  • Perfect Retreat for One or Two Couples

"Clean, modern and a perfect location. Steps from the beach, numerous restaurants and a great ocean view everyday from the patio. Jon and Nikki are very helpful and provided suggestions for places to shop and dine. Paulette was available when we needed her and even offered up her culinary services if we chose to eat in. (Sadly we didn't end up taking her up on that offer!) The wicket is a perfect couples retreat and is close enough to the beach that a family coming down here would feel right at home as well. Walking distance to all restaurants in speightstown as well as the grocery store and the fresh fruit vendors. Would recommend a car if you have any aspirations to really explore the island. The drive to the east coast across the island as opposed to the highway is quite an adventure! Although we didn't use the kitchen to its fullest potential...the appliances, cutlery and dinnerware were in great shape and made it feel like home. This was our first time to barbados and we would definitely like to come back again. Would stay at The Wicket again hands down and would recommend to anyone planning a barbados vacation!"

  • Great property for beautiful vacation

"We rent the property for a 11 days stay at Barbados as a group of five age 50+, two couples and brother of one of them. So the tree bedrooms, two bathrooms and an additional separate toilet were just right for us. Everyday we made breakfast using the complete equipped kitchen before we started our trips to explore the island with the car we rented at the airport. Speightstown with several supermarkets, beaches and restaurants is only a few minutes drive from the house. We do recommend renting a car. The covered place in front of the house is very good. Every evening we sat outside at the covered patio having dinner we cooked ourselves or only with a glas of wine or a Banks beer enjoying the warm Barbados night. We had no problems with the Wifi and easily kept in touch with all our devices. So we always could check or email and get information for planing the next day trip from several websites. Joyce - the property manager - welcomed us in the house even after midnight (we came from Curaçao and there was no earlier flight) like we were visiting family! Every time we could contact her if we had any problem or questions. Also the contact with Jacqueline was easy and a pleasure. Thank you very much for this beautiful vacation at Barbados."

  • Better Than The Pictures Show

"This place is absolutely amazing! The views are breathtaking, the condo is huge and has everything you could possibly want... 3 choices of dishware, which suits everything you could possibly cook. Lots of cutlery and kitchen gadgets, different glassware choices. I could tell this is someone's home. Thanks for letting us borrow it for a bit. The fans were great so we could enjoy the sounds of the sea and not end up all closed in while being so close by! The location was great - we were only 2 short blocks from the bus station which took us everywhere. A short walk along the shore took us to the fish market, the vegetable sellers, the grocery store and other spots as well. I beachcombed and found a liter of sea glass to take home. It seems to be plentiful at "your own private beach". A warning: there are now stonefish in the waters of Barbados. They are similar looking but very different to lizardfish. Don't step on one. They lie on the bottom and the one I saw was in about a meter of water. Wear beach shoes or flippers in the water. Back to the inside: Having the bedrooms separated meant good privacy. And with 3 full bathrooms all with showers (one with tub/shower) there was never a reason to wait. Rinse off area down in the car park was used daily and very handy. We met others staying in the building and we all agreed this is an excellent place to be. Wifi worked well. Tv didn't work when we were there. Didn't miss it. We were out and about a lot. There's a bookshelf with a lot of books waiting to be read on the chaise or on the beach, if you have the desire... or the time."
