  • Beautiful cottage just steps away from the Ocean

"Nice and comfortably furnished cottage with a wooden porch. We were a group of 4 adults and 1 small child and enjoyed our stay very much. It is fully furnished with a big kitchen, perfect for cooking. The rooms are spacious with a warm athmosphere. The house is situated just steps away from two beaches, the beautiful ocean coast and the much calmer coco bay beach. Getting around by the golf cart was easy and comfortable (except for the sometimes really bumpy roads). The service from the office (Jennifer) was over standard, very helpful and accomodating. We would recommend for families, couples, group of friends. Loved our stay, thank you for everything, Jennifer! :-)"

  • Fulfillment of a Quest!

"We stayed at Culmer Cottage 6 days/nights and enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing time in and around Tarpum Bay. The purpose of this trip was to re-visit one part of our honeymoon trip of 45 years ago! We found the village had changed some, but not completely; it still exudes the authentic culture of the Bahamian people, who are very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed walking around Tarpum Bay, talking with the locals, listening to the "fun and games" by the children outside even after dark. Where can you hear that anymore? That's something back in the 50s! Living in Culmer Cottage during this time was just as comfortable as it could be, with a full kitchen, interesting books to peruse, a patio to enjoy the view of the Bay. We were well taken care of with Kervin and Brenda, the caretakers, and they're adorable grandchildren. When we finally decided to visit Tarpum Bay, Lynn, the owner of the house, was an A+ Helper! She answered all our questions especially about travel. The communication between us was fairly often, either by email or phone, as we are not accomplished long-distance travelers and a little nervous about the flights. But she effectively put our minds at ease. We did not rent a car because neither my husband nor I felt comfortable driving on the "wrong side of the road"!! Even though we missed out on some great adventures because of that decision, our purpose for coming to Tarpum Bay was fulfilled, including a few quiet adventures anyway! So whatever your reason for reading this VRBO website, 'Experience Real Eleuthera', know that you're on the right path for a warm-weather vacation specially tailored for you. You won't be disappointed."

  • Oceanside treasure off tourist path

"The photographs do not do this place justice. The ocean views are just spectacular and condo is clean and well maintained. Spent much of the time snorkeling on the reefs behind the condo. We also enjoyed using the bbq and watching the sunset on the back patio. The property manager was amazing. After we asked him where we could buy snorkels, he returned with snorkels that he had purchased for us. The condo is surrounded by several great restaurants. We enjoyed The Studio restaurant (a small gourmet restaurant in the historic Compass Point Studios) and Aqua Grill both located right across the street. The conch salad stand is nearby too-the salad is delicious but takes long to prepare. We spent a lot of time researching oceanfront condos on the island that were affordable. Happy to have found this treasure off the beaten tourist path."

  • Just Simply Amazing

"It is so difficult to know where to begin, this was the best trip ever for myself and two friends. I enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the villa yet being so close to Nassau (easy trip on the bus) you could up the pace if you wanted to. We enjoyed so much swimming in the ocean, being able to come home to our luxurious home, relax with good food and lots of laughs. The villa was clean, extremely well equipped and the owners and staff made us feel more than welcome. Help or advice was only a telephone call away. The owners has also left lots of information for things to do and places to visit (including costs etc.) The area setting was close to beaches, a well equipped Superstore where we did most of our shopping and local restaurants as well. I would say that we had unbeatable value for a wonderful stay in Paradise. The locals made us feel extremely welcome - now back at home when work gets unbearable I focus on Star villa, the pool, bbq and just melt my brain into Paradise. I would recommend this rental home as a must and am looking forward to returning again myself - why would I look for anything else when it is all there (my only mistake is that I should have booked for a longer visit!) I would certainly recommend this type of holiday (and villa) to my friends without any hesitation that everything would run smoothly for them as the owners are great hosts and organizer's themselves."
