  • Best House in Bimini, Top Notch Dock, Location, and set-up. Very professional ownership & team.

"This was an excellent experience & vacation staying at this amazing home. Having been in Bimini over 11 times, in our opinion, this is by far the nicest location and home we have stayed in during our visits to Bimini. The house was ready by our check-in time and it was impeccable. The caretaker, Mr. Nathan, was easy to reach before our trip and sent us all of the necessary instructions, which we followed. He confirmed the instructions we had received and we checked in promptly and without any incident. We inspected the home and we were surprised by how beautiful it was, how well it was furnished and taken care of by the owner. This is the cleanest and nicest home we have seen in Bimini. We used the boat dock and facilities behind the home. This made it easy to arrive by boat and to depart every morning and afternoon to go fishing and exploring the Bimini and Cat Cay area. There is fantastic fishing behind the house and were all blown away when we fished a 130lb plus tarpon and various giant jacks. The outdoor deck was phenomenal with working fans and a great BBQ, which we used often, especially since the fishing was great. The refrigerator worked perfectly and was able to cool down and freeze a significant amount of drinks, food and all of the fish we caught. The air conditioner units in the house were extremely clean, as were the filters and they cooled the house easily, even on the hottest of August days. The bedrooms and bathrooms were top notch, very clean, and had excellent finishing’s and great details we truly enjoyed. The price to value on the home is amazing, as when compared to renting townhomes for 10 people, plus the dock for the boat it would have been much more expensive and it would not have been nearly as nice or as comfortable. The location is excellent as you can walk to the main pool, the main marina, the casino and the new Hilton Hotel. Our experience was further enhanced by the professionalism displayed by the house owner. He was true to his word and cooperative at every step of the rental process. His welcoming attitude truly made our experience special. We look forward to returning to Bimini and this wonderful home. We felt lucky, grateful and privileged to be able to stay in such a jewel of a home in a small island like Bimini. It is very difficult to take care of homes close to the ocean and especially on small islands, where everything is brought in from Miami. Thank you to the owner and his team!"

  • Sea Shell is a Jewel in the Crown

"We've now stayed at 4 places in Eleuthera, and looked at 5 or 6 more in person, and Sea Shell is one of our favorites. We weren't sure what Windermere Island would be like,--afraid it might feel cut off from Eleuthera proper, but that wasn't our experience at all. Yes, it was private, and we rarely saw other people on the beach, unlike at Twin Coves, for example, where we saw Spring Breakers as well as families and multiple couples. But it made going to Rock Sound (for the airport, groceries or the blue hole) & Tarpum Bay (for fresh fish) very easy. We especially loved the view from the decks and the living room. At night when we turned on the outside lights it was such a surprise to see the palm trees lit up. Dramatically beautiful! And...that beach! I loved walking the short but beautiful path to the beach. It was so alluring we didn't go many other places. The tides varied widely, so at low tide the beach was extremely wide. We had many excellent beach days, always with wind to keep the bugs away. A few days the wind was a bit much, but that meant sunning by the protected pool or going exploring. We went to Lighthouse Beach one day, and that was staggeringly beautiful. Not fair to compare Lighthouse Beach to anything else, but it is a commitment. Sea Shell's beach is a magnificent second. The house feels classic. First of all, it's clear that Sea Shell is lived in by real people. Things make sense, and it's not a generic rental with minimal attention to detail. The single-story design makes getting around very easy. Every room feels nearby but the bedroom layout affords lots of privacy. The master bedroom was extremely comfortable. Two of the bedrooms are accessed only from the outside, making them removed enough from the others for quiet, but not remote. We cooked up a storm in the kitchen, which, while not new, was well appointed with everything we needed. (This has not been the case everywhere!) There are at least 3 outside patio areas facing the Atlantic, plus the pool area, so it's easy to take advantage of outdoor living. Housekeeper Beryl generously waited for our arrival, later than we expected, and graciously answered any questions we had, and gave us the space we requested--we were happy to take care of ourselves. The owners were very easy to deal with--not a lot of fuss, and very straightforward and friendly. All in all, Sea Shell worked very well for us, and everyone in our group would be happy to return there!"

  • Off the Charts Amazing! Beautiful House in Perfect Location!

"My girlfriend and I stayed with two other couples in March, and couldn't possibly have had a better trip! The island itself is incredible, I've traveled all over the Caribbean and never seen anything like it. February point is the place to be if you are going to stay in Exuma, as it is a lovely gated community complete with a nice restaurant, docks, and swimming pools. SeaStar villa is an absolute gem. Right on the water, with a gorgeous wraparound porch so that you can wake up and step right outside to a beautiful view of the harbour, and have a few cocktails on the porch in the evening looking at the stars. To say it was picturesque does not do it justice. The house is well appointed and a significant step up from the typical beach rental I was used to. AC works great, marble floors make it easy to clean up any sand dragged in by your feet, the beds are comfy, and everything is very high end. One of the most fun parts of this vacation is renting a boat from Minns, and spend your days exploring! We didn't even need to rent a car- just get up and take the boat straight to the house to pick up lunch/snorkel gear/sunscreen/towels and go snorkeling, or go find an abandoned beach, or stop by what has to be the best beach bar in the world (maybe second to Soggy Dollar), the Chat n' Chill! On other trips I used to hire a guide every day for a different adventure- no need on this trip, we were entirely self sufficient. I will absolutely be returning, everything about this trip and the house was perfect, and suited the 6 of us very well. Highly recommend!!"

  • Simply the Best...

"My girlfriend and I just returned from Off the Reef. It was a glorious time! The view itself makes the price of a night worth it, even if it were twice the price. The pictures online DO NOT LIE! It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Allan and Carolyn have spared no expense to make this little bundle of paradise functional and fascinating. Bring a cooler and chairs if you want to, but you'll never need them. The only things we actually needed were our sunglasses and sunscreen. (And who doesn't bring those?) Be very specific with any car rental company you deal with. The roads in Eleuthera are terrible and there is no middle line on Queens Highway (except for spots in southern Eleuthera). If you drive on the right at home, request a car with left-hand operation. It's more than a little sketchy driving on both the wrong side of the road and the wrong side of the car. Also, if you're adventurous (like us) you'll want to visit some of the other beaches that you'll undoubtedly read about. Make sure you have 4-wheel or All-Wheel Drive!!! Lighthouse Beach is a pretty place, but it's a tough road to get there and God-forbid if you get stuck in the sand or get a flat! I'd venture to say that heading down to The Market at Rock Sound and buying four days worth of groceries and dining at Tippy's and 1648 should suffice a couple for the week. Be prepared, though, groceries, food and drink are expensive on the island. Take your snorkel gear! I saw about 15 varieties of fish and a ray while just "off the reef". I only got out as far as the fourth rock formation and the sealife was amazing! If you feel the need to get some fresh conch for fritters/rangoon, I'd recommend heading down to Bannermantown past the turnoff to Lighthouse Beach. There are hundreds of tidepools with living sealife. We didn't take advantage of it, though. My gal detests killing things and I kind of agree. So, that's that! Off the Reef is the place to be on Eleuthera for a couple. Everything you need, nothing that you don't. Carolyn is great about correspondence, so messaging is almost instantaneous. We love her! Missing OTR already... Hope to be back some time soon!"
