  • 5 Stars – Because VRBO won’t let you award 6 Stars

"Wow! What a place. This is postcard perfect. We stayed a week over Christmas with our two adult sons and daughter-in-law and had a fantastic time. There are so many things to mention about the house and grounds that gives this place a 5-Star review. The house has vegetation on both sides almost all the way the beach giving it plenty of plenty of privacy, the pool with its sunbathing stations was a great place for the family to relax as was the hammock, and the palapa at the end of the dock. The owners have thought of everything including a foot washing station to clean the white sand of your now tanned feet. There were plenty of towels and the kitchen had plenty of cookware, utensils, and dishes. Don’t be discouraged by the listed location on this web page. It is not in the Corazal District but is in fact located right on the beach in Ambergris Caye just a ¼-mile south of the Portofino Resort. Hopefully, management will update the page with the correct location. We used three different operators for our activities in order to hedge against getting a bad one for all three of our adventures. None of them disappointed us. We used Roberto from Action Divers located at Portofino Resort for our snorkeling trip and had a great time. Roberto was very attentive to our needs and I would recommend him. For our Resort Discovery Scuba Dive we used White Sands Dive Shop. They picked us up right at the private dock and took us to their place for the instruction and dives. Juan Carlos (JC) was our instructor and a great guy. I highly recommend. For our Cave Tubing and Zip Lining we used Seaduced by Belize and we had another very good trip. I can’t say enough good things about the caretaker Israel and his wife. The owners of this Beach House have struck gold with Israel and his wife Mel. They met us on the dock when we arrived by water taxi, helped us with our luggage and were available every day in case we needed anything. On one occasion Israel took a kayak out to the reef, caught some Red Snapper for us and then Mel prepared a delicious meal for us. Although Isabel speaks perfect English, I enjoyed practicing my Spanish with him. Brittany (the property manager) was very prompt in answering all my emails and questions. Carol from the management company met us at the San Pedro Airport when we arrived. She arranged for a cab to pick us up so we could go grocery shopping in San Pedro and then arra"

  • Beautiful Spot

"Exactly as advertised, we so enjoyed the location and the privacy of Villa La Jolla. We especially liked its location right on the Caribbean ocean. The tours that we took picked us up at the Los Encantos dock and returned us there. Couldn't have been nicer!"

  • Truly Paradise - comfortable, clean, great service, excellent location

"Never having been to Belize before, my daughter and I took a stab in the dark on this property and were very happy with our choice. There are plenty of cheaper places available, but this was worth the price we paid. It's well managed by Nellie's Property: Nellie reached out shortly after our booking to set up our flights from Belize City to San Pedro (no upcharge for that), met us upon arrival and took us to the property, brought my suitcase to me the next day when the airline finally delivered it, and were very responsive whenever we had a question. The condo is very clean, with daily maid service, and includes everything you need, and everything worked. There's an A/C unit and ceiling fan in the living room and also in the bedroom. The description said it didn't have beach towels but there were two there when we stayed. I'm glad I brought my own, though, as it takes a long time for anything to dry in that climate so with 4 towels we always had 2 dry ones. It's one of only about 8 units on the property with an unobstructed ocean view. The property is beautiful with meticulously maintained landscaping and pool; really the best we saw in the area. We loved that we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. It's very close to two grocery stores (we recommend the K-Mart, aka Caye Mart), and lots of bars and restaurants (we enjoyed drinks and lunch several times at the Sand Bar, a few steps north of the property). And, best of all, we loved Chuck & Robbie's Dive Shop, just a few steps north of the property. We did a total of 7 dives with them, including a night dive, all of which were fantastic. Robbie is great as are all of the dive masters. He doesn't offer dives to the Blue Hole so he sent us to Amigo's del Mar, just a few steps south of the property, and they provided a fabulous day at the Blue Hole and Half Moon Caye. FYI, the fishing outfits and dive shops all give a 10-12% discount if you pay cash with either U.S. or Belize dollars. I wish I had brought more U.S. dollars (at least $1,000 USD) so I didn't have to pay the exchange fee at the ATM. But I digress - this property is fabulous and I highly recommend it."

  • Will come back in a heartbeat

"We, 2 adults an 2 teenage kids, stayed for 8 days, a week after the hurricane, and the property was pristine thanks to Antonio. White fine sand. Beautiful house. Open living spaces. Air conditioning was very nice for us northerners. We used it less and less during our stay. Pool is a real plus which is refreshingly cooler than the ocean. Location is excellent being far enough from San Pedro away from development, but just close enough for the golf cart. I'd recommend a 6 person cart if your group is more than 2 since getting supplies from town can use the extra room. Plus passengers can sit facing forward. The reef is a 15 minute paddle with the 2 kayaks at the house. There are no anchors at the reef so bring a long rope for snorkeling to tie to you. No snorkel gear at the house so it's worth bringing your own. House has a bbq too. A fellow named Clinton took us on a local fishing/lobster trip in front of the house and to Mexico rocks preserve just up the coast. He cooked with the house bbq and served us too for a major highlight of our trip. Portofino resort restaurant is a 5 minute walk to the north and is very enjoyable. In other words, the house was in the perfect location for us. None of the resorts nearby are more than 2 floors that I could see. Improvements? Well there is a small stretch of road that is unimproved, but that is in dispute and will probably get improved soon. The kitchen could be more appointed if you are really serious about cooking. Steve Childress was indispensable for us first timers setting up our travel connections and activities. You wanna be him. We were late arriving into Belize city and missed the last ferry. Steve got us set up with Mayan air who would normally be closed. He met us at the airport w our cart and guided us at night to the house with a pitstop at the market. Take his locals advice since there are so many choices for a tourist. And Antonio is a wealth of Belizean perspective."
