  • BEST Personal Residence for Rent in Ambergris Caye - Includes exclusive use of Captained Boat!!

"So many great things to say about this house. The day begins with Brian picking you up on the boat in town from the airport - you have no worries! He greets you with a cold drink for the boat ride! He arranges a golf cart - he carries your bags - his staff ready your rooms, wash your clothes , makes your meals-if you wish, cleans the kitchen and take care of everything. Your every need and wish is there for the asking. DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK!!! - that is the number one tip!!!! We traveled with our college age kids- there is plenty for everyone to do! My husband loves the fishing - Bryan is a pro - and knows all the best places - they came back daily with plenty! It was so good! We took our 80 year old dad this time - he was able to swim with sharks - swim in the secret beach - dive for lobster and then eat ceviche right on the boat with the speared lobster (made by Bryan) - dance with local ladies - bet on Chicken Bingo- fish - eat a pampusa in town made by a local - sing karaoke- all with Bryan assisting him - it truly was so helpful ! It was above and beyond what a boat captian/house manager needed to do. This was our 4th stay at the house - I literally can not tell you how amazing . So many things - Yuri is exceptional and once again we love her homemade food especially the potato salad. Lando the groundskeeper - cleaned our snorkel equipment daily - brought us beers and rum punch when we were relaxing on he dock - HE MADE SEVERAL TRIPS! Top Pros: We love not being right in town (we always get a cart) - we love the private boat - there is a small grocery store 20 feet from the property - with a small "hut" cafe that will also deliver freshmade food! We had them "Auroras" cook our fish one day- it was incredible - she roasted 3 whole fish for us- we caught them - Bryan cleaned them and delivered to her - She delivered them once cooked - We were eating them just 4 hours after my husband caught them. So fresh!! We will be back! So many great things to say about this house. The day begins with Brian picking you up on the boat in town from the airport - you have no worries! • We keep coming back.

"We have stayed here 7 or 8 times now. We love it so much we have been kicking around buying a unit. It is small and quiet complex (only ten units) so it's not busy or noisy like the resorts. Much of the time you can have the pool, beach or dock all to yourself. If you take a tour the guides will come pick you up right on the dock. It is clean and well maintained (both the unit and the grounds). We don't pack as much since we have the washer/dryer and we also don't have to eat out all the time with the full kitchen. It is far enough from town to be quiet, yet close enough to do everything you want. The neighborhood is very safe and there is also a security patrol. It is great being able to watch sunrise over the Caribbean each morning. Ana and Erik are quick to respond if there are any issues. For example this year we noticed that some kitchen utensils, food storage containers and glasses were missing. A couple hours later Erik showed up with a bag of new things from the store. Like I said I we keep coming back, so this is our happy place."

  • Returning to 'normal' was so hard after the "Sandcastle"

"I read the reviews thoroughly before finally deciding on this place,. It took us 12 hours to get there, but upon rounding the corner and seeing the first view of the pier and ocean, and then coming in to find not one but TWO gift baskets from Carolyn (one for the second arrivals in our group who would arrive the next day and stay downstairs), we knew we'd chosen the best. The main family room upstairs has high ceilings, is airy and opens onto the balcony...the beach activities from the rental hut made everything special, as we kayaked to the reef almost daily to snorkel, and my personal favorite was the stand up paddle board, which I used to cruise around the docks in our area. And as so many people have said, William the caretaker rocks! He felt like family, but more importantly, he taught my 3 boys (one with special needs, 15, one just turned 18 and one 21) about making the most out of nature. He showed them spear fishing and how to catch fish (as he does daily) with a coke bottle wrapped with twine -- something endlessly fascinating to my husband who always goes. He also does wood carvings! We brought home a stunning sting ray and hammerhead shark sculpture, and coasters he signed for us. He also gave us his coconut demonstration -- how to break one open if you had to survive..and his key lime juice demonstration. Local honey, local brown sugar, key limes....YUM! Marvin, his friend, also helps out and we loved the dogs so much we brought them in to watch tv with us a couple of nights. :) Here's a YouTube video of the coconut demonstration, done inside the tiki hut bar in the yard: SIDE TRIPS: At Carolyn's recommendation, we used Seaduced for the Caye Caulker Day Sail ($100 per person, day trip) to go to Hol Chan, Shark & Ray Alley, and Caye Caulker. The guides were charming and knowledgeable and the infamous rum punch made for a very social group. We made sure to pick a day when cruise ships weren't in port. We used Caribbean Adventures to visit Altun Ha (we had the whole place to ourselves)and Cave Tubing in one day -- Cave Tubing was amazing. And...definitely call Aurora! She came to the house and made a grilled lobster/ribs feast that was less costly than any of the local restaurants. Mamba was our favorite, Rojo's was good: but fair warning - they are EXPENSIVE, as are all groceries. Tip: Using cash will save you 12.5% on tours. This was a special house, lots of wonderful memories."

  • Relaxing with an AMAZING view

"Best location for a relaxing getaway. The view from the balcony is amazing, I enjoyed my coffee in the mornings and a glass of wine at night as I sat and listened to the waves. The staff at the condo was extremely personable and attentive when waiting on us at the pool or beach. When we needed to book reservations for a restaurant or an extra activity, the concierge was always available morning or evening. The condo is beautifully decorated and very well taken care of. The rooms were comfortable and allow for a great nights rest. The kitchen has everything you need if you buy groceries and want to make something there for lunch or dinner. I would highly recommend this location for a vacation. I can’t wait to book another week!!"
