  • A month in Sousa

"The rental was perfect for us. Safe and within walking distance to beach, shops and grocery store. The condo was very nice and had everything we needed. We were not overly impressed with the internet connection which was slow. The staff and maintenance crew were very friendly. Thank you Enricho for helping us out when needed."

  • Great location

"We rented this condo for 7 days with our 2 teenagers. The best thing was the location and the price. It is as pictured, literally steps off a beautiful white, sandy beach. If you want location, this is the place for you. If you want service or amenities, this is not for you. We had everything we needed, dishes, beach towels, even shampoo/conditioner provided. There's a cooler so you can use to take to beach/pool. Water is under $2 for a large jug brought to your room when you need more. We did have to pay the extra for electricity as stated, which for us was $75 for a week, just running the AC in bedrooms at night only. The service here is basically non existent. The first day, I had to ask 4 different people to come unlock our safe, which had malfunctioned and locked our money and keys inside. Nobody came until the next day which was very frustrating! Aside from that, check in and check out were smooth. There's a "pool bar" which has horrible, extremely slow, limited service, so if you're looking for that convenience you'll be disappointed. we shopped at a grocery store for most of our food, and did eat at a couple restaurants within walking distance, which were good, albeit extremely slow also. Think that's how it is there. All in all, it was a good stay, the weather was great every day and our stay was relatively inexpensive for a beachside location. If you're just into relaxing and don't need a lot of extra frills or entertainment, then this place will be good for you. We did do a diving excursion to Saona Island with El Caribe tours and it was a great day! Gorgeous scenery, helpful staff, would recommend them."

  • Nice Apartment With Great Sea View

"The apartment is beautiful and well-maintained, and the photos posted are very accurate. It is located in a secure area of the capital and there is 24 hour security. The owner and the person who meet us to give us the key are very pleasant to deal with. Wi-Fi worked great. The only thing I missed was a big mirror, coverlets for the bed and better kitchen utensils. Other than that we have a wonderful stay. Muchas gracias Reynaldo y Rolando"

  • Good Value, Not Perfect

"The location is pretty good. Up the coast to the Northwest it seems to be more low-end; I saw the Bavaro Beach from a boat, which is Southeast of this property, and it looks a bit more upscale. The condos are secure. There is a market literally right across the street. All the people I dealt with were friendly and nice. There were a few things about the condo that were issues for us. The first night we turned on all the AC units and too many lights, and the power went out. This happened 3 times in a week. Wasn't a big deal because the breaker is right by the door and accessible. We just had to make sure not to use too much electricity at the same time (e.g., all AC units plus the washer or dryer, for example). The main bedroom A/C was not very cool. The rooms were well-sized, and I found the beds comfortable, and the condo generally clean upon arrival. The weirdest thing about the property is that the beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean comes with a sliding door that CANNOT be left unlocked. The design of the door itself does not have an unlocked setting. So, with 3 little kids running around, opening and closing that door, people got locked out, on the balcony, a few times. It creates the possibility that everyone in the condo could be locked out. Then you would be at the mercy of shouting at random passers-by for assistance. Our solution was to leave the window next to the door open just enough for emergency access when one of my kids would lock us out. You can reach the door hardware from the window without climbing in. There was no water cooler in the unit, but a large, cooler-sized & filled water container was included upon arrival. Other units we saw at other properties at least had a hand pump or an office-style cooler. I had to literally dump water into other containers from the large container. So you'd have to have someone strong enough to do that. The company renting this unit is Volato. The people are very nice, but you have to go and find them, or email them, or call them. But I expect this is typical. They are responsive. They did return my deposit, and there was no problem with the calculation of electricity use. I did like the location of the unit. I would consider staying here again."
