"If your not into the perfect location and home don't come here. Only a mile from town and footsteps away from a great palapa bar serving good food and drinks you can't beat Casa Paradiso's location. And the three bedrooms and three baths on the ocean is everything you want. the pool sits next to the house offering places in the sun and in the shade beneath coconut palms. Walk the beach to any one of several restaurants serving great food. We didn't have one bad meal. Or you can stay home and cook whatever you want in the fully stocked kitchen; even lobster delivered to you while you enjoy the view and breeze. And this perfection comes without tourists! There are no mega resorts with lots of tourists or peddlers to annoy you . Forget Cancun, come to the island of perfection where you only need to speak English. This was our second and best trip to Belize and if you DON"T stay at Casa Paradiso...then there's just something wrong with you."

  • Returning to 'normal' was so hard after the "Sandcastle"

"I read the reviews thoroughly before finally deciding on this place,. It took us 12 hours to get there, but upon rounding the corner and seeing the first view of the pier and ocean, and then coming in to find not one but TWO gift baskets from Carolyn (one for the second arrivals in our group who would arrive the next day and stay downstairs), we knew we'd chosen the best. The main family room upstairs has high ceilings, is airy and opens onto the balcony...the beach activities from the rental hut made everything special, as we kayaked to the reef almost daily to snorkel, and my personal favorite was the stand up paddle board, which I used to cruise around the docks in our area. And as so many people have said, William the caretaker rocks! He felt like family, but more importantly, he taught my 3 boys (one with special needs, 15, one just turned 18 and one 21) about making the most out of nature. He showed them spear fishing and how to catch fish (as he does daily) with a coke bottle wrapped with twine -- something endlessly fascinating to my husband who always goes. He also does wood carvings! We brought home a stunning sting ray and hammerhead shark sculpture, and coasters he signed for us. He also gave us his coconut demonstration -- how to break one open if you had to survive..and his key lime juice demonstration. Local honey, local brown sugar, key limes....YUM! Marvin, his friend, also helps out and we loved the dogs so much we brought them in to watch tv with us a couple of nights. :) Here's a YouTube video of the coconut demonstration, done inside the tiki hut bar in the yard: https://youtu.be/8spq4qqKhKw SIDE TRIPS: At Carolyn's recommendation, we used Seaduced for the Caye Caulker Day Sail ($100 per person, day trip) to go to Hol Chan, Shark & Ray Alley, and Caye Caulker. The guides were charming and knowledgeable and the infamous rum punch made for a very social group. We made sure to pick a day when cruise ships weren't in port. We used Caribbean Adventures to visit Altun Ha (we had the whole place to ourselves)and Cave Tubing in one day -- Cave Tubing was amazing. And...definitely call Aurora! She came to the house and made a grilled lobster/ribs feast that was less costly than any of the local restaurants. Mamba was our favorite, Rojo's was good: but fair warning - they are EXPENSIVE, as are all groceries. Tip: Using cash will save you 12.5% on tours. This was a special house, lots of wonderful memories."

  • 16 Perfect Days in Paradise

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 5th trip to Belize and we decided to splurge on a beachfront home. We stayed in Villa Amber and I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe how amazing it was. Everything was perfect for us. From the location (away from town) to the property and home (spectacular) to the management company (very responsive). This was one of the best vacations I have have ever experienced. If you want to see what living in paradise would be like this is your home. There is no restaurant on site but we picked up groceries in town and did our own cooking in the well equipped kitchen or walked to several of the neighboring restaurants up and down the beach. It is important to note that Belize is a developing country before you go. Power was out on the island for about 20-hours the first day. These things happen. Roads are not like in the US. Internet can be spotty. Those things said, I absolutely plan to go back and stay at La Perla very soon."

  • Ambergris Caye is Beautiful!

"The Palm House is a beautiful house located right on the beach. The house itself was perfect for us. The main floor of the house has 2 master bedrooms that are identical and are located on opposite sides of the house. There is also a bedroom in the basement, but the bathroom for this room is at the top of the stairs away from the bedroom, so not a true master. The guest house is located inside the house (not a separate structure), but has a separate entrance. The laundry is outside. The property is right next to a public playground with beach / pier access. There were people at the playground almost all the time, and it was more crowded on the weekend. I can't say that it bothered us all that much, but it's the type of information I would like to have before renting. The property does not have its own pier. Overall, the house and property met out needs. However, there are a points of improvement that I would offer: 1. Pelican Reef Villas manages the property. I never had contact with the actual owners. We rented the property approximately 8 months in advance of our stay. The correspondence with the management of Palm House started off very well and the lady that was working with us was nice, informative and timely when answering my questions. However, about a month before arrived, I noticed that she was no longer responding to me and I had to send my questions 2-3 times via email before I would get a very short, curt response. There was no explanation for the change in contact, no apologies for lack of response, nothing. I had to get rude and demand some answers a week before we arrived because I was getting nowhere - and it was about information such as flight confirmation and pickup from the airport. I was extremely disappointed and felt uncomfortable about the arrival. Not ideal for the price. 2. Typically, VRBO properties have a book or some kind of information sheet about the house - where things are located, processes for trash, etc. There is not anything like this in the house. I'm assuming they want you to rely on Pelican Reef Villas but that is not our style. We rent the house and like to know how to operate it. 3. The air conditioner in the living room does not work well at all. 4. They list prices for activities on their site. Be aware that these prices may change without notice so ask prior to your stay if you would like to know the exact cost. I would probably book my own activities if I were returning."
