there, the price I was quoted was 'incorrect' and it went up by 4X! We paid $500 for 1 night for chicken, steamed vegetables and rice...he didn't even provide dessert! It was frustrating but we made the best of it. We decided to have him for the one night only and cancel the others. The other booking that went awry was with Captain Mark. I had been communicating with him via email since February and had (I thought) confirmed at least 3X, including the Thursday before we arrived (on Sat!!!). I emailed the captain on Sunday nite with a few questions and expected to hear back from him by the next day but didn't. I finally called him in the afternoon and he claimed to have gotten another job because I hadn't reached out. It was incredibly frustrating because I thought the prior 5 emails had served as confirmations. Anyway - Matthew came to the rescue and saved the day... He was able to book another boat for almost the same tour! It was amazing and I was incredibly grateful. Overall our time at Casuarina Beach House was amazing...we all would go back in a heart beat!"

  • Best front porch in Hope Town!

"We just returned from a great stay at Sam's Cottage - it was perfect for us. It is very clean and comfortable and looks just like the photos. The front porch is the best for hanging out, reading and just watching the boats come and go, and there's always a breeze. We rented a boat for our week, and the dock at Sam's Cottage was a luxury - just a few steps away. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the house is right in the middle of Hope Town (which we love), so if you are looking for seclusion, this may not be for you. There is some noise/music from Capt'n Jacks, a fun restaurant just a few steps away (the conch fritters are a must), and a couple of nights a week the music goes late. All in all, we loved it and will be back. Cudos to Paul and Sharyn for keeping such a nice rental home."

  • Wonderful Vacation Spot!

"We stayed at this 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom condo in Bimini Sands for vacation and had the best time! The condo was very clean and equipped with all the necessary items for a relaxing vacation - including a large hammerhead shark hanging from the ceiling!!! It is a quick 1 min walk to the infinity pool over looking the beautiful turquoise ocean. Great spot for a fun and relaxing vacation. I would highly recommend!"
