  • Loved this place!

"This was our first time in St. Maarten and we had a great time staying at Whispering Palms! The villa had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable: convenient parking, a fully equipped kitchen, two full bathrooms, two bedrooms, a cozy living room with a TV, a barbecue on a large balcony, WiFi, and AC. The location was very convenient – about 20 minutes away from the airport and minutes away from Guana Bay beach. It quickly felt like our ‘home away from home’. We enjoyed going to the nearby grocery stores and bringing things back to make our meals at the villa. The ocean view, which you can see from the parking lot, the balcony, and almost every window, is spectacular and the communal pool was beautiful and private. We liked that the villa wasn’t in a touristy location, yet we could get to any of the other beaches and tourist spots within 15-20 minutes. Eugene, the owner, was very helpful before and during the trip. He provided a detailed PDF booklet with directions to the villa and plenty of suggestions for where to eat, shop, and have fun. Everything we did was fun and memorable. The highlight of our trip was a six-hour tour around the island through Robinson Boat Tours. My friends and I would definitely go back to St. Maarten and to Whispering Palms. This was an excellent place to stay – safe, picturesque, and fun! Highly recommended!"

  • The Best of All Worlds!

"My husband and I were looking to celebrate our honeymoon in a comfortable, well-equipped, clean apartment that had a spectacular view, easy access to the beach and was within walking distance to restaurants and beach bars. We got all this and more! The owner Valerie was easy to work with and so accommodating; she went out of her way to see that we were taken care of and comfortable. The apartment is absolutely lovely - nicely and tastefully decorated and very clean. We spent an enormous time on the balcony enjoying the view - beginning with breakfast each morning and ending sometimes in the wee hours of the morning for a nightcap. There are many wonderful restaurants nearby and at least one very casual pub called Yellow Submarine. The bartender, JR, is full of personality and handles the tourists well. We met lots of interesting people from France, Ireland and the US. We were so blissfully happy in Orient Bay that we had to force ourselves to explore other areas of the island: Phillipsburg (skip it), Grand Case (worth a stop for lunch or dinner and a wander around), Marigot (lovely city, could have spent more time there), and some of the other beaches (Friar's Bay, Happy Bay, Anse Marcel - all gorgeous and worth seeing, but I didn't pick up the same cool, laid back, fun vibe that Orient Bay has). There is plenty to do/see and explore on the island, but we just never got around to it. Driving around can be a bit harrowing with the people on their motor scooters tearing around you on the road. Orient Bay is definitely on the quiet side, but it offered just enough of everything to make this couple very very happy! I would definitely return to this beautiful apartment and would highly recommend it."
