  • Great house in a great location

"This is a great property with a great location. It’s in a quiet neighborhood north of town but close enough for easy access to any services or restaurants in town. It’s also well on the way to the dozens of the northern west coast dive sites so you're at the first with a five minute drive. The standout feature upstairs are beautiful louvered hardwood sliding doors that fan-fold and make the walls disappear so that the house opens up to great airflow, wraparound decks, views of the ocean and a feeling of being completely outdoors. We're foodies and appreciated the kitchen-- very modern, nicely laid out and well equipped. And with the sliders open it's a few steps out to a great breakfast view in the morning and cocktails in the evening. All the downstairs bedrooms have their own split A/C units, generous storage areas and the same type of louvered hardwood doors that let them be closed and private or open and airy. There’s a lot to do and see on Bonaire so there were lots of activities competing for our attention but if you want a lazy end of the day it’s a pleasant walk thru the neighborhood to the closest beaches for sunsets into the water. The house is a great home base for any mix of Bonaire visit activities."

  • Best view on the Island

"This house is wonderfully located, very large and perfect for a family get-together. We were a couple, a family with two sons, and another son whose partner couldn't join us at the last minute. Plenty of room and privacy for all. The gorgeous westward view from the deck (to Klein Bonaire)and the constant breeze were big plusses, and the pool great. I don't give the fifth star simply because there were some mechanical/technical issues some of which were resolved quickly and others which remained. Jan made a great effort to fix the problems, but as he had to travel just as we got there, communication was not as fast as it could have been. We loved the house and would gladly return."

  • Spotless and Beautiful!

"My husband and I recently stayed in this unit and loved it! It was absolutely spotless and very spacious! There is a beautiful view that can be seen throughout a lot of the unit. It has a great and central location. The owners were always polite and professional. They and the sunbelt realty staff always responded very quickly to any questions. I would definitely stay here again."

  • Very enjoyable stay at Villa Chikutu

"This was our first trip to Bonaire and our first experience booking our own lodging through VRBO versus staying at a resort. The accommodations were exactly as advertised. We would definitely recommend Villa Chikitu as a comfortable place to stay on the island. *We appreciated the safety of the small, gated community (not that we felt unsafe anywhere on the island). *Even with some of the other villas occupied while we were there, it was very quiet and relaxing. *Roy, the property manager met us at the airport right after we picked up our bags and drove us the short way to the villa. He even provided us with a cell phone so that we could stay in touch with him when we needed anything. *Everything was clean and housekeeping came twice during the week. *The location is great. Walking distance to the beach and a Dive Friends dive shop location (across the street), and restaurants. Ilsa at the dive shop was indispensable in helping us to plan great diving experiences all week. Very close drive to downtown shopping and restaurants. Easy drive to North dive sites, slightly longer South. *So convenient to drive up to rinse tank/shower/gear locker. *Communication with owner, Dee, was always promptly responded to and she was most helpful in providing information prior to our trip. *Air conditioning and wifi worked perfectly. Comments/suggestions: *There were lots of gnats and mosquitos at night and even with good bug repellant they were annoying enough to keep us from enjoying the patio. We will likely choose a place with a screened porch next time as I enjoy sitting outside in the evening after a day of diving. It was also rather warm on the porch during the day (it was August after all) so a ceiling fan would have made it more comfortable. *The BBQ grill is not of good quality and the owners require you to let the coals cool 48 hours before disposing of them, so we used it less than we anticipated. *We rented a truck from Roy, but after some investigation determined that his rate was quite a bit higher than the standard rental car companies. He did however bring us a replacement truck right away when the battery died in the first one. *The one time we took a shower early in the day, there was not as much hot water as in the afternoon/evening, so just plan accordingly. *The bathrooms are modern and updated. The decor in other parts of the villa could use equivalent updating. However, all was comfortable and there is enough seating."
