  • Snorkeling paradise

"My family of five stayed in this condo. We loved the views and the ground floor location was so convenient. The beds were comfortable with adequate pillows and blankets. Some wear to the furniture but nothing that would be unusual. Kitchen was well stocked, loved having the washer and dryer. Would definitely recommend this unit! About the area: We felt safe and walked everywhere. Yes there is an unattractive property behind sunset cove but we never felt scared. Yes,use common sense when out. We loved that our unit had a front door combination lock-nice touch,no cards or keys to lose. We used the bus system or walked everywhere-very easy to use. The swim up pool bar is awesome with great food and happy hour drinks. Shout out to Jesse who kept the drinks coming and made for a fun time for my adult kids. The bar closes at 10so no late night partying which is nice. Our absolute favorite thing was the snorkeling cove! We spent most of the time there and found such cool sea life. Visibility was excellent except for our last day. We went to the seven mile beach part to the right and enjoyed that too but we felt our spot was the best. Read the tips and comments in the books in the condo. Very helpful.. Took a waverunner tour to stingray city-awesome experience. Did the bioluminesence kayak tour and loved that too. DNS diving is a short walk behind the property and we highly recommend them as well. Lots of great food- Coconut Joe's, The Warf, The lobster pot Peppers, XQ's and Copperfalls steakhouse. Copperfalls was our favorite and worth the money. All our pricey but we were aware and saved up for it. We ate breakfast and lunch in each day and dinner out each night."

  • Immaculate & Peaceful

"My fiance and I wanted a honeymoon that was very private, clean, no crowds, relaxing and with beautiful beach view. And at the Getaway house we were delighted with more then we knew what to feel with. It was all those above and more. The caymanians were so welcoming and nice. We had many thinkgs to do then we thought. We arent into goin in the ocean but we enjoyed the beautiful breath taking views. The coconut foods and all food were so good. Jarrys jerk was amazing right up the road from the house. The market right next door. Star-island was great food, cayman beach resort was amazing and we even had to send a bottle of wine to mrs. Geraldine- she was so sweet- the gentleman cutting down coconuts, she went and got us one had it cut open and came with a straw! TIP!!! thanks. And the bikes were a pleasure as we stayed fit. We did rent a car one day which was very budget friendly. But back to the house.. it was perfect! immaucalte clean, spacious, as pictured, better than expected as it was our first vbro and especially in another country. The house had everything from towels, cake making utensils - which we did make a strawberry upside down pineapple cake, to a washer and just everything - it was perfect for all we brought was clothes and a few essentials. Marcia the owner was extremely nice and very accomadating to us. She was only a phone call away if needed. I dont want to give away the many joys of this getaway house but know your in for a big treat in this house!!! Oh and thanks for the wine for our honeymoon ~ so sweet! definetly looking forward to another trip but with the kids. Thank so much Marcia it was an unforgettable blessed honeymoon.. I would so recommend this to all vacationers. all i can say is if you want a private inexpensive paradise home away from home- Getaway house is it!"

  • heaven for divers and snorkelers

"Property well kept, in excellent conditions and very comfy. right in fron of the pool and 1 min to the rocky shore with a good ladder to get into the sea. Ideal for diving and snorkeling, with an excellent dive operator living in the community: Duncan, of Stingray Watersports. a 300 yards away another diving operator for shore dives only, any time... with a nice Tiki Bar and good restaurant: Cracked Conch."

  • Better than the photos

"First of all, kudos to Henry for a wealth of information about the property and Cayman Brac. Upon booking we received detailed information to help us prepare for our trip. Even though Brac is part of a British Colony, things do operate differently than the US. We traveled with three adult couples and this is a perfect spot for this many adults. The house was great with three nice bedrooms, a great sized living room, wonderful screened in porch, adjacent pool and pergola. Plenty of room to congregate but plenty of room for "private space." The kitchen is large and well equipped and has lots of spices for the home cook. We cooked brunch for the group and each night had a pitcher of tropical drinks and appetizers on the screened in porch and watched the sunset. The island is very quiet and slow paced and the house is extremely private. Although there is a condo unit next door, we saw very few people. The lagoon in front of the house is a great place to kayak (provided by Henry) and a good place to snorkel. It is a extremely scenic property with good views everywhere. An extra touch - the palm trees are wrapped with LED lights (solar) and a sundown they automatically light up - gorgeous. Sasha was a delight. She met us at the airport and drove us to the house (we rented a car - RECOMMENDED), cooked for us (don't leave without eating her conch fritters), advised us on restaurants and was available via house phone at anytime. Be advised that food is expensive but we never had a bad meal. Beer and pizza at the Buccaneer is a must and the BBQ at the Brac Reef Dive Resort on Friday night was a great way to close out our week. The Brac residents were always friendly and kind. The snorkeling at the end K. W. Tibbets Road on the north side is not to be missed. We also took an island tour. We drove up the North road through the communities, visited the Cayman Brac Museum, learned some local history, visited the lighthouse and the Parrot Preserve. We cut across and came back the South Road and drove to the end of the island. Very interesting. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet, restful, private house to rent."
