  • Will come back in a heartbeat

"We, 2 adults an 2 teenage kids, stayed for 8 days, a week after the hurricane, and the property was pristine thanks to Antonio. White fine sand. Beautiful house. Open living spaces. Air conditioning was very nice for us northerners. We used it less and less during our stay. Pool is a real plus which is refreshingly cooler than the ocean. Location is excellent being far enough from San Pedro away from development, but just close enough for the golf cart. I'd recommend a 6 person cart if your group is more than 2 since getting supplies from town can use the extra room. Plus passengers can sit facing forward. The reef is a 15 minute paddle with the 2 kayaks at the house. There are no anchors at the reef so bring a long rope for snorkeling to tie to you. No snorkel gear at the house so it's worth bringing your own. House has a bbq too. A fellow named Clinton took us on a local fishing/lobster trip in front of the house and to Mexico rocks preserve just up the coast. He cooked with the house bbq and served us too for a major highlight of our trip. Portofino resort restaurant is a 5 minute walk to the north and is very enjoyable. In other words, the house was in the perfect location for us. None of the resorts nearby are more than 2 floors that I could see. Improvements? Well there is a small stretch of road that is unimproved, but that is in dispute and will probably get improved soon. The kitchen could be more appointed if you are really serious about cooking. Steve Childress was indispensable for us first timers setting up our travel connections and activities. You wanna be him. We were late arriving into Belize city and missed the last ferry. Steve got us set up with Mayan air who would normally be closed. He met us at the airport w our cart and guided us at night to the house with a pitstop at the market. Take his locals advice since there are so many choices for a tourist. And Antonio is a wealth of Belizean perspective."

  • Relaxing Stay at Sunset Beach Resort

"I, along with three other friends, recent returned from a great trip to Belize, where we spent part of our time in this condo. The description of the listing was very accurate and the condo fit our needs perfectly. It is in a great location... close enough to easily head into town for dinner or shopping, but far enough away from the activity to be quiet and feel secluded. There are several restaurants and bars within easy walking distance to the resort -- we visited a couple (Island Time, Lone Star, and Nest Grill) during our stay. Chapin does a great job keeping the resort grounds clean and he's available to help with an issues (not that we had any). The pool was great and we never had any issue getting lounge chairs -- admittedly, only about a third of the units were occupied during our stay. The unit is well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, utensils, cups, ice trays, etc. There is even a cabinet with a few beach items, sunscreen, etc. from previous visitors. We loved eating on the private balcony with the gorgeous view and a wonderful breeze. There is also a hammock and several other chairs. We made a couple breakfasts in the unit using eggs and hand-made tortillas from the small market down the street. We also grilled on the BBQ one night. We ended up only doing one snorkeling trip, but it was great. A private tour where they picked us up right from the dock at the resort. We stopped at Hol Chan, Shark Ray Alley, and Coral Gardens, before heading on to Caye Caulker for lunch and time to walk around. The trip was a blast. Since we were there at the end of the dry season, we didn't see many mosquitoes. In fact, rarely used any bug spray and had no bites. We rented a golf cart (highly recommended) which provided us with flexibility to move around the island and we found it a fun way to travel. Note that it can be a bit bumpy for people on the back of the cart. Overall it was a fantastic trip. The other people staying at the resort during our time there were really nice and the atmosphere at the resort is relaxed and friendly. I look forward to visiting Belize again and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again."

  • Perfect place and location

"This place is wonderful. So let me start by giving a huge thanks to not only George and his wife, but also the staff at Caye mgt. We had gotten stuck in Belize city due to delays in Atlanta's ice storm. Our bags were all delayed by two days. We dealt with it fairly easily but the folks at Villa Natalia were able to get our bags from Tropic air and deliver them to our door. Also George knew our frustrations with the airline and extended us a gift certificate to help with one of our dinners in town. Certainly not George or the mgmt company's fault so that was very generous. Anyway, the place the great. We spent alot of time on the balcony enjoying the weather and the view. Even when it rained, we were out there. When we were not there, we were at the pool. Unfortunatily, I think the palapa at the end of the pier was knocked down this last fall from the hurricane. There is a long dock there now to hang out on and they may rebuild the palapa. Armando is on the property and will always answer questions or help with any problems. No matter, we loved it. When we did leave the place, we were exploring town in the golf cart. Tip: if you can, get a golf cart. Way worth it and also a great way to get around. We ate some amazing food while we were there and returned to one.OK so here is our quick list of highlights.(our opinion only) Food: hit the roadside stands where you can no only for fresh but cost. Super buy right across from the baker is the place for groceries Restaurants: By far The Hungry Grouper was the best. It is just a modest place with about six tables, but Argile will prepare your food ANY way you want. We went back twice. Palapas on the water was fun and great view and actually food was good. The Blue Water was a "nicer" place that has amazing sushi on Tues. Fido is a good place for just drinks or food. Again, Villa Natalia is a great all around place away from the noise of town, but close enough to cart there in minutes. We will miss you."

  • A 5-star stay!

"We have been to Ambergris before, but we stayed south of downtown, which can be fun, but very busy and crowded. If you want nightlife and lots of golf carts on the streets, look elsewhere! This house is about a mile north of the bridge, and it is like you are on your own private island. No noise, hardly anyone walking on the beach in front of the house, very few people peddling their wares. The location is PERFECT. Marbucks (excellent coffee, smoothies, and breakfast sandwiches), the Truck Stop (street food, stone oven pizza, ice cream), Ak'Bol yoga (also great breakfasts), Tiki Maya (burgers, fries) are literally only steps away. A small grocery store with ATM is just up the street (2 minutes by golf cart). We didn't have a cart the first night, and enjoyed walking down the beach under the stars to eat lion fish at Pirate's Treasure. The Dive Bar is just past there and we had a yummy lunch with a fun kid / dog-friendly vibe. The old Palapa Bar is right in front of the house and we were able to do scuba diving and spearfishing (a highlight for our teenagers) through Palapa Tours. Jet skis are delivered there, water taxis can stop there...it is all so convenient; literally a few steps away! The house itself is beautiful and comfortable. Upscale, but casual. The deck is great to hang out on, and the pool is wonderful to just float in, looking at palm trees and ocean. Lolly, the owner, is communicative and helpful. She runs this house like a real business. Very professional, yet also personable! It was truly a pleasure to work with her. She made me feel like we were friends that she was sharing her home with - I was tempted to bring a hostess gift! In addition, their caretaker, Orlando, is pleasant and efficient. He arranged things like a golf cart rental for us, which was nice. He checked in every day and responded quickly when we had questions or issues. We honestly could not have been happier staying here, and will definitely try to book it when we come back to Belize. My family LOVED it! (I almost hate to write too many glowing things, for fear that it will become so popular that I won't be able to book it when I want to!)"
