  • Beautiful, quiet spot on 7 Mile Beach!

"It was our first trip to Grand Carman but it will not be our last. I research spots well ahead of every vacation on VRBO, Trip advisor, etc. I chose Discovery Point based on everything I read and we were not sorry at all. The beach is gorgeous and not too busy. We had no problem getting three lounges together every single day. There are many huts for shade and palm trees too. The beach itself is well kept and yes, you can snorkel just off shore. The snorkeling is very fun. I'm not sure why some reviewers complained about the rocky shoreline. Grand Cayman is surrounded by reefs, of course it isn't all sand! That being said, it was very easy to find a spot to enter the water that was sandy and jump in and float so you didn't ever need to step on rocks at all. We didn't need water shoes of any sort to accomplish it. The snorkeling just off shore was great, the pool area clean and hot tub lovely. We found check in and out extremely easy, the daily (except Sunday) maid service was wonderful and the condo was the most stocked place that we have ever stayed and we regularly rent throughout the Caribbean and the US. There were items provided for us that we usually have to buy for ourselves like paper towels, Kleenex, soap, dish detergent and even detergent for the clothes washer. We did get a confirmation number upon booking and thought everyone in the office and throughout the club were very friendly and helpful during our stay. We would definitely return to this unit and Discovery Point Club, we can see why they have so many repeat visitors!"

  • Best Vacation destination (Stayed 5/7 - 5/14)

"So I typically set my expectations low when traveling but Ralph and Ginny’s condo exceeded our expectations. The condo was nicely decorated and furnished, very clean and there was of course a beautiful view from their balcony as well. This was our first time renting a condo versus going to a hotel. As Ralph and others have mentioned the food can be expensive in Grand Cayman especially considering the currency change. We were very thankful for having the ability to prepare some of our meals at the condo after paying for our first meal/lunch for two at the Western (about $90.00). We also much preferred the space/privacy we had on the beach comparing to the Western or the Ritz. I can’t say enough about our stay, great condo, nice pleasant people everywhere you go and great food. We didn’t rent a car so I paid for food delivery to the condo. This service was good but you can also walk two blocks to Fosters and buy your own. At least this way you can see all that is available. You can also take one of their carts back to the condo I believe they pick them up. Here are some of the great restaurants we went to: The Grand Old House, Eat’s Café, Eduardo’s (Italian), Copper Falls (Steak), Sunshire Grill (Best Hamburger), Duke’s Sea food and Rib shack (Great Ribs and Chicken), and CASA43 (Best Mexican food). All within walking distance except for the Grand Old House. My wife and I also enjoyed the calm, warm surf floating the day's away. I would highly recommend this Condo. Ralph was very helpful, Thanks Ralph.. Best Regards, Rheal and Jean"

  • Great Location and Relaxing

"This was our first trip to the Brac and the house was great. It is located on the south side with an excellent view of the water. It was relaxing lying on the porch in the hammock listening to the waves crashing and feeling the cool ocean breeze. The house itself was open and airy with all the necessities one needed including flashlights for nearby cave exploration. The manager was great in that he helped us with some issues that came up, and the owners were very responsive. The location was very central to everything. Although it isn’t a great beach for going into the water due to the iron shore (don’t forget to bring some good water boots), there are an abundance of places not that far away and the public beach is just a few miles down the road. Walking down on the iron shore by the water’s edge provides an opportunity to see things not normally seen on a sandy beach and if you are a sheller, you will have no issues finding some unique shells. Some advice, when flying into the island from Miami, pack a few things in your carry on that you will need right away. Oftentimes the airlines will have a delay with luggage and you may not get your bags until the next day. Bring lots of sunscreen and bug spray. Both the sun and bugs are abundant and these products are costly to buy on island. Also, buy duty free alcohol in Miami and bring it to the island with you. Alcohol is costly there. With all that said, the island is amazing and the house was a relaxing place to enjoy it with everything you will need to have a great vacation!"
