  • Beautiful Home Perfect Vacation

"We spent 11 days in this beautiful home on our first trip to the Virgin Islands. Sopra Mare is absolutely beautiful. Mulley certainly knows how to build them. The views from all rooms is picture perfect. The house has everything you need from beach chairs and coolers for a great day on the beach, to all the kitchen appliances to fix a great meal. We spent dinners out but also cooked a bunch on the grill and enjoyed lots of time chilling in the pool. Wi-Fi worked great so it was nice to plug into the Bose speaker and listen to music and relax on the balcony with a glass of wine. Our kids really enjoyed the home and missed nothing from home. AC at night in the bedrooms was nice, but the evening with all the doors opened and the breeze from the ocean made you really feel the Island life. Mulley was great in responding to any questions we had prior to our trip, and had some great suggestions. Reading his blog was a great way to plan a few beach days. All recommendations were fantastic. We will be back Mulley, and thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us. oh and remember KEEP LEFT!!"

  • one of the very best vacations we've ever had!

"Our family of 5 (two adults and 3 very finicky teenagers!) stayed a week at Coconut Bay Condos. We were in Unit 101. The place was simply beautiful! Duncan, the owner, was absolutely wonderful to work with. The condo was perfect and exceeded our expectations! Great working kitchen where we cooked and ate each day before heading out for our daily activities, great dining room for a leisurely game of cards to wind down the day, and full living room with satellite TV for late nights. The bedrooms were perfectly appointed and the washer/dryer on the second floor was a definite plus! The third floor master bedroom was HUGE! We are now spoiled and will never stay in a hotel again. The location of the condo is perfect for those who want to snorkel/dive, with the reef right in your backyard. There is a small "beach" to just relax and get some sun. The two pools on property were clean and great way to end the day after returning home. Located down the block from the Turtle Farm, Dolphin Cove Swim and about a mile walk to Hell, where my kids sent novelty postcards to all their friends back in the States. There's a great outdoor restaurant next door called Makabuka, where we enjoyed a drink and some fresh conch every evening. There is also a fancier restaurant in front of Makabuka called the Cracked Conch, which is more formal. (I think they are the same owners). Great way to end the day. There is a Dive company in the complex, and they will arrange a private boat for snorkeling, diving, fishing, etc. Shaggy and Dominic were simply the best! Dominic took us to his "private" snorkeling spot near Rum Point and it was truly amazing. You can catch a public bus right in front of the condo complex and for a few extra $$, the driver will take you door to door. It is a safe and affordable way to get around the island, but be prepared as there's really no set bus schedule and they are sporadic. However, the bus drivers could not be more pleasant or welcoming. The complex is about a 10 minute ride to Seven Mile Beach and a 5 minute ride to Fosters, a huge supermarket. Simply put, this was quite possibly our best family vacation ever, and we have traveled quite extensively. I don't know what could have made it better and I want to thank Duncan, Shaggy and Dominic for their help in making this vacation so awesome!!!!"

  • wonderful

"Our family really enjoyed your beautiful home. It is centrally located to all things San Juan . Even when going to the attractions across the island like the rain forest - the interstate is close by."

  • Perfect home, on a perfect beach, on a perfect island!

"My wife and I stayed at Cayo Loco from 4/30/16 - 5/7/16, and i'm already looking to go back. LOCATION: The home is centrally located on the island, which is perfect if you plan to explore the island and enjoy the isolated beaches. It's a 5-10 minute right from GHB airport, easy to get to (turn into Sky Beach Resort and drive towards the ocean and make a left on "Banks Rd", cay loco is 1/4 mile away). It is conveniently located near Gov Harbour which has every grocery, gas, cash and alcohol necessity. Cayo Loco has 3 homes on the property, the beach front bungalows are called Sand Dollar (where we stayed) and Apocolypso, although next to each other, the manicured vegetation makes for nice privacy HOME: Sand Dollar is neatly appointed with every amenity you need from spices, utensils, pots/pans, oven, dishwasher, ice cube trays/ice packs, wifi, satellite TV (NY stations local). Maureen is a great host and is very informative, listen to her advice; everyone on the island knows her and helps you. The locals are all kind and treat everyone nicely. The beach in front of the home is perfect, a quick walk down a flight of stairs and your on the beautiful beach which has 3 separate reefs great for snorkling. My advice to anyone is rent a durable 4x4 with sufficient ground clearance, a Jeep Wrangler is perfect. Other than Queens Highway, the roads are rough and difficult to travel but worth it, the nicest beaches are the hardest to get to. Bring strong bug repellent, we had quite a few bites but it was manageable with deet based spray. My wife and I are 32 from NJ, we wanted to "get off the grid" but have some of the conveniences of home and Cayo Loco is the perfect medium, absolutely perfect home thats well maintained by a gracious host. RESTAURANTS: Rainbow Inn on pizza night (Monday) is a must (NJ has the best pizza and I was impressed with the food). Pascals is very convenient with great food, close to Cayo Loco and they have great food. Govenours Harbour fish fry on Friday is great, everyone comes out and drinks/parties. LeoRose beachfront restaurant in James Cistern is amazing, stop there if headed north. Hiring Jeremy and Anna is worth it, they come to the home and make an amazing dinner from locally sourced food."
