  • Crop Over 2016

"We have stayed at this condo 2 of the last 4 years we have visited Barbados The location remains idyllic---near the beach, secure, near restaurants and shopping! The actual condo is also “nice”---2 bedrooms, kitchen, living area, two balconies with an ocean view! Noticeable problems have, however, become obvious: minor rusting on the refrigerator and door locks can easily be fixed; while there, the AC in the small bedroom was fixed so that it blows cold air. However, the biggest problem is that the living-family room area’s air-conditioning has been disconnected! Indeed, the air-conditioning in BOTH bedrooms operate, but the AC in the main housing areas has been disconnected (by order of the owner). This means that---because very few individuals spend the majority of their (in condo) time in the bedrooms, the heat in the larger part of the condo can become over-bearing! I can understand why (perhaps) the disconnection was made—too many renters leaving it on for too long! However, that should not be reason enough to “punish” those who have (in the past) followed the instructions to turn-off the AC when not in the condo or to leave the AC on for all “hours” of the day. There were miserable hours spent in the main housing areas. Perhaps a “timer” would be beneficial in preventing mis-use!"

  • What a Lovely Find in Barbados!

"My husband and I just returned from a fabulous 2 week stay at Rosalie. From the moment we contacted the owners until we departed, everything was flawless. We loved that airport pick-up and drop-off was provided, and to have Johnathan deliver our car to us at the apartment was so much appreciated. He was very pleasant to deal with and made the entire process painless. Upon departure, we just left the keys with Kamisha, our housekeeper, and Clyde took us back to the airport. We do feel that a car is a must at this location - very short drive (5 minutes) into Oistens, and the freedom to come and go as we pleased and explore this beautiful island was wonderful. Our apartment at Rosalie was perfect - the owners have added many lovely touches to make it a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Everything from the furnishings to the quality cookware, cutlery, dishes and crystal glasses was lovely. The large patio was the perfect spot to eat and relax in front of the pool with a lovely view of the sea just on the other side of the hedge, and the drying rack was much appreciated for wet suits and towels! We highly recommend booking a private chef (details in the guest book in the apartment) for a dinner during your stay. He came, prepared a gorgeous meal in our kitchen, served it (beautifully presented), cleared everything up, and left all leftovers for our future use. The cost was about the same as eating out in a nice restaurant and the experience was delightful! We would definitely recommend at stay at Rosalie. The location is perfect for exploring the island, the apartment is lovely, and Rob and his mother (who we were lucky enough to meet our last few days) were very gracious and welcoming. We would not hesitate to stay at Rosalie again."

  • Wonderful!

"This was our 19th trip to Barbados, but our first time to stay here. We've already seen booked it for our next visit in November! This apartment was perfect for us. We loved being in a quiet, residential area and the close proximity to Mojo's was not a problem at all as far as noise from the restaurant is concerned. It was nice having a washer and dryer since we were there for 3 weeks. Being close to the grocery stores was also very convenient. This apartment building is on a side street that's quiet and one morning we saw a family of monkeys! Call us silly, but we still get excited every time we see them! Mr. Norris has always been very quick to get back to us with answers to our questions- a very nice man. I'm thinking we've found our new home away from home when we're in Barbados!"

  • "Your home away from home... but friendlier and warmer"

"We experienced extremely friendly and efficient service from the time we began to research the property. Barbara was quick to answer all of our questions by e-mail, and reserving and arranging payment was smooth. We were warmly greeted by Barbara and Sugrim, and presented with coconut bread right out of the oven, with additional treats throughout the week. She arranged a tour for us, and helped us find our way to local shops and restaurants, and could not have been. The property is safe, clean, and tranquil. Prepare to be visited by chickens, turtles, and the occasional monkey or cat. The grounds are beautiful with all kinds of flowers, banana, mango, and mahogany trees. The cottages are immaculately clean, private, and impeccably decorated with keen attention to detail. They are cleaned twice a week-- with full cooking facilities, fridge, kettle, microwave, stove, and a safe and A/C in your bedroom. It would have been quite enough to stay in the cottage for the full stay-- but alas, there were other things to do on the island! The cottages are a 5 minute walk from the beach, and an easy walk to shops, farmer's market, restaurants, and buses into Bridgetown and Oistins. We loved the relaxing tranquil atmosphere and of course, our hosts-- who have created a relaxing island getaway, and one that we will be returning to. Glenville is a testament to the warmth and hard work of her owners Barbara and Sugrim and their staff Claude and Deb. We only wished we could have stayed longer. Book early-- word is getting out!"
