  • Great private home rental!

"Our stay was 12/28/16 - 1/4/17. Our party of 8, 2 families of 4, had a wonderful time at this home. Description of property is very accurate. Very private location. You have to have a car to stay here. The house was very clean, and was perfect for us. We loved snorkeling from their pier, and even if the water seemed a bit rough (not every day), the current conditions were not bad for swimming. Very pretty coral! The beach is not your clean white sand at a resort, but was very enjoyable. The only issue I had with the house (reason for 4 stars) is that I slept in the master suite and at night I love the windows open to listen to the ocean and you cannot open the sliders at all, they are completely caulked on the outside and the room has no windows so we had to have A/C on. I think overall weather is hit or miss, 5 of our 7 days were windy and 2 were not. The 2 that weren't were buggy and the other 5 weren't. But you are in a tropical location so bugs are to be expected. We enjoyed the deck everyday and wonderful stargazing at night. I have to say, overall the house was very nice and I would definitely recommend staying there."

  • Coral Kai is an excellent vacation villa.

"Excellent property, very well kept modern villa. If it wasn't for mosquitoes, this would be truly the paradise. We found two large reefs right out in the ocean to the right of the property with a lot of fish for snorkelers. Large shaded patio with a gas grill - allowed us to prepare and enjoy lunches and occasional dinners. All appliances, internet, and TVs are in operational order. Since we had couple of small children in our party, we paid for a heated pool and it was warm. We enjoyed the villa, patio, pool, ocean and the scenery tremendously. We went to the Rum Point to eat couple of times. Avoid Rum Point Club, its a tourist trap, but Kaibo Bar and Grill was fine, especially their pizzas. Stingray City is a must! Reservations must be made ahead of time. Highly recommend Grand Cayman Villas, reputable and customer oriented company. As far as property, Coral Kai is an excellent vacation villa."

  • Best Rental Experience Ever!

"Thatch Hill had everything we had hoped to find on this vacation: privacy, peace and quiet, a magnificent view of the sea, our own pool & easy access to tennis. The sea across the pool could be seen from every room – so I did not have to be out in the heat to enjoy the view. The décor was a fun, colorful Caribbean. Several places to sit and read – comfortable Adirondack chairs on the front porch, chaise lounges in back by the pool overlooking the sea. Comfy beds, plentiful towels and linens; very clean and looked recently renovated. Kitchen area was big enough for all 3 of us to putter around. Many books on the shelf so we put aside our Kindles. AC worked great. Likewise the washer, dryer & wifi. Plenty of hot water in the nicely appointed showers. Amazing to be able to go out snorkeling from the back porch & not have to lug our gear into the car, or have to figure out what to do with our car key, money, etc, while snorkeling or take a long boat ride. Sometimes several hours after we had snorkeled, we decided to head in again, it was just so lovely! We saw a lot of fish, & some interesting formations, perhaps not as many as when we've gone on a snorkel boat tour, but having such easy access was so special. Not the amount of restaurants that you'll find in busy Georgetown (best fish tacos at Sunset House) or 7 mile beach, but still plenty to choose from. We went to the Lighthouse, Over the Edge, Kaibo, Wreck Bar, Rum Point Club, Tukka, BigTree Barbeque. Rum Point was a 5 minute walk along the road & a bit longer walking (wearing sandals with toe guards) along the rocky beach-it's a lovely spot to watch the sunsets. This is a marine area with sharp rocky outcroppings, so if you're looking for miles of wide sandy beach to walk along, this may not be for you. However, with proper shoes you can still walk at length along the beach, & in fact the sand between the pool and the sea was quite soft & clean so there's plenty of room to sit out there if desired. We played tennis every day on a court we were able to rent for the week; just a short walk from the house. We used our rental car to explore the island, Botanical Gardens, Mastic Trail, East End, West Bay. But best of all was just being at Thatch Hill! A special thank you to Jim, Scott, Grace and Didi at Cayman Villas for their superb customer service & the extensive island information they provided; also to manager Judy, who stood by to assist on the island. We hope to return!"
