  • Great Thanksgiving Holiday Away

"The villa is beautiful. There were 5 of us in the home, 2 adults, 3 kids. Each kid had their own spacious room & my husband & I shared the upstairs master with outside shower & the balcony overlooking the pool. The guards made us feel safe & protected. Claudia was very helpful in setting up our first night's meal with Johnny as well as giving us tips on things to do in the area (restaurants, etc..). When we arrived, we had a wonderful Chicken Cordon Bleu, garden salad & rice and mixed vegetables. For dessert, flan! So yummy! The next day, we had asked Lily to make us the Dominican Stew. We gave her the dollars to get the ingredients for that, which was also delicious. She also made us Mangu for breakfast one morning with ingredients I supplied to her. We rented a car from OK from Monday to Friday. They delivered the Suzuki SUV to the villa & picked it up that Friday. Cabarete Beach - vendors were relentless with jewelry, massages, tours, braids, fruit, etc... Playa Alicia - waves were HUGE & knocked down my 5'9" 14 year old son. No vendors here to speak of. Playa Sosua - water was calmer, but vendors were again relentless. Horseback riding at Sea Horse - very nice, 1.5 hour ride around the ranch - to the beach, but not on the beach (per my request). Restaurants: Lax Ojo, The Waterfront in Sosua, Morua Mai (for Thanksgiving dinner), were all very good. Grocery Stores: the Playera & Super Pola were both good. Janet's in Cabarete wasn't as user friendly. The pool at the villa was huge, but COLD! There were just 25 straight days of rain, it didn't have a chance to heat up. The resort pools were also cold & in full shade, which is probably nice when it's hot out, but not when it's been raining so much. The biggest disappointment we had was that the restaurant burned down about a week before we arrived in the DR. So, we had to rent a car for groceries, go out every night, or have Johnny cook. There is no other onsite restaurant (think: frozen drink at the pool). On another note - the beach at the resort isn't really big enough (or safe enough because of the rock formations) to sit on or swim in. Pools or traveling to a local beach are the way to go. Our transportation from STI airport was through Cocotours, which was great. All in all, it was very good. Only 4 stars because of the restaurant not being there :("

  • Wonderful Beach Front Condo

"This condo is located o the 3rd floor with unobstructed views from the front balcony and master bedroom. Most of our "indoor" time was spent on the balcony where it is tee shirt warm even in the evenings and a very pleasant spot for meals. You are supplied with a nicely appointed kitchen and a gas grill so you can split your time between the local restaurants and eating in. Both bedrooms are very large with ample closets. All windows and doors are screened so mosquito and bugs are not a problem. I must add though during our stay there weren't any mosquito or bugs even on the open balcony. The condo group hires a full time gardener to maintain the beautiful gardens that surround the building and the pool. There are numerous places to lounge outside to read or nap and escape your normal life. Kathy, the property manager, is a gem in herself. She knows of all the local sights and excursions and can book whatever you wish for you. My wife had a medical incident and Kathy was invaluable with her advise and guidance. Having Kathy's phone number is reason enough to book here versus other condos. The restaurants in Caberete are a mile walk on the beach. We found it delightful to walk into town for the evening then take a taxi home for $300 RD, about $6 US. No need for a car. A wonderful getaway and if you are a kiteboarder, the launch beach is right at your doorstep. Winds in January typically are blowing at 2pm until sunset. I highly recommend this property. Ken & Kit"

  • Great Time at Windsong in Dominican Republic

"What a fantastic trip!!!! Our group including four couples from Colorado visited Villa Wind Song in April 2016 and enjoyed the best holiday ever. The staff and specifically the chef and his assistant delivered beyond our expectations. The villa was by far the most detailed, private and well equipped property we had ever rented. The beach walks right from our private ocean front yard were terrific. We were even able to do some great snorkeling just down the beach . We had some concerns about the Ziki virus as my wives sister was pregnant at the time of our visit. Our concern melted away as we never saw a mosquito during our visit. The villa owners encouraged us to use their driver rather than renting a car and that too was a really good suggestion. This was not only much safer but also allowed us to relax and experience some local hospitality and knowledge that would not have been an option had we rented a car. Wind Song as a home and retreat is incredible. The owners provided concierge service and great detail on all local restaurants and activities and the staff was five star. Rooms were clean, views spectacular. We truly look forward to our return in 2017!"

  • Awesome place!!

"I am single women and I was a little concerned on going on vacation by myself. I love the view and the restaurants! The place I was staying in was comfortable and nice. I would go there over and over again. The town can be a little noisy, so the location is just enough away to enjoy just the sounds of the beach!! The main store is 5 min away and the center of town is 10 min walking distance. Great value!!!"
