  • wonderful experience and lovely property

"I stayed at Blue Moon Cabana with my two teenage children and loved the property. The inside is charming and well maintained and the terrace, with its two hammocks, was the best for hanging out at night or taking that first look at the ocean in the morning. The beach itself is beautiful with white sand and palm trees. It has a private feel without being isolated and there is a lovely palapa for shade when you need it. Right next door on the beach is a bakery where the owner bakes breads and treats over an open fire. She can tell you each day what she expects to bake the next. And just down the road is a fabulous restaurant called The Melting Pot which we found out about by talking to some of the local kids. Mirko and Annette manage the property and take good care of their guests. If you need them they're there to help and answer questions but if you don't need anything they are very unintrusive. We had our own rental car but booked a snorkeling trip and cave tubing trip through Mirko. We were so happy and impressed with our guides in both cases. They are young but so knowledgeable. During our snorkeling trip we found ourselves completely alone with our guide at 3 different reef sites looking at amazing fish and coral in beautiful clear water. The village of Hopkins itself has a relaxed and friendly feel and the locals are very approachable if you ever have a question. This seemed true throughout Belize as we drove around, sometimes getting lost and needing help. All three of us hope to go back sometime and my kids, especially my 15 year old daughter, aren't always that easy to please!"

  • Awesome home!

"We were a party of five including my husband, daughter, and another couple. The house was perfect. My daughter loved her loft room. The view is amazing! I think everyone napped in a hammock at least once! My husband said it was the best equipped rental he has seen. Everything we needed was there! The house was clean and had plenty of towels. My husband mentioned that he wished he had brought a fishing pole and the next morning, there was one on the balcony! Karen gave us some wonderful ideas for places to see and restaurants. I forgot the directions to the house and we were arriving at night. We saw two girls in front of a house (one with a lamb on a leash!) and asked if they knew Mary or Karen from New York--she took us directly to the house! We visited three different cities, but I would definitely use the Hopkins house as a home base and take day trips from there next time! There are Mayan ruins, a Spice Farm, ziplining and the Marie Sharpe hot sauce factory nearby. We went to see the bioluminescence and hunt alligators and fishing. You won't regret renting this house! You will miss it when it's time to go home! Thank you for sharing it with us!"

  • Paradise in Belize

"Our family of 21 stayed in this incredible villa -- and it left nothing to be wished for! First of all, Luis and Liz, Managers, communicated with me for the 18 months prior to our stay to be sure we would have everything we wanted. The villa is beautiful, incredibly furnished, spacious...the pool is huge, and the ocean is just a few steps from the pool. The kayaks and catamaran and water boards are great for those who aren't hanging out in the hammocks. Luis hired a cooking staff and we had all meals on site - which were delicious and varied. We went on snorkeling adventures, touring, zip lining, and horseback riding. They found the best places for us. And they rented us two SUVs so we could drive around on our own. But you really didn't have to leave the Villa to enjoy your stay. Hopkins Village is fairly remote - but with the short flight from Belize City to Dangriga, then a Villa shuttle to the villa, it wasn't difficult - especially because everything was arranged and overseen by Luis and Liz. It was a fabulous trip."

  • Wonderful Tropical Getaway

"Excellent time in Belize. It was our first visit and Epi and staff made us feel at home. Beautiful beach, pool and facilities. Went to Maya Center to learn how to make chocolate, Zip lining and Bio Luminescent Tour. Definitely need a 4 wheel drive. We rented a diesel pick up truck with standard transmission. If you don't know how to drive a standard you may be in for a surprise when you pick up your rental vehicle. Long drive to Sarkiki (about 3 hours from airport) and beautiful drive on Hummingbird Highway. There are no paved streets in Hopkins but adds to the Central American charm"
