  • Lovely villa in a great location

"Just back from a fantastic week in villa 163 at Port St Charles. Easy 45 minute drive from the airport and in a convenient location 15 mins walk from Speightstown. The villa was larger than we expected and fully air conditioned throughout. All 3 ensuite double (or twin) bedrooms were roomy, light and tastefully decorated. Views over the marina were fantastic from every floor and we enjoyed sitting out on the patio having breakfast watching the boats, fish and turtles go by (and the lizards and humming birds which were regular visitors too!). The villa has a cooling plunge pool, 4 loungers (2 on the patio and 2 on the large sun terrace on the top floor) and a gas BBQ. Inside, the villa was well equipped with everything from a smoothie maker to large screen TVs and a DVD player. The lovely sandy beach was 3 mins walk away and we quickly learnt to call reception 15 mins before leaving the house so that sun loungers and umbrellas were put out ready for us by the security team. Snorkelling off the beach was fab - lots of tropical fish, coral, eels and occasional turtles swimming through all within the 'swimming only' safe zone. The Yacht Club offered good quality daily lunches (Barbados prices so not cheap) and at this time of year dinner on Thurs, Fri and Sat nights. The walk to the Yacht Club was apparently 10-15 mins but we used the free water taxi which picked us up from our own jetty and got us there and back in 3-4 mins! We also enjoyed the diving on the island and used Reefers & Wreckers in Speightstown which provides daily diving from their boat based in Port St Charles (pick up was by the Yacht Club). Shopping was reasonable in Speightstown (3-4 mins drive) and slightly better in Holetown (15 mins drive). We were sad to leave and hope to return soon!"

  • Truely magnificent apartment that cannot be captured in photographs.

"5 off us have just returned after spending 13 nights is the superb 207 Apartment within the Port St Charles marina. Have spent numerous holidays in Barbados we didn't want to leave this ' home away from home. Beautifully designer furnished and superbly equipped and with the very best lagoon and sea views. Amazing staff throughout the complex and in the Yacht Club Bar and Restaurant. 2 minutes from the small quiet North Beach or a water taxi ride to the sweeping Heywoods Beach. A vacation of a life time."

  • Quiet, spacious, relaxing.

"What's not to like about this place ? The house itself is very spacious for up to 4 people. Everything is in good working order. The beds are all comfortable, the water pressure is very good, the air conditioning cooled the place well enough although we only used it 2 or 3 of the 8 nights we were there. Most nights we just opened all the doors and windows when we came back from our day's outings and the breeze cooled the place right down. There were enough bath and beach towels for 4 people which is nice because towels take up a lot of luggage space if you have to bring them yourself. The complex is very quiet. We didn't really see too many of the residents or other renters. More often than not, we had the pools and hot tub to ourselves. Even when there was someone else there, it was usually only a few people. The common pools are really nice, and our plunge pool was perfect for cooling off. It also provided our 4 year old with endless fun. As others have said, you really need a car to get here but we were fine with that. It allowed us to really explore the island. The owner was super helpful, and super responsive to any questions you might have to ask. Being able to just pack up and leave without having to do any clean up was great. I do have a few suggestions for improvements. None of these would deter me from renting the place again, unreservedly recommending it to others, or changing my five star rating, but here they are: - The pictures while they do a good job of depicting the house and the complex, are clearly out of date. The little palm trees in the front of the houses are now fully grown. There also seem to be two pictures of the dining area in the house each with different tables, there was only one. The grasses around the plunge pool have been replaced with some sort of bush. Some new pictures would be appropriate. - The previous reviewer said that the kitchen is well appointed. I found that it was adequately appointed but I supposed that's subjective. I felt it could have used a few more pots/pans, and kitchen tools. - It would be nice to have a few beach chairs and umbrellas for use by the renters so you don't have to pay to rent them. But again, these are really minor quibbles. If you're looking for a a super relaxing, chilled out, comfortable place to stay, stop looking and rent it."

  • Perfect villa

"We were two couples traveling together. This villa was perfect for that. We could easily walk to the beach, while others stayed behind enjoying the pool and grounds. . Mullins beach is the closest beach, but a short walk on the beach takes you to quiet and serene Gibbs Bay. That was our favorite. At the end of Mullins road we stopped at a food truck to pick up a delicious lunch. Andrew could not have been more helpful, and we did take advantage of his cooking, which was also wonderful and so nice to eat overlooking the pool. Claudette also was very helpful and graciously responded to all of our requests. The house was as advertised, Simon and Sarah responded to all of my questions quickly. We highly recommend it. Barbados is easy to get around, people are friendly, there's lots to see and do(gardens, caves, churches, rum, pottery workshops, sailing, ) and you can't beat the weather. One night we had dinner at Bombas Restaurant, right on the beach and an easy walk or drive. The food was really good. And you can buy beautiful African jewelry as well.."
