  • Luxurious and relaxing

"Ken and Virginia's villas are luxurious, private, and very reasonably priced. Villa Cayo is situated just outside of Santa Elena, about a 5 minute drive from town. The hilltop view is incredible and provides excellent sunset and stargazing opportunities. Our villa featured an incredibly comfortable bed, air conditioning (!!!), and fully equipped kitchen. We cooked at least one meal for ourselves every day while we were here, including grilling. Your stay features daily maid service with fabulous attention to detail. Ken and Virginia are very gracious hosts; Virginia took us around town to show us the best restaurants and sights to check out. They were warm and accommodating but also made sure we had privacy. We were thrilled with our stay at Villa Cayo and will surely be back the next time we are in Cayo."

  • Off the grid jungle paradise

"It was a lovely place in the heart of the rainforest. Be sure to go grocery shopping before you head out there. It is about an 11 mile drive on a extremely rough dirt road so no quick jaunts to the store for beer! 30-45 minute drive if you have good shocks on your rental. On a map, it looks very close to a lot of tourist attractions but it's kind of a process to get to them because the road systems out there are limited and you have to go around a lot of the rougher terrain in the area to get to them. It is a beautiful place in the mountains, close to the river and a gorgeous waterfall to swim in. Hiking was great but not for the faint of heart, there's some serious elevation changes. At times it sounded as if we were at Jurassic Park with all the howler monkeys! The cottage was beautiful and I highly recommend it if your looking for a romantic getaway in the mountainous jungle of Belize as long as you come prepared and understand that it is a fully sustainable village running off solar power and/or generators. Great place to go if you want to get off the grid and simplify things for awhile!"

  • Our Stay in Belize

"We traveled to Belize for a nephews wedding and wanted a house that would accomodate six of our family. I found this place online and I'm so glad we did!! It was perfect for us, a very quiet setting with pastures and cattle grazing below the house. The wraparound deck/porch was a lovely place to relax and view the beauties of nature undisturbed by anything. We had the address in our GPS and it took us right to the correct place but since we could not see the house from the road, we were not sure where to enter from the road. The owners are very accommodating and we could contact them anytime for help with anything. We simply called them and they told us where the driveway off the road was. They were very gracious, if we needed anything at all, we felt very free to contact them. We loved the location of the house also. It was behind the Billy White Village which is a picture of the life and culture of Belize. The locals are very friendly, they gave us smiles and waves as we drove by. The road past the house and village are gravel, but it is only 10 minutes or so to the blacktop road. There are many stores and places to eat in Spanish Lookout, a very lovely community there. We ate at Golden Corral, (not the chain as in US), and Western Dairies. The food and service was very good. The interior of the house is very nice also. It is light and cheery due to the large patio windows and high ceiling in the living area. We enjoyed the ample room with the comfortable sofas n chair for relaxing and being together. We slept very well, the beds were comfortable. If we have occasion to go to Belize in the future, we would choose to stay here again."

  • Excellent jungle lodge with wonderful proprietors!!

"I stayed at Inn the Bush for 4 nights in the first half of May this year with my parents and wife and brother and sister in law, and it was absolutely wonderful! The setting is gorgeous, with beautiful and newish cabins. They're very nicely appointed and comfortable. Roeni and Robert were great hosts. They were very friendly and had excellent recommendations about tour operators and things to do around San Ignacio. We loved that it was smaller, so with the 6 of us we had all three cabins to ourselves. We had breakfast and dinner at the lodge, and I can't praise Roeni's cooking enough! Dinner was so delicious each time, we actually requested pork chops a second time after the first. The best I've ever eaten! It's fairly remote, and about 20-25 minutes from San Ignacio, mostly due to road conditions, but we loved it. It was great to wake up to the jungle birds and nothing else every morning. I would recommend that if you're heading to San Ignacio and want a jungle lodge, this should be the one to pick! It's amazing!"
