  • Neston Place - Bermuda

"We loved, loved our recent stay. The property had fabulous views. It is located in between both St. George and Hamilton. We rented a scooter to get around the island. The house had a nice large pool. The Poolside Unit studio was a perfect size with plenty of room and nice breezes. We only used the air conditioner one afternoon. We sat on the porch every morning and night. We had the use of Kayaks at our disposal as well. We used the grill by the pool for dinner a couple of nights. There were 2 rain ponchos in the closet which we unfortunately had to use, but it was a great touch to have those available to us. The owner of the property, Wayne, was super nice and helpful during our entire stay. We so enjoyed talking to him and learning more about Bermuda, its history, its politics and it's people. His family was very nice and helpful as well. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We were so sad to leave after having stayed a week. We will MOST DEFINITELY return - one of our best vacations EVER! My only suggestion would be to bring paper plates, bowls, cups and utensils if you plan on eating a lot at the property, (which we did), and don't want to wash dishes. The unit itself had minimal silverware and dishes. There is a grocery store, pizza place and gas station very close to the property as well."

  • Plenty of Room for Our Multi-Generational Group

"The photos do not do justice to the views but the home is incredibly true to the photos making for a spectacular first impression! We were especially impressed with just how private the beach was. On the Sunday that we arrived there were maybe 15 people on the beach, other than that, I would say that 90% of the time we had it all to ourselves. Even when others were present it was no more than 3 or 4 people at any given time. There was plenty of room for our group of 7 to spread out, beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had just about everything you would want or need for the week. The location was perfect for our purposes and the convenient bus stop meant that we only took taxis for airport transfers and a trip to the grocery store. We had made arrangements to have bus passes waiting for us at the house and had more than enough to roam from one end of the island to the other with day trips through the week. Though it was not an issue for us, potential renters should know that the bedrooms and bathrooms are on multiple levels and both the natural path to the beach (which is the most efficient route) and "de hill" up to the bus stops are fairly steep. Overall I would recommend Gemstones without question to family and friends and would certainly choose it again for us as well. We also got to sneak a peak at Baby Gem and would certainly consider that unit if traveling with a smaller group. The mid-island location, ease of bus stop, private beach, views and general comfort really do make this rental a Gem!"

  • Bermudaful!

"We had a terrific vacation in Bermuda and enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very clean, larger than expected and we were pleased to have all the amenities of home. We took advantage of the beautiful weather and scootered around the island all day and barely saw our hosts, however, Rosalyn was very knowledgeable and accommodating during our stay. I did get the opportunity to talk with her about the history of the island and her amazing family. She graciously assisted us with finding a taxi (I highly recommend to make reservations in advance, give them specific directions, AND double check on them). We were happy to find the location was so close to the dockyard where there were some sailing events going on. Rosalyn recommended a great place for breakfast/lunch on our way and were excited to find a secluded beach on the way home. Sorry we didn't make it to the beaches in walking distance - we've already decided to come back so we can check them out! Thanks to our great hosts!"
