  • Fabulous apartment

"Just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Ixora complex . The apartment was very modern and immaculately clean. It had everything you needed to make it home from home. A small pool in the complex that my children really enjoyed. It is walking distance to lots of shops , bars and the beach. We also had a few nights in 2 we'll know hotels on our trip. We would choose the Ixora apartment over any of them. It was just fabulous. I would highly recommend the Ixora 6"

  • wonderful vacation at Vida Mejor Villa

"We have been going to Barbados for the last 5 years and have been staying three years at the same villa, and we will most certainly be going back. The villa is impeccable and has all the comfort you can expect, a beautiful garden gives you privacy to refresh in the pool and the owner Carlton and Peggy take good care of their visitors, always available and making sure we have all that we need. The villa is in Jamestown Park in Holetown, at a walking distance to the beach, shopping center, restaurants and a beautiful chattel village in which you can find real treasures! You will not go wrong if you rent one of the Vida Mejor Villas!"

  • Spacious, comfortable, sunset-in-ocean views every night, directly on a turquoise blue water beach.

"Our family of four, including a teenager and a 6'6" 21 year old had plenty of room in this wonderful 2 BR apartment for two weeks over Christmas. Insanely beautiful turquoise blue water with waves gently breaking greet you every morning! Master BR is huge - very comfortable, and bath updated with nice finishes/shower. Two of the best supermarkets in all of Southern Barbados are right next door and 1/2 block up the street. It's just 27 steps from Unit 2's covered patio (past the pool and garden) to placing your feet in the waves. Located directly on Worthing Beach, at high tide, the six steps down from the garden have the lower one submerged in the water - just fantastic. The surf is not too high, not too flat - just perfect for relaxing for adults, boogey-boarding for kids. Beach area around Worthing is not busy at all - just a few vacationers were spotted daily up and down the beach - peaceful. Rocks close to shore just 100 yards to the west of the apartment have nice snorkeling, and 10 yards to the east the sand is soft, fine and very light colored. Worthing is located in middle of the more-active, less ritzy South coast - The Gap and Oistins are to the East, and Accra/Rockley and Pebbles/Brownes/Carlisle to the West. Zed-Rs pass by all day with their fun tootling horns inquiring if you need a ride for $1 USD to anywhere on their route (street sided of unit was busy all day, and certainly louder on Friday and Saturday nights). Apartment very nicely equipped for self-catering (cook at home) with 4 burner stove, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and supplies. Anne, the property manager, is an informed local and very helpful and available if you need her. Condo complex cleans the garden and tends to pool each morning. Some beach toys provided. 2 sets of patio chairs for having coffee or meals outside. Great cross-ventilation reduces need to run the A/C, but the air conditioning in both bedrooms works great. Includes WiFi and a parking space. We loved morning and evenings reading or daydreaming on the back patio, or on the communal lounge chairs by the pool/in the grass & palm tree garden just a couple of steps away, and taking frequent dips in the ocean, then the pool, with an outdoor shower rinse before repeating. All night these areas are well lit. Walked to the Tiki bar on east end of Rockley (past Champers), had a fantastic catamaran day cruise, explored the island country by car. A perfect fit for our group and we didn't want to ever leave!"

  • Unique Moontown get-away with private beach

"The recent reviews say it all - a private beach and wonderful view of the water. We loved being 5 minutes from St. Elmo's (a grocery/variety store that met our needs and provided good, well priced take-out food). Across the street from St. Elmo's is Merton's Fish Fry (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) - fresh fish at a very good price. For more upscale dining, The Fish Pot is a ten minute walk. We did not rent a car, but relied on the buses which ran frequently (but not on any particular schedule). My wife and a I often walked into and home from Speightown (an easy 35 minute walk that takes you past the impressive Port St. Charles Yacht Club - open to the pubic for meals) and the local fish vendors. We enjoyed being somewhat off the beaten path for tourists, as we got to chat with many of the locals and get a good sense of Bajan life. We felt safe and welcomed, even after dark in our neighbourhood. This would not be an ideal location for travelers into the party/tourist scene, as it is at the far end of Barbados from Oistins, The Gap, and Bridgetown (about an hour by bus). For us, however, this was a plus. Linda and Les were very professional in their administration and checked in on us periodically to make sure everything was going smoothly (which it did). Their manager, Valdez Smith, met us at the airport and took us to a supermarket for our initial grocery shop (his fee was $100 USD). Valdez also checked in to make sure our needs were attended to. The one drawback to the property is it's proximity to the main road through Moontown. The traffic noise (and frequent horn-honking) began at dawn (6:00 a.m.) and make it difficult to sleep in. That being said, there are worse things that sipping coffee on the deck watching the sun rise over the Carribean. Overall, just what we were looking for and a wonderful introduction to Barbados."
