  • Will come back in a heartbeat

"We, 2 adults an 2 teenage kids, stayed for 8 days, a week after the hurricane, and the property was pristine thanks to Antonio. White fine sand. Beautiful house. Open living spaces. Air conditioning was very nice for us northerners. We used it less and less during our stay. Pool is a real plus which is refreshingly cooler than the ocean. Location is excellent being far enough from San Pedro away from development, but just close enough for the golf cart. I'd recommend a 6 person cart if your group is more than 2 since getting supplies from town can use the extra room. Plus passengers can sit facing forward. The reef is a 15 minute paddle with the 2 kayaks at the house. There are no anchors at the reef so bring a long rope for snorkeling to tie to you. No snorkel gear at the house so it's worth bringing your own. House has a bbq too. A fellow named Clinton took us on a local fishing/lobster trip in front of the house and to Mexico rocks preserve just up the coast. He cooked with the house bbq and served us too for a major highlight of our trip. Portofino resort restaurant is a 5 minute walk to the north and is very enjoyable. In other words, the house was in the perfect location for us. None of the resorts nearby are more than 2 floors that I could see. Improvements? Well there is a small stretch of road that is unimproved, but that is in dispute and will probably get improved soon. The kitchen could be more appointed if you are really serious about cooking. Steve Childress was indispensable for us first timers setting up our travel connections and activities. You wanna be him. We were late arriving into Belize city and missed the last ferry. Steve got us set up with Mayan air who would normally be closed. He met us at the airport w our cart and guided us at night to the house with a pitstop at the market. Take his locals advice since there are so many choices for a tourist. And Antonio is a wealth of Belizean perspective."

  • Couldn't have asked for more!

"This vacation was a stress-free adventure from start to finish. Tony was very attentive and helpful as we prepared for the trip. Alfred met us on the dock and managed every need we could possibly have from the moment we stepped onto the property. Throughout our stay, he found the perfect balance of complete accessibility without being intrusive on our vacation. The house was incredible, the pool was refreshing, and the view from the porches was unbelievable! Two of our group wanted to set up a dive trip within minutes of us arriving; Alfred didn't blink an eye and had everything set up for the next morning before we had even sorted out rooms. He managed dive trips, snorkeling, golf carts, and misc. needs all along the week. He even recommended the best places to check out in San Pedro! Dianie made us an amazing welcome dinner of chicken, beans, and rice. It was delicious and so much food we were still eating it the next day! Her lobster dinner on our last night was perfect too! The sunrises looked fake they were so beautiful. And the best part of the house staff was by far Po (sorry Alfred!)! That little dog was the sweetest, most well behaved pup I've ever seen. At the end of the trip we were all fighting over who could take Po home and trying to sweet talk Alfred into letting us stay - none of us wanted to leave. I can't say enough about BajaMar, it's gracious owner, and the amazing staff there that keep things running like a well oiled machine. If you get the chance to enjoy this amazing place, take it!"

  • Is this Heaven ? YES! - Belize it!!!

"o.k. . . a cheesy title but absolutely not a cheesy condo !! (we are from Wisconsin !!) We Loved everything about this condo and our experience at Grand Caribe. Best Ever and we are still raving about it and cannot wait to return !! Absolutely decadent and beyond any expectation. We're pretty particular travelers and there is not a single thing we would have called out on this adventure in Jays condo or at the Grand Caribe. Condo - EXCEPTIONAL !! right down to the different towel animals every day. Our awesome house keeping person even found the small animal thing my daughter left in her shorts pocket which went thru the laundry. The staff was EXCELLENT ! - they were able to assist in excursion arrangements that were last minute to due schedule changes. Accommodating and super friendly. Not like they "had to" but like they "wanted to". Huge benefit in staying in Belize. the locals truly value tourism. The condo had everything, and I mean EVERYTHING imaginable. Views, comfort, quiet - Even considering the construction next door, it was still Quiet ! Amazing ! The only thing I would have wanted and didnt experience is Wi-fi on the patio. But that's just super indulgent. The wi-fi worked perfectly . .right up to the patio threshold :-) Awesome amenities, Exceptional experience, Excellent staff . . it truly was the 'Land of Make Belize' !! We'll be back . . . thanks Jay !"

  • 16 Perfect Days in Paradise

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 5th trip to Belize and we decided to splurge on a beachfront home. We stayed in Villa Amber and I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe how amazing it was. Everything was perfect for us. From the location (away from town) to the property and home (spectacular) to the management company (very responsive). This was one of the best vacations I have have ever experienced. If you want to see what living in paradise would be like this is your home. There is no restaurant on site but we picked up groceries in town and did our own cooking in the well equipped kitchen or walked to several of the neighboring restaurants up and down the beach. It is important to note that Belize is a developing country before you go. Power was out on the island for about 20-hours the first day. These things happen. Roads are not like in the US. Internet can be spotty. Those things said, I absolutely plan to go back and stay at La Perla very soon."
