  • Wonderful Family Vacation!!!

"Our entire family decided to do something different this vacation. This was the best. It is away from town and a perfect setting for fun. I saw manna rays from the pier and fished with my morning coffee. The Villa was perfect, Victor and Naomi are angels, and the swimming pool was the perfect fun (and shaded often) for the 3 year old. The balcony was a great place to sit and enjoy the view. The beach was well kept, but the swimming is best from the end of the pier with your snorkels. Older kids took the kayak out to the water break and had an adventure. The excursions picked us up on the pier too. It was just great! Can't say enough about how well we were treated!"

  • What a View and just as advertized on VBRO!

"What a lovely place with a fantastic private view. Steps to town with shops and restaurant's. Steps to Ramones Resort, where we took advantage of all the amenities of the resort, while having our private condo on the beach. Yvette picked us up and dropped us back to the airport. While Bill and Connee were kind, gracious and so very helpful."

  • Will come back in a heartbeat

"We, 2 adults an 2 teenage kids, stayed for 8 days, a week after the hurricane, and the property was pristine thanks to Antonio. White fine sand. Beautiful house. Open living spaces. Air conditioning was very nice for us northerners. We used it less and less during our stay. Pool is a real plus which is refreshingly cooler than the ocean. Location is excellent being far enough from San Pedro away from development, but just close enough for the golf cart. I'd recommend a 6 person cart if your group is more than 2 since getting supplies from town can use the extra room. Plus passengers can sit facing forward. The reef is a 15 minute paddle with the 2 kayaks at the house. There are no anchors at the reef so bring a long rope for snorkeling to tie to you. No snorkel gear at the house so it's worth bringing your own. House has a bbq too. A fellow named Clinton took us on a local fishing/lobster trip in front of the house and to Mexico rocks preserve just up the coast. He cooked with the house bbq and served us too for a major highlight of our trip. Portofino resort restaurant is a 5 minute walk to the north and is very enjoyable. In other words, the house was in the perfect location for us. None of the resorts nearby are more than 2 floors that I could see. Improvements? Well there is a small stretch of road that is unimproved, but that is in dispute and will probably get improved soon. The kitchen could be more appointed if you are really serious about cooking. Steve Childress was indispensable for us first timers setting up our travel connections and activities. You wanna be him. We were late arriving into Belize city and missed the last ferry. Steve got us set up with Mayan air who would normally be closed. He met us at the airport w our cart and guided us at night to the house with a pitstop at the market. Take his locals advice since there are so many choices for a tourist. And Antonio is a wealth of Belizean perspective."

  • Perfect Spot for Family Trip

"We descended on the Blue Dolphin for 8 days at the tail end of the rainy season, hoping to cheat the weather while capitalizing on lower prices and fewer tourists. Our family was comprised of 13, with three generations and the youngest being two nine-month-old babies. A few of us have traveled pretty extensively in Central American and Caribbean countries, and we chose Belize expecting security, beauty, amazing wildlife, and knowing it would be more expensive than most other Central American countries. All of those things turned out to be true, and we had an amazing vacation. Dr. Mark could not have been more inviting and accommodating in the months leading up to our trip, providing details and recommendations, and even connecting me with specific vendors for golf carts, a snorkel sail trip, and a Mayan jungle excursion. Armando and Gloria are the caretakers who live on site and love to help out. They pulled the kayaks out each morning, kept the place immaculate, and saved our behinds when we had a flat tire on the golf cart or locked ourselves out of the house! They provide other services that we did not use because we were out and about so much, but the hospitality is top notch. The house slept 13 easily with a futon to spare. Must dos: golf carts for the week, kayaking (kayaks included), snorkeling at the reef off the beach (lion fish, nurse sharks), catamaran tour, Mayan ruins (recommend not taking small children and pack rain gear), the secret beach, and lots of hanging by the pool. The blender makes great pina colatas. We had a spectacular time. Enjoy!"
