  • Kai Kotch Stay: April 2-9, 2016

"Our vacation was a delight. The property was well maintained and, as advertised, well stocked. We used the bicycles, kayaks and snorkeling equipment. There are also two paddleboards, but we were unable to find the paddle. The kitchen also was well provisioned, and we were able to prepare a couple of meals a day without missing any of the kitchen amenities of home. We had a slight misunderstanding with the management company on our arrival time, but the owner stopped by to apologize and presented us with a chilled bottle of wine. Very considerate. This was our first stay at Rum Point and we were not disappointed. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing break and Rum Point fit the bill. Every morning we kayaked about 45 minutes to Kai Kaibo for espresso and pastries and then paddled back. We were blessed with good weather and nice sunsets. We would recommend the property without reservation and hope to return in the future."

  • Quiet little place for two

"Minnie was amazing, and so is her little cottage. We stayed for 6 days on our honeymoon and could not have dreamed of more privacy. The nature! The size of the beach! The lounging options! Minnie has her beach set up for the relaxation of your choice. Hammocks! Lounge chairs, And a giant round rattan thing that became my personal favorite. The island is full of great adventure and great people. So welcoming, friendly! We found everything we needed. Most days we were hiking and caving and discovering new water holes and beaches. But nothing beat the mid afternoon nap in the cabana on the beach in the shade and the breeze..... The water was a bit rough when we were there, so getting into the water at the property wasn't easy. We had a couple of run ins with the sea urchins even with our water shoes. They are plentiful but easy to spot and easy to avoid in calmer waters. But we found other places on the island for water time, too. And no where on the island is far from you. The private hot tub on the deck was perfect at night, watching the stars. The small cottage has sooo much space and is fully stocked! I loved the two floor layout with the bedroom taking up the second floor. It is large, open, with vaulted ceiling, ceiling fan, and lots of windows! The bedroom cooled down quickly at night. We felt instantly at home and enjoyed our time. The property is gorgeous. We commented after touring the island how Feathertone was not only the prettiest we've seen, but one of the largest most private ocean fronts, and so well maintained. Cayman Brac is very much an adventurer's island. We are not much into diving or snorkeling. But we had a great time! Plenty to do, see, enjoy. Thank you, Minnie, for opening your property up to us!"

  • One of our best vacations ever!

"We had a truly incredible time! My husband said it was the best vacation ever (we’ve been all over Europe, Hawaii, etc. in our 24 years together)! Thank you for your warm and comfortable rental that we called “home”! Weather was super, too, and the second week, we really noticed fewer vacationers, so that was kind of fun, too! All in all, we really want to come back as soon as time allows."

  • Best Place on the Island -

"We stayed in the Penthouse - the one next door to the Marriott with the giant patio / balcony right over Seven Mile Beach. This unit sleeps 7 (a king size, a queen, a twin in with a set of bunkbeds). There were only two of us so we can only rate the bed in the master bedroom - I slept like a rock every night. I think it's a temperpedic bed and you never felt your partner moving around - was very comfortable. The whole condo was amazing - beautiful modern granite / tile kitchen and baths. Spacious living and dining room. All the comforts of home. The Marriott was right next door, a simple two foot wall to step over for the best mudslides at the Vista Bar after your day on the beach. Seriously - we tried mudslides all over the island and these were by far the best but, a very crowded beach and hotel. We walked the beach one night (bring bug spray!!! I cannot stress this enough!) and there was not one location (including the Ritz Carlton) that we would have rather stayed. I'm sure the Ritz is fancy and comfortable but in the end, it's just a ROOM along with the crowded beaches and beach chairs to go with it. We had a HOME to return to each day and a calm uncrowded beach. Never had a problem getting chairs with an umbrella (you really do need shade at times!) and all of this a mere 100' or so from your condo. Best views anywhere - I watched a lightening storm early one morning over the ocean while watching the sunrise behind the complex at the same time - was strange to be able to see both. There is daily maid service (other than Sunday) and everything but your own food is provided. Kirk Market - 5 minutes away - was an amazing grocery store - I agree with other reviews - comparable to Whole Foods. There is a great dive shop also just down the road (same complex as Chicken! Chicken!) where the people were very helpful and knowledgeable. There are plenty of things to do but we both agreed, if we had another 7 days and NO where to go, the beach and condo would still have made for a 5 star vacation! Carol, Cinnamon, Jennifer - all great people to deal with. You won't regret a stay at this unit! The balcony alone was worth the stay!"
