  • Very clean, well appointed All that was promised in the ads was there

"We booked this property on very short notice. We wanted a place far from all the hussle & bussle of 7 mile beach. This house was ideal for that reason. It was clean & well kept. All amenities including 2 kayaks, a bicycle & snorkeling equipment were there. We ate breakfast in the gazebo overlooking the canal every morning. We took advantage of nearby Rum Point Beach & Kaibo Yacht Club for meals as well as other nearby restaurants such as Tukka & Over The Edge. The weather was perfect with mostly sunny breezy days. This is a perfect place for a couple with or without one child or two"

  • Enjoyed Kailypso!

"Enjoyed our time at Kailypso - big pool, private small beach with dock in back of house - that water isn't great for swimming but kayaks are there to take you right across little bay to beautiful secluded beach w 10 minute paddle. There is also swimming at either rum point or kaibo both short distance from house - we much preferred kaibo and ate there regularly (great coffee also). Inside house was comfortable, had fast internet and flat screen tvs with good cable (e.g. Some movie channels and sports channels). Overall it was an excellent stay and I'd strongly recommend. Oh it's also in bioluminescence bay - so that was pretty sweet to kayak out in at night as well."

  • nice but nothing special

"My wife and I are experienced renters, having stayed at over 10 in the past 2 yrs or so. We stayed at #21 at The Retreat at Rum Point for 4 weeks from 1/21-2/18. The location is inconvenient from shopping being a 30 minute drive from the closest major market and gym. It more than makes it up however in tranquility as 7 mile beach is an overcrowded crazy town. We didn’t even go into Georgetown the entire time we were here. We are fitness fanatics and while there a fitness center listed as being onsite it is literally useless so we drove to Savannah for the gym. The unit itself has a partially restricted view of the ocean. (see below)When you stay at a place for 4 weeks you notice every imperfection and this place was no exception but nothing major. While the kitchen is somewhat dated, it is well stocked. The half bath is an unusual and welcome addition. The unit is well appointed and comfortable and was very clean on our arrival. The living room has new furniture.Easily the most comfortable mattress we have ever slept on in a rental. My wife wanted to take it home! As frequent renters this should not be overlooked. Wifi while a little slow worked fine. TBVwas fine but obviously not as inclusive as in US. That said, we got the Super Bowl and TB is the GOAT!The beach is the most tranquil of any we’ve stayed at. Very peaceful. Great for naps! Being right next door to the Rum Point Club and Red Sail watersports was nice. My wife and I are avid scuba divers and were not disappointed. The diving was phenomenal. If you dive, we used Red Sail (Tortuga Divers) exclusively and they were excellent. Get on “The Maze” and “Snapper Hole” sites! The owners put together a welcome review that was second to none. The problem is as you enter the unit and look to your left out the living room window you have a view of a huge pile of construction debris which partially blocks your view of the ocean. Indeed this is to the front right of the unit and just to the right of that beautiful pic they have out the lania. Only one other review mentioned this. Strange. Other units at the Retreat at Rum Point have an unobstructed view. Overall, my wife and I very much enjoyed our stay here. Grand Cayman is a wonderful place for a getaway. The people are as nice as any island we have visited. When we return we’ll probably stay at a different unit."

  • Rum Point Dream

"Our time at the retreat was a dream! We spent our mornings on the balcony doing yoga while taking in the amazing view of the ocean and our days enjoying the crystal blue water. The condo is in a very nice and well-kept complex perfectly situated next to the Rum Point club where we could get a drink, have dinner or book a boat tour and rent snorkeling gear. The apartment was easy to find and the parking lot was very convenient for bringing in groceries, etc. The place had everything we needed and then some, including a full compliment of pots and pans and a closet of beach related stuff – plus plenty of nice towels. Washer and dryer in the unit was also a big timesaver. The staff at the retreat was also helpful and it was nice to know that there was someone there if we had an issue. I would highly recommend staying here!"
