  • Perfect Paradise for our Romantic Getaway

"We chose Grand Cayman as our destination to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and renew our vows. Doug was easy to work with in making the arrangements. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Jennifer who was eager to give us lots of helpful information to make our use of the property and stay on the island most enjoyable. Everything was just as represented when we booked. The condo was very clean and perfectly positioned for easy access to the Grape Tree private beach and property pool. Being only yards away from snorkeling and with the beautiful sunrises and romantic sunsets complemented by soothing waves we absolutely loved this little cottage on the doorstep of paradise. We moved our vow ceremony to the Grape Tree Beach as we realized it was perfect for us. Enjoyed the natural life of the property with its iguanas, crabs and several bird species. There are two easily accessible grocery stores to choose from. Kirk's Market is within walking distance. Foster's is minutes away by Public Bus but has more selection and better economic value. Of the several restaurants nearby we really enjoyed The Wharf for fine dining and Coconut Joe's for casual dining. Though there was some nightlife I wouldn't expect a strong party scene if this is what you are looking for. Parasailing, jet ski riding, scuba diving and lounging on the beach are all readily available along Seven Mile Beach. We found very good shopping in George Town. Often we chose to walk with backpacks so that we could soak in the island and interact with the locals. We found the people be very friendly and helpful. We would certainly recommend staying at Doug's place. In fact, we can't wait to plan our next visit."

  • Scenic Island Beauty Location and Beautiful Reef Life

"Our family enjoyed an excellent island living vacation from Jul 10-17 2016 at Barcadere West End Cayman Brac. The home and location met all of our needs. It was very quiet and peaceful. The weather was perfect with sunshine and beautiful blue/green Caribbean sea every day. At this very special West End north shore location of Barcadere on the reef we enjoyed beautiful sunsets every evening. The art work and island decor inspired our inner spirits to the simplicity of island life. Time stood still. The telescope provided us with close up views of scenery and diving excursions. Our family felt very welcome by the friendly people of Cayman Brac. Mr. Derwin Scott welcomed us at the Cayman Brac airport and introduced us to Barcadere. He was very helpful. Reef Divers Scuba provided valuable info and daily scuba tanks and weights for our use. They also recommended specific shore dive sites on the island. We all agreed that the very best site and reef for beautiful sea life and variety of coral was the Barcadere cove itself which we enjoyed immensely. We snorkeled the reef from your beautiful access cove daily. The outside shower and beach towels which you provided were very much appreciated. Tut Tut the black and white island cat began each morning as our guest and enjoyed a kitty breakfast with us. Market Place at Cross Roads was very convenient for all our grocery needs. We enjoyed dinners at Captains Table and breakfast at Star Island Restaurant. Together our family enjoyed a very unforgettable and unique vacation at Barcadere in your island home at Cayman Brac. We very highly recommend Barcadere and we plan to return."

  • Better than the photos

"First of all, kudos to Henry for a wealth of information about the property and Cayman Brac. Upon booking we received detailed information to help us prepare for our trip. Even though Brac is part of a British Colony, things do operate differently than the US. We traveled with three adult couples and this is a perfect spot for this many adults. The house was great with three nice bedrooms, a great sized living room, wonderful screened in porch, adjacent pool and pergola. Plenty of room to congregate but plenty of room for "private space." The kitchen is large and well equipped and has lots of spices for the home cook. We cooked brunch for the group and each night had a pitcher of tropical drinks and appetizers on the screened in porch and watched the sunset. The island is very quiet and slow paced and the house is extremely private. Although there is a condo unit next door, we saw very few people. The lagoon in front of the house is a great place to kayak (provided by Henry) and a good place to snorkel. It is a extremely scenic property with good views everywhere. An extra touch - the palm trees are wrapped with LED lights (solar) and a sundown they automatically light up - gorgeous. Sasha was a delight. She met us at the airport and drove us to the house (we rented a car - RECOMMENDED), cooked for us (don't leave without eating her conch fritters), advised us on restaurants and was available via house phone at anytime. Be advised that food is expensive but we never had a bad meal. Beer and pizza at the Buccaneer is a must and the BBQ at the Brac Reef Dive Resort on Friday night was a great way to close out our week. The Brac residents were always friendly and kind. The snorkeling at the end K. W. Tibbets Road on the north side is not to be missed. We also took an island tour. We drove up the North road through the communities, visited the Cayman Brac Museum, learned some local history, visited the lighthouse and the Parrot Preserve. We cut across and came back the South Road and drove to the end of the island. Very interesting. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet, restful, private house to rent."

  • Amazing stay at Kiabo on Rum Point, Grand Cayman

"What a great condo and a great location. Sapcious, clean, well equipped, plety of towels, beach towles, an ice chest a spare snorkel mask, etc.. We didn't want to stay on the touisty side of Grand Cayman (Seven Mile Beach area) Kaibo & Rum Point oferred plenty to do. Red Sail sports set us up for Stingray City - truly amazing, as well as a scuba dive on the Kittywake wreck, so we did have one day on the seven mile beach side, which we did enjoy, but were glad to drive the easy 45 minutes back to Kaibo - it was a great week and ended all too soon. I hope to reurn as we made many new friends there that live on island!!"
