  • Relaxing, Very Private, Gorgeous View

"We loved this little cottage and the absolutely beautiful view of the ocean, Guana Island, boats, and the beach below. No complaints at all. A couple suggestions. If you rent a small car it is much easier to deal with the narrow, narrow roads and the small parking spot at the villa. We had some trouble finding the place. The police station is a good landmark, but it is not marked as you drive from Road Town. We found it easily after we turned around and came back from Beef Island. Take a good look at the picture of the sign for Turtle Bay Resort. We recognized it from the picture online. Also, there is no house number, so we found it by recognizing the parking spot at the bottom of the stairs. Study the pictures before you go. It is easy to find your way after one drive. Road signs are almost nonexistent. It might be handy to take a GPS (not your smart phone which has no data there) to help find things the first time. The resort is closed, so no pool and no restaurant at the resort. Appears that will be the case for a long time. However, with no one at the resort, the beach is barely used at all. At times we were the only ones there. Chairs and umbrellas available all the time. No crowds. Loved the outdoor shower with the great view. Loved the sound of the surf at night. Altogether, a very nice week."

  • This property was amazing !!!

"This house , perched up high on a hill...had amazing views and was perfect ! We loved the open air and constant breezes insured all day and night comfort !! The sitting areas are numerous....great for entertaining local friends you may meet, or just a nice quiet getaway to read and enjoy the peace and quiet . This home was so well has everything you need...all the comforts of home and then some !! Our every need was catered to by the amazing maids that arrived daily ....their daily comments being..."you are our are special." Loved it !!! Joleen was the perfect hostess !!! Charming young lady which shared her knowledge of the island as well as extra treats she picked up from the local stores. We loved our stay and would definitely stay there again. We have traveled the world and this was by far one of our favorite places we have ever stayed !! And last....There are no words for the magnificence of Virgin Gorda and its people ❤"

  • The Jewel of the BVI

"This beautiful home is an absolute gem. One couldn't ask for a more comfortable abode or more mesmerizing views of the surroundings. The house is situated at what is probably the highest point of the southern end of the island. At night, we enjoyed soul stirring views of the moonlit water, the lights of the surrounding islands, the milky way, and shooting stars from the beautiful, expansive multilevel tiled deck. With the windows open, one is lulled to sleep by the smooth sound of the breeze from the trade winds. During the day, gleaming sailboats and even five-masted sailing ships drift along the sound with the entrancing backdrop of the neighboring islands. There is a magnificent sunset every evening from the back deck, and a beautiful sunrise and a staggering view of Taylor Bay from the front. One could not ask for a more ideal location on the entire island. The house is very conveniently located to access points for several spectacular beaches, comfortable and casual dining / drink spots, and not far from fantastic fine dining, night clubs, yacht clubs and more. I feel fortunate to have found a place that exceeded my expectations in every way. Villa Somoya made for a tremendous, comfortable, satisfying vacation. It was beyond difficult to say good bye to the place when it was time to return home to reality! You will NOT be disappointed with this gorgeous, relaxed, luxurious yet unpretentious, comfortable, well appointed and well designed vacation villa!"

  • Great little cottage!

"Had a great visit to the Yellowbird Cottage. Was there for a week exploring the island, which was also amazing. Cottage was clean and comfortable. For those who need luxury, this may not be the best choice, but for the person or couple looking for affordable and comfortable accommodations on an otherwise very expensive island, this is great! The chickens started at about 330am every morning, so definitely bring your earplugs. Also, when we visited there was very little in the way of basic supplies at the house (when I have visited other rentals, there has frequently been a bit of olive oil, salt/pepper, coffee filters, etc) so you may find it most economical to bring some of those with you. The little library was great, especially the old but still good local guidebooks and flora and fauna books. All in all, this was a great little spot on a great little island! Also the owner gave some very nice recommendations after booking that were very helpful. Also, they have 2 nice beach chairs and 2 somewhat anemic beach towels. I was worried about not having enough towels but in the end I didn't even use those 2 they had..... you just dry off and keep going in the nice warm sun. Although we only saw 1 or 2 mosquitoes, there was also a mosquito net for over the bed and all the windows and doors were screened. Definitely would rent again!!! Finally, Seraphin, the local caretaker was very sweet and accommodating!"
