  • Wonderful Spot !!!

"My wife and I stayed at the Van Dyke House June 4-11, 2016 for our 10 Year Anniversary and had a wonderful stay. The view from the house is fantastic ! I have nothing but great things to say about the Van Dyke House. AC in Bedrooms and Dining areas worked well. Pool was fantastic ! The house was close to everything and very private. We explored Long Bay, Smugglers Cove, Brewers Bay, Cane Garden Bay, and Rogues Bay on Tortola. Rogue's Bay was challenging to get to but well worth the effort ! Saw Lobster and eels at Brewers Bay. I highly recommend Brewers Bay and Rogue's Bay for those who are looking for a more private beach. We also took a day sail with Captain Luke on the Lion Heart Sail Cat (one of the Aristocat boats out of Road Town). I would highly recommend this trip ! We sailed to Salt, Cooper and Peter Islands. Snorkeled and dove on the wreck of the Rhone and saw everything... Barracuda, Tarpon, Turtles, Sting Rays and more ! We ate at most of the local restaurants. Our favorites were Sebastian's at Long Bay (Fish, Lobster and Rum were fantastic) , Bananakeet, Myett's at Cane Garden Bay. We also took day trips to Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke. We got to meet Foxy and enjoyed his Rum drinks and ended up at The Soggy Dollar Bar for some fun in the sun and Pain Killers. The trip could not have been any better ! We just didn't want to leave. Sam and Sharlene were very helpful with the house questions and jeep rental. I recommend a 4WD Vehicle if you plan to really explore Tortola ! We can't wait until we return !"

  • Perfect Views in a Zen Like Atmosphere

"The online pictures of Villa Towanda on VRBO don't do it justice because the property has a serene feel and vibe (with just the right touch of Indonesian charm) that simply can't be captured in still photos. The roads up to the property are steep and the location would be difficult to find on your own, so we definitely needed to meet the manager at Long Bay Beach Resort to follow him up. Definitely rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle! We loved the outdoor/indoor living spaces typical in the Caribbean. The management team is very responsive and great to work with. The kitchen and living/dining rooms were under the terrace cover and flowed outside right to the pool. The villa has three self enclosed "suites" consisting of a bedroom and bathroom that are all of approximately equal size...two are stacked (upstairs/downstairs) and the third is upstairs but separated from the other two with an incredible view and outdoor shower. The main problem with the property is that the bedrooms are not air conditioned (and easily could be) and the fans are not sufficient to keep you cool at night with the mosquito nets down (and the electricity sometimes going out at night to turn your fan off). Other than the lack of A/C, it was a perfect stay in a perfect setting."

  • Beautiful Estate - Amazing Views!

"My family stayed at AnaCapri Estate June, 2016. We had 8 adults and 2 children in our party.... plenty of room for everyone! The beds, with their lovely lace-trimmed sheets, were so cozy and comfortable. Each couple had their own beautifully decorated bedroom/bathroom suite, complete with it's own private porch and/or balcony with an incredible view! Every bedroom also has it's own individual remotely controlled AC for additional sleeping comfort. The common areas of the house are also amazing with beautiful arches, columns, beamed ceilings, Italian floor tiles and windows all around. The kitchen is equipped with everything we could have possibly wanted to fix our own great family meals. And there is also plenty of comfortable seating inside and out. Karen, the owner, was so helpful and thought of everything down to the smallest detail. There are plenty of books, DVDs, video games and pool toys for the kids.... even snorkel gear and a cooler for picnics! The grounds of the estate are beautifully maintained with stone walkways to several private sitting areas amid lush tropical greenery. Being from Florida, we were prepared for an extremely hot, humid climate and lots of bugs! I packed several types of bug repellent for the trip, but we never needed it. No problems at all with gnats, mosquitoes or any other types of bugs! And the beautiful, constantly blowing sea breezes made sitting outside a pure pleasure. There are several beaches within walking distance of the estate. Our favorite was Lava Flow beach with it's pure white sand and secluded location. It was like a little piece of heaven we had all to ourselves! There is lots to do on Tortola just a short driving distance from the estate. But our favorite thing was just hanging out by the pool or on a porch, preparing meals together, and dancing to Latin music. Oh, and we learned how to make our own Pain Killers... a real tropical delight! :-) I would whole-heartedly recommend AnaCapri Estate to anyone looking to plan their next family getaway! It was an amazing week for me and my family, and where we made beautiful memories together that we'll share for a lifetime."

  • NIRVANA DEFINED

"The definition of Nirvana is a state of perfect happiness; an ideal or idyllic place. This also defines Kerensa House. We planned an 8-day charter sail of the BVI's and afterwards a few nights stay at Kerensa House. Our sailing trip had totally relaxed us...or so we thought. When we arrived at Kerensa house, we made our way through a wooded area down the long rock stairway and discovered a spot so serene that we did not want to leave. Everything about Kerensa house characterizes a perfect Caribbean getaway. Terra cotta stucco trimmed in Caribbean blues, open dining area (just calling for a dinner party), a cool blue and white bedroom furnished with a most-comfortable 4-poster bed complete with a crystal chandelier in the sitting area and a bathroom to die for with an outdoor shower. A perfectly appointed great-room includes antiques, artwork, and books, a kitchen on one end, a sofa that folds out and high-tech WiFi, TV, Bose speakers and A/C. The house's balconies and porches have rocking chairs or lounges for sleeping, reading or day-dreaming. But the real calming effect comes when you step out to the vista. The infinity pool stretches out over a 180º view of The Caribbean Sea with tiny sailboats catching the wind up and down the waterway, silhouettes of distant islands and drop dead sunsets. Behind the pool finds a pergola with a vine of wisteria-type purple blossoms and comfy seating. We have been visiting the BVI's since 1976...sailing and renting houses. I can only say this...DO NOT MISS the Kerensa House experience...it's one of a kind...and you will leave with a real sense of tranquility."
