  • Paradise on Earth

"If you want to experience a home set in a tropical paradise overlooking the endless shades of blue of the Caribbean, look no further. From the very first outreach about booking to the conclusion of our trip, Michael was beyond helpful and provided details around every aspect of the travel to and from the island as well as the home itself. House Manager Tiina met us at the dock, get us set with our rental car, took us to get provisions and got us all settled in the villa. She is amazing and such a great resource during our stay. The photos cannot do justice to the spectacular views from almost every side of the villa itself. You almost can't believe it's real and right in front of you. The home is built into the hillside overlooking the sea and Leverick Bay beneath and is surrounded by lush, flowering tropical plants and trees for complete privacy. All of the furnishings, including some custom made, are very comfortable and functional in addition to being perfect for the home's style. We spent hours on the deck recliners enjoying the view of the water and boats of all kinds coming and going after a full day of snorkeling, beach time and exploring. This home and Virgin Gorda are the perfect destination for water sports lovers, beach enthusiasts, snorkelers and divers, and anyone who loves beauty and relaxation on "island time." Visit Spring Bay, Long Bay and Valley Truck Bay for great snorkeling. Savannah Bay was also a wonderful day. Can't go wrong with any of the beaches. Take the free ferry to Bitter End Yacht Club for some brick over pizza and the best key lime pie. Visit Hog Heaven for the spectacular views and great food -- ribs, fried chicken and fresh potato salad were among our favorites. Ride out of the Copper Mine ruins (closed in the mid-1800s) and get great views of the Atlantic side of the island. The Top of the Baths restaurant is always a great lunch stop but go back at dinner for a more upscale dining experience and menu - on certain nights they also have a fire dancer which was awesome. We had a great experience with Mahogany car rentals as well. My only hesitation is recommending is that everyone will discover this treasure making it harder for us to find an open date next time we visit -- and we will. Thanks for a vacation of a lifetime!"

  • Loved, Loved, Loved our stay at Villa Del Sole!

"We just returned from a week's stay at Villa Del Sole- what an amazing place. The owner Joan was just a delight to work with, and gave us some great suggestions for places to visit, eat, etc. The management company was also great, helping us get our groceries delivered before our arrival, and David meeting us at the airport to show us to the villa. Betsy even helped us with some mid stay laundry! Mahoe bay was just a perfect location for us, as it was between North sound and Spanish town so nothing was very far to get to. The beach is just a quick walk down a driveway, and is beautiful. Great snorkeling right out front, and most of the time the beach was almost all ours! The house was great for our family of 5, and we all had plenty of space to ourselves! Having our own pool was really great, as we could take a quick dip to cool off any time of day or night. I took one last swim on our last night just to watch the stars- so relaxing. We all really enjoyed the gazebo, and each of our kids tried to claim it as their own special place. Every one of us decided this was the best place we've stayed! The only things to note are that some of the furniture in the living area and the cabinetry is a bit older, but for us it wasn't an issue. There is also some road noise in the bedrooms at night, but we slept through it. Other than than, this was really a dream vacation."

  • Just another day in paradise!

"Absolutely wonderful vacation- I just wanted to tell you that we had an amazing vacation. Your Island Dream was perfect. The views were sublime. We drove all over and hiked a bit as well. Loved the trail down to the beaches. So much fun. I felt like a little kid again. The kids (15 & 17 yr. olds) fave was snorkeling at the Baths. And jumping off the boulders. Yikes! The water clarity is amazing. We all loved the swimming pool and that front porch is just perfect. Enjoyed reading one of your books, "A Trip to the Beach". Guess who we saw riding bikes, in the lead of course, with a group? Sir Richard Branson himself. Glad to see he was wearing a helmet. Lol Took a day trip to Tortola, which by the way has banned smoking (several years now?) in public places. How I wish they'd do the same here in Charleston, SC. Did some shopping there and ate at Pussers. It was a great and relaxing vacation, despite driving on the "correct" side of the road. It was the first time ever my husband said he wanted to come back to the same place. Thanks again!"

  • Perfect Tropical Paradise Villa

"Virgin Gorda's Mahoe Bay and its long, quiet sandy beach is the most beautiful, restorative, and peaceful ocean living I have ever experienced. Loblolly is perfect - a well-designed luxurious villa. I spend about two weeks at Loblolly every year with wife and family, but it's large enough for several families all at once. There are four idyllic master bedrooms with king size beds and private bathrooms, each with its own outdoor shower, and a pair of bedrooms for kids. The pool is surrounded by a lounging area and all the tropical foliage you could want. When we're in the house and not at the beach, we're almost always outside on the shaded upper patio which is large enough for at least twelve people to lounge, eat, drink, grill, and watch the spectacular sunset over the ocean. There's also a spacious, comfortable great room just inside as well as a very nice kitchen. And you have to experience the beach to believe it's real: quiet, sandy, and beautiful. The water is warm, calm, and crystal clear so the swimming is fantastic, as is the snorkeling along the coral reef where we see parrot fish, squid, and sea turtles just to name a few. Mahoe Bay is near the center of the island, so, via car, we're about ten minutes from anywhere on the island. What else? Management is friendly and always available, and they keep the house looking great all the time. Loblolly is really amazing."
