  • Wonderful trip to Grand Cayman!

"We had a wonderful stay at this unit at The Reef at Castaway's Cove on Grand Cayman. The location was very nice with a steady breeze which was very comfortable and kept any bugs away. The unit was clean and comfortable. We didn't use the TV or music so I can't review that. We did need Wi-fi and this worked well. We like to grill a lot and the grilling facilities were located quite a walk away so we needed to plan ahead for that. There is a very friendly beach bar with a great happy hour we enjoyed and made some nice friends at. Dinner next door at Mimi's Bar & Grill on the dock at Morritt's was one of our best meals. The wind became very strong towards the end of our stay which made swimming and snorkeling impossible. The whole island felt the effects of this wind. It was beautiful to watch but disappointed some of the renters hoping to go diving. We were told this was common for January. We ate at different restaurants in the area and really enjoyed Kaibo on the beach and Tukka. Our last night we ate at The Lighthouse and were skeptical. It turned out to be amazing! We decided you can't get a bad meal on Grand Cayman. The people were all friendly and everywhere we went we were impressed with the cleanliness of the island! It's a real treasure and we hope to return. (Driving on the left was a bit crazy!). This unit was far enough away from the main lobby, etc. so that night activities and noise didn't bother us. The property manager for this unit was very helpful when we called her which was nice. We had a great trip out to Stingray City with Captain Eddie, the owner of Ocean Life Charters aka the Stingray Whisperer. He was very informative and friendly. It was nice being on a smaller boat without the huge crowds. We had our own personal tour guide for this."

  • Delightful villa with Caribbean flair; peaceful location on a lovely little beach

"We use VRBO for most of our family vacations, and this is probably the best place we have ever stayed. It is charmingly furnished and decorated, well stocked, and well laid out with ample storage space. Everything is of excellent quality. I personally loved the decor, the linens, and the colorful dishes -- the details make a difference! I did have to put away a few of the more fragile ornaments to protect them from my gawky teenage boys. I'd recommend this property and the general location in a heartbeat. We snorkeled and dived from both the East End (about 25 minutes away) and Rum Point (about 5 minutes away). We also tried snorkeling right off the beach -- it is a little silty but you will see huge anemones and starfish, plus a few fish and maybe a ray or two. I saw lionfish lurking under a lost anchor, so be cautious! Restaurant recommendations: Kaibo for sure -- it is a one-minute walk. We never did eat upstairs, but loved the beach bar. Rum Point's restaurant is also quite good, and we also enjoyed Over the Edge in Old Man Bay. For basic groceries, Chisholm's is the place to go. The owner is very very nice. There is a slightly larger grocery in the East End, as well as a liquor store. My only regret is that we could not stay longer!"

  • Luxury in Paradise

"We stayed here for 7 nights with our two children age 10 and 9. This was our first time visiting the Grand Cayman and we absolutely loved the condo, the location and the island. We felt so welcome when we arrived late to the Condo with the fresh fruit basket. The kids hit the pool and hot tub immediately before unwinding and then we woke up and saw paradise. The ocean was steps off our balcony - we would sit and listen to the waves every night. The Conceige, daily cleaning service , wifi and free local calls made it feel like home. The gardener's came by with fresh coconuts one day while sitting on the beach - and opened them to drink the coconut water - very refreshing. The grocery store is just a quick minute away - we were able to stock up and we picked up take out Caribeann foods along with Captain Beard's Rum cakes a couple of times - the BBQ chichen is amazing. This part of seven mile beach is quieter and close to fabulous cuisine - we dined at Ristorante Pappagallo, The Cracke Conch, Morgan's,Vivo (these are the one's we would also recommend). The Snorkelling off the beach was truly amazing and we saw a sting ray. We explored the island taking in Rum Point, Starfish Beach and the Iguana Reserve. We saw Iguana's and lizards every day - loved it. We took the Sting Ray Sandbar trip with Captain Marvel. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend this little gem of a unit."

  • Fantastic Condo in Grand Cayman

"After a few cruises in which we visited Grand Cayman for a short day trip, my husband and I decided to jump off the boat and stay on the island. Never having stayed on Grand Cayman before, I did my best research and as we wanted to stay in a quiet location away from Seven mile beach day cruise tourists and at the same time to be able to explore the whole island. Sunset Paradise apartment was the best vacation decision we've ever made. The apartment is very spacious and located just across the road from the beach. The area around is very quiet but well connected to the rest of the island so in one day we managed to visit Seven Mile beach (west side) and watch an amazing sunset at Rum Point (north side of the island). We did a combination of cooking on our own in the condo and enjoying some of the many restaurants nearby including the Lighthouse where we had our best sunset dinner. The condo kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals and made our vacation that much easier. The condo was much larger than we needed for just us two, but we enjoyed having the extra space even just for ourselves. It would be a great condo for two couples, as it has two beds and two bathrooms; and for the same reason it would be perfect for travelling with kids --plenty of room to spread out. Bottom line for our vacation -- beautiful island and beautiful condo -- great vacation. Recommended"
