  • beautiful home

"We enjoyed our week at Case del Rio. Melissa was very helpful when I was planning this trip. She answered all my questions and responded promptly. Case del Rio is a beautiful home in a gated community. There are condos around the house but we were there during low season so it was very quiet (except for a bit of construction noise occasionally next door). Jacqueline and Nelson prepared a lovely breakfast every morning. For us (two couples), it was probably not necessary to have them at the house all day but it was not a problem for us. The view from the house is stunning and the beach is just a few steps away. Las Terrenas was a short drive from the house and we enjoyed many restaurants there. I would recommend this house and hope to be back."

  • Recipe for a great vacation

"After a short, delightful drive from the Sammana airport our family arrived to this place that was breathtakingly beautiful. The pictures do not do this villa justice and it has to be experienced to believe that a non resort holiday can be as relaxing and enjoyable. Even the baby slept well in the crib provided. Affordable quality groceries were easily obtained and meal preparation was easy and pleasant with the large pass through from the kitchen to the dining patio. Aside from a little exploring and an enjoyable lunch in Las Terrenas our week was spent relaxing under the impressive thatched roof interspersed with comfortable sleeps, shell collecting and swimming while strolling endlessly along the beach or heading for great oceanside eating at the Italian restaurant Costa las Ballenas at Playa Bonita and Coson Resort in the other direction. There was one other memorable meal to mention which was prepared for us right at the villa by a local Dominican chef named Louis. We purchased the fish and ingredients in town and he prepared a remarkable buffet spread and did the dishes as well! We highly recommend booking Louis for a meal or two."

  • Charming Villa in a great location with amazing staff

"We stayed at El Dorado the week prior to our wedding at Villa Del Mar , and a portion of our family rented the Villa for the week of our wedding. From the very start Elly the owner was amazing , she was beyond flexible in check in and out times, she was informative and helpful and a very genuine lady ( she even sent us a good luck and congrats email the day of our wedding ) The villa itself is fantastic , all four bedrooms have a private bathroom and all very roomy and comfortable. The pool area is stunning , the gardens were all lush and well kept. The pool was cleaned daily and was immaculate for our entire stay. Our housekeeper Anita was amazing, not only did she keep the villa immaculate , she would run to town for us when we ran out of coffee or beer and was always willing to help us with whatever we needed. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed and more. We would not hesitate to recommend El Dorado for anyone wanting to stay in Playa Coson."

  • Overall the house and property are beautiful but there are a few things that need to be worked on.

"The rooms are large and there is a wonderful large open kitchen. We found that the stools for the kitchen area were the wrong size and it made it difficult to sit at the counter. There was not much in the way of outdoor furniture. Adding a table and chairs would be wonderful so that you could sit by the pool. The hot water was being worked on when we got there by a very friendly staff that were helpful in every way. We ran out of toilet paper the second day and it was not restocked. It would be great if there was a binder that explained the rules of the house, local restaurants, who to contact in case something happens, and how to work certain things like the washing machine. The pool and location to the beach are fantastic. Please lock up every time you leave as we had $200 US dollars stolen from us when we went to the beach for a few hours with all the doors shut but not locked. Again, this would have been good to be aware of since it seems very safe with armed guard and guard to enter the area. I definitely recommend this house just hope that they improve a few things to make it better and safer."
