  • Returning to 'normal' was so hard after the "Sandcastle"

"I read the reviews thoroughly before finally deciding on this place,. It took us 12 hours to get there, but upon rounding the corner and seeing the first view of the pier and ocean, and then coming in to find not one but TWO gift baskets from Carolyn (one for the second arrivals in our group who would arrive the next day and stay downstairs), we knew we'd chosen the best. The main family room upstairs has high ceilings, is airy and opens onto the balcony...the beach activities from the rental hut made everything special, as we kayaked to the reef almost daily to snorkel, and my personal favorite was the stand up paddle board, which I used to cruise around the docks in our area. And as so many people have said, William the caretaker rocks! He felt like family, but more importantly, he taught my 3 boys (one with special needs, 15, one just turned 18 and one 21) about making the most out of nature. He showed them spear fishing and how to catch fish (as he does daily) with a coke bottle wrapped with twine -- something endlessly fascinating to my husband who always goes. He also does wood carvings! We brought home a stunning sting ray and hammerhead shark sculpture, and coasters he signed for us. He also gave us his coconut demonstration -- how to break one open if you had to survive..and his key lime juice demonstration. Local honey, local brown sugar, key limes....YUM! Marvin, his friend, also helps out and we loved the dogs so much we brought them in to watch tv with us a couple of nights. :) Here's a YouTube video of the coconut demonstration, done inside the tiki hut bar in the yard: https://youtu.be/8spq4qqKhKw SIDE TRIPS: At Carolyn's recommendation, we used Seaduced for the Caye Caulker Day Sail ($100 per person, day trip) to go to Hol Chan, Shark & Ray Alley, and Caye Caulker. The guides were charming and knowledgeable and the infamous rum punch made for a very social group. We made sure to pick a day when cruise ships weren't in port. We used Caribbean Adventures to visit Altun Ha (we had the whole place to ourselves)and Cave Tubing in one day -- Cave Tubing was amazing. And...definitely call Aurora! She came to the house and made a grilled lobster/ribs feast that was less costly than any of the local restaurants. Mamba was our favorite, Rojo's was good: but fair warning - they are EXPENSIVE, as are all groceries. Tip: Using cash will save you 12.5% on tours. This was a special house, lots of wonderful memories."

  • Paradise!

"We just go back from a week stay at Casa B'Alam and it was simply amazing. The pictures shown are exactly what you get - paradise! We started off our vacation with massages from Wendy - best massage ever - and that set the tone for the rest of the week. Definitely recommend renting the golf carts for the week. Some places are close to walk to along the beach or the main road but would not want to do the walk after dark. Restaurants were good nearby (Jamaya, Rojo (closed Sundays and Mondays), and Rendevous were great) and was definitely worth going into town to Blue Water Grill - did both the regular menu (Snook was amazing) and Sushi night. Amazing snorkeling. Came close enough to kiss the Sea Turtle at the Mexican Rocks. Roberto from Portofino was an excellent guide. Hol Chan was also amazing. Only thing we'd do different is take a plane from Belize City to San Pedro. Boat ride was not fun. On the way in, we were packed like sardines all hot and sweaty and on the way out, it was raining, most windows were closed, and even though we were not packed in like sardines the carbon monoxide filled the inside of the boat and made a couple people sick. Can't wait to go back to the island and we would definitely stay at Casa B'Alam again."

  • Fantastic Vacation!!!

"My husband and I spent a wonderful week with 4 of our best friends at Casa Redondra. The house is extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool and the view of the ocean was incredible. We used Marfa the cook that was recommended for 7 meals and all of them were spectacular. We were all wishing we had booked more meals with her. Victor the caretaker and his wife were extremely helpful and always available. I would say a golf cart is a must. We rented the 6 person one and had so much fun going to dinner a few nights, shopping, and bar hoping. Check out Island time and their tacos and margerittas. They were delicious. I can truly say this was one of the most amazing vacations I have ever been on. One suggestion would be to spend the extra money and take the 18 minute plane ride from the airport in Belize to San Pedro's instead of the one and a half hours on a boat. We did a boat trip using Suya tours that took us snorkeling and then to a private island to enjoy the fresh fish and conch that our guys driving the boat speared while we snorkeled. It was delicious and so were the sides they prepared. I would definitely do it again."

  • Excellent Location and Everything You Need in Accomodations

"Absolutely perfect place to stay! Amazing view from the deck where we spent all of our time if we were at the villa. We visited with our son, my nephew, and another couple. We had plenty of room with the three bedrooms (each with its own bathroom) and living areas. Pictures and descriptions are accurate on this site. It's 1 of 9 in the building and it's on the top floor so you have a great view. Swimming or snorkeling off the pier was great as well. We had everything we needed in the kitchen when we cooked in or made our own fruity drink mixes. When we didn't feel like cooking/making cocktails ourselves, we just went across the street to a great restaurant - they were super nice and made excellent food including cooking the fish we caught in three different ways for our enjoyment...it was awesome! We went to the bakery every day - it is a must! Again they were super nice and made the most amazing baked goods. George provided an extensive amount of information that was very valuable and he was very responsive to any questions we had. I have traveled to numerous places nationally and internationally and I have never had the quality of information about the location I was visiting and the place I was staying at that I did for Villa Natalia. Excellent info/service George! Armando kept the place looking super nice by cleaning the pool, raking the sand, sweeping the steps clean, watering the plants, etc...and even washing our golf cart! The villa location is PERFECT...in/around San Pedro things can be busy...we were just far enough away to avoid the hubbub but close enough to get anything we needed, including restaurants (other than the two right by us), fresh baked goods, fresh groceries to cook at the villa, beer/liquor, basic stuff from the store, etc. Besides enjoying the area around Villa Natalia we went reef fishing with Suya Tours and snorkeling on Sirena Azul. Reef fishing was a blast but staying on the boat was as much a challenge as was hooking the fish...we had some unusually high winds and big swells. But I would do it again...as time goes on the stories of the waves and the fish get bigger and better. Villa Natalia is a superb place, in a great location, with exactly what you’re looking for to get away, enjoy the Caribbean, and have a great vacation! George has a fabulous place."
