  • Beautiful resort in a great location

"We stayed in a 3 bedroom for two weeks and then moved to another 3 bedroom for week three. Both units are similar in layout however the second one was nicer, more updated, and more privacy bedroom wise. Everything was as advertised. Loved the property and location. Downfall was all of the stairs and no restroom at the pool/beach area. Another note if you need to run the A/C the main level bedroom would hear it. It did not affect us but might bother others. Fell in love with the island and we are currently looking for property to buy. Would highly recommend a visit to the island in paradise."

  • Great vacation

"Great location...private , peaceful , very clean , outstanding landscaping and grounds , due to the amazing caretaker , David and his family ...house layout is perfect... Only reason not a 5 is the following ...house needs some definite tlc...also new sheets . Good thread count , but holes ....also ...luckily because we rent a lot I always throw in some bar soap for bathrooms ....in case ....there was supposed to be basic soap ...there was none ...also the hammock on upper deck needs to be replaced ...not safe since it's coming apart .. We were made to feel so very welcome but caretaker and the security guard as well...great beach bar and casual restaurant just up the beach ...everything we read said it was half hour golf cart ride from town .....not at all... road is great except for one short stretch ... Pool is kept up beautifully also..."

  • Exciting stay!

"I say we had an exciting stay as we rode out Hurricane Earl with the owners during our stay. We were well prepared for the power outage for a few days and mopping up the water was not a huge deal. Unfortunately, the pier and palapa were destroyed. The owners and caretakers were out cleaning up everything immediately. Being long-time Alaskans, we were immune to a power outage and high winds. However, I would not have stayed for anything stronger than a category 1 storm. The condo was minimally appointed, but comfortable. The pool was small but perfect for our 8-year old and nice for a quick dip. My only suggestions would be to outfit the kitchen and the terrace better. There were very few plastic cups and plates, with limited utensils for food prep. A couple of wine glasses would be handy. We prefer to cook, rather than eat out all the time. I also would love a hammock or lounge chairs on the terrace for comfortable gazing at the sea! I truly hope the area has recovered from the storm. Many of the bars, palapas and docks were destroyed. We will be back!"

  • Paradise!

"We just go back from a week stay at Casa B'Alam and it was simply amazing. The pictures shown are exactly what you get - paradise! We started off our vacation with massages from Wendy - best massage ever - and that set the tone for the rest of the week. Definitely recommend renting the golf carts for the week. Some places are close to walk to along the beach or the main road but would not want to do the walk after dark. Restaurants were good nearby (Jamaya, Rojo (closed Sundays and Mondays), and Rendevous were great) and was definitely worth going into town to Blue Water Grill - did both the regular menu (Snook was amazing) and Sushi night. Amazing snorkeling. Came close enough to kiss the Sea Turtle at the Mexican Rocks. Roberto from Portofino was an excellent guide. Hol Chan was also amazing. Only thing we'd do different is take a plane from Belize City to San Pedro. Boat ride was not fun. On the way in, we were packed like sardines all hot and sweaty and on the way out, it was raining, most windows were closed, and even though we were not packed in like sardines the carbon monoxide filled the inside of the boat and made a couple people sick. Can't wait to go back to the island and we would definitely stay at Casa B'Alam again."
