  • A Peaceful Oasis

""We" are two couples who shared a cabana suite for nearly a week. The Maine Stay was perfect in every way especially the location. We felt as though we were away from the world but really had easy access to restaurants, town (we did have a car) and all the Belizian adventures one could want. We enjoyed our Monkey River Creole tour (Nite Wind tours) and our Cockscomb adventure with Doyle Gardiner. Although we could have cooked, we opted for dinners out after enjoying watching the sunset over the lagoon. Dawn's in town and the Bistro up the street were two favorites. The Green Parrot serves a delicious breakfast. But after our adventures, we could return to the calm and beauty of The Maine Stay to enjoy that beautiful property -.swimming, kayaking or simply relaxing in the wonderful ocean breezes. We hope to return."

  • Great location, wonderful trip

"We had a wonderful 10 day stay at Angel's Landing. The location was great for us. It's on the north end of the Placencia peninsula, which made it easier for us to get to some of the in-land destinations such as Mayan ruins, Bocawina (for zip lining) and Cave's Branch (for cave tubing). Placencia town was a 25 minute drive away, but Maya Beach was only 10 minutes. Maya had everything we could need, grocery store, great restaurants, etc. When not going on adventures in-land, we enjoyed the pool, the 2 kayaks, and of course the ocean. Luz and her husband stopped by multiple times during our stay to check in and make sure we had everything we needed. We would love to come back!"

  • EPIC Vacation at the SPECTACULAR Typsy Gecko!!

"I wanted a special location to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday and Typsy Gecko exceeded my expectations and "WOW'ed" my husband. The owner was SO helpful, very responsive with information and answering all of my questions. She even helped me plan special events for my husband. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so kind and Javier picked us up in an air conditioned, comfy van. When we entered the house, it takes your breath away. The pictures are beautiful but like the old saying goes "it doesn't do it justice". Every room was beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and complete with everything you would need - and more! Mable had prepared a delicious punch and a beautiful flower arrangement. Step outside into absolute paradise! The patio, the pool, the beach, the pier.....I can go on and on. Everything was pristine clean and as you try to take everything in, you're already figuring how many days you get to soak it all in before having to go home. Within minutes of arriving, we were in the pool, drinking punch and didn't have to do anything but start relaxing. I can't say enough about the staff - Javier, Mabel, Domingo, Mickey, the groundskeeper, housekeeper, pool guy - everyone so warm and friendly and GENUINELY want to ensure you are having a good time. Mabel and Domingo helped me plan the most memorable night for my husband with a candlelight dinner on the pier that was like a scene in a romantic movie - indescribable! My husband said he will never forget that night. Mabel was so helpful in helping us with the tours that were perfect for what we were wanting. We did 2 snorkeling tours with Splash - one to Silk Caye and the other to Laughing Bird Caye. Silk Caye has amazing snorkeling - we saw too many things to write in this review and capped the day off by swimming with the nurse sharks, sting rays and sea turtles. Laughing Bird Caye was a prettier Caye but didn't have as much sea life as Silk Caye - at least the day we were there. The meals prepared by Domingo and Mickey were delicious, plentiful, beautifully presented and ooohhhh the deserts! They were so accommodating as to what time we wanted to the meals. Domingo even did our grocery shopping for us! The pier is a perfect place to relax, read, sleep - Chillax! The paddle boards and kayaks were fun to use and explore the area. The golf cart was a perfect mode of transportation - no need to rent a car. We can't wait to return - this place is amazing!!!"

  • Perfect stay for a family or group of friends

"We stayed at Three Iguanas Feb/2016 for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is located in a very nice neighborhood at the edge of Placencia village. There are only 2 streets with a waterfront docks and Three Iguana is on one of them. Three Iguanas is a beautiful, modern, 3 storey house. Owners live on the second floor while renting out 1st floor and a suite on the 3rd floor. The house itself is very conveniently located. It takes only 5 minutes walking to the beach bar or a restaurant like Barefoot or Tipsy Tuna. Only 3 minutes to the grocery store. 3 minutes to the bank/ATM. Only 4 minutes to the pristine, beautiful, white sandy beach. We like that the house is not in the center of the village as it is peaceful and quiet there during the evening, so you can relax with a favorite book while gazing on the water from the dock. We also enjoyed swimming right off the dock. Annelise is the new owner of Three Iguanas and the friendliest, most kind host we have ever encountered. Annelise and Doyle live in the house on the second floor and were always available if we needed anything. Annelise even loaned us a phone so we could contact her at any time - she always responded immediately! They were so gracious , they invited us for a home cooked dinner on the night of our arrival and my daughter said that Doyle makes the best BBQ chicken she had ever had :-) Because of some changes in our travel plan, we arrived to Placencia 2 days earlier. Luckily Three Iguanas had first floor studio available for those two nights, however with only a queen bed in it. As there are 3 of us, Annelise bought !!!! the futon bed, so our child had a bed to sleep on. We stayed in a two bedroom suite for another 5 days and loved it as much as our smaller studio. All rooms are spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and with very comfortable beds and squeaky clean bed sheets and towels. Overall, we had an amazing, unforgettable stay at Three Iguanas thanks to Annelise and Doyle our gracious hosts. If you're lucky, Doyle will climb a tree and cut you a fresh coconut to drink! We plan to go back to Placencia and when we do, we want to stay at Three Iguanas again as our stay was perfect in all the possible ways. Thank you Annelise and Doyle for making our stay an amazing experience. You made us feel so much welcomed and"
