  • Perfect Spot for Family Trip

"We descended on the Blue Dolphin for 8 days at the tail end of the rainy season, hoping to cheat the weather while capitalizing on lower prices and fewer tourists. Our family was comprised of 13, with three generations and the youngest being two nine-month-old babies. A few of us have traveled pretty extensively in Central American and Caribbean countries, and we chose Belize expecting security, beauty, amazing wildlife, and knowing it would be more expensive than most other Central American countries. All of those things turned out to be true, and we had an amazing vacation. Dr. Mark could not have been more inviting and accommodating in the months leading up to our trip, providing details and recommendations, and even connecting me with specific vendors for golf carts, a snorkel sail trip, and a Mayan jungle excursion. Armando and Gloria are the caretakers who live on site and love to help out. They pulled the kayaks out each morning, kept the place immaculate, and saved our behinds when we had a flat tire on the golf cart or locked ourselves out of the house! They provide other services that we did not use because we were out and about so much, but the hospitality is top notch. The house slept 13 easily with a futon to spare. Must dos: golf carts for the week, kayaking (kayaks included), snorkeling at the reef off the beach (lion fish, nurse sharks), catamaran tour, Mayan ruins (recommend not taking small children and pack rain gear), the secret beach, and lots of hanging by the pool. The blender makes great pina colatas. We had a spectacular time. Enjoy!"

  • Terrific Ambergris Caye Rental

"This is a terrific house that comfortably houses two families of four. We found the house even nicer than it appears on the VRBO pictures. House was in great shape, the pool is very nice and the caretaker is a great guy. It's about a 15 min golf cart ride to San Pedro for those that want to venture that way, but there are plenty of quality restaurant options 5-10 mins away. Great views from the house, but it's not what one would consider a true beach house as beaches don't stand out as much on Belize as the diving and fishing do. As far as getting around, the golf carts are great. Water taxis are available, but they're not scheduled to run that frequently. For anyone looking for a Belize vacation, I definitely recommend Debbie's Beach House. I would give it a 4 1/2 star rating, but I can't figure out how to do it on the VRBO site."

"We had a fantastic holiday here! The Tree House is really cute and comfortable and the balcony covered to get away from the sun. The hammocks below are great for an afternoon siesta. The kayaks make the journey out to the reef accessible and the reef fish and turtles make great snorkelling. We never got to see a manitee which some people do apparently. Rubio, the caretaker, is a gem and he took me out spear-fishing on the reef getting a good haul for the BBQ. All in all highly recommended."

  • 16 Perfect Days in Paradise

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 5th trip to Belize and we decided to splurge on a beachfront home. We stayed in Villa Amber and I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe how amazing it was. Everything was perfect for us. From the location (away from town) to the property and home (spectacular) to the management company (very responsive). This was one of the best vacations I have have ever experienced. If you want to see what living in paradise would be like this is your home. There is no restaurant on site but we picked up groceries in town and did our own cooking in the well equipped kitchen or walked to several of the neighboring restaurants up and down the beach. It is important to note that Belize is a developing country before you go. Power was out on the island for about 20-hours the first day. These things happen. Roads are not like in the US. Internet can be spotty. Those things said, I absolutely plan to go back and stay at La Perla very soon."
