  • John and Marian

"Spent 6 days in this beautiful home reconnecting with old friends. The owners obviously take great pride in their home...the landscaping, attention to detail, decks with tremendous views and well supplied cabinets proves that. The view of coral bay is spectacular. Nearby beaches and coves for snorkeling are second to none. Friday night at Skinny Legs with good food, drinks, music and dancing is not to be missed. The view from the deck, the comfort of the home and it's furnishings combined with the snorkeling and nearby beaches as well as visits to the nearby ruins of sugar plantations combine to give a memorable vacation. We would highly recommend Lagoon Point as a place to relax and get to know St John. Should we have the opportunity to return to St John, Lagoon Point would be our first choice."

  • Amazing Ocean View

"This a great condo right on the beach. The owner has it stocked with everything you need. The bed linens were luxurious and comfortable and everything was very clean. They have a double parking space under the building - very convenient. The Wyndham hotel next door was very busy because of the holiday season but the pools and beach in front of the condo were never crowded. Plenty of chairs were available. (And nice beach towels in the condo too!) The hotel had an absolutely incredible fireworks display for New Year's Eve. They also had a $155/ person party. As this was a family trip with a child, we opted for dinner in the hotel at Shima and watched the fireworks from the condo balcony. Service and food at the hotel restaurants: Shima - excellent, Marbella - horrible, Palio - great food, horrible service, Coffee bar - great pastries, long lines. Antijotes Restaurant(at the bottom of the hill as you leave the resort) was very good - try the Mofongo. Baleaneario Monserratte beach at Liquillo was fun - dine at the Kioskos. We also went horseback riding through the rain forest at Carballo's and zip lining at Jungleaqui - both nearby and highly recommended. Super fun trip and we hope to return!"

  • Island sanctuary and luxury style

"This house is gorgeous and nestled snugly at the end of Deck Point Road with a western exposure ensuring a beautiful sunset every night which you can enjoy relaxing in the beautiful infinity pool. I can't speak highly enough about the owner and staff here--- they made sure we had what we needed and were available at all hours (which wasn't necessary during our stay but hey...good to know). The villa is stocked with basics and the housekeeper had everything we asked for ready for us upon arrival (thanks, Mary!). We spent much of our time on the outside deck or in the pool and it was breathtaking! Looking over some of the reviews here I feel the need to relay my experiences on some of the topics. We had no problem with the fridge keeping things cold. There were 6 of us (all 18 or older) and went in and out as we normally would with no issues. We kept drinks in ice chests in the kitchen as opposed to the fridge which made it that much easier when we wanted a cold one. The driveway is steeper than most are accustomed to. So? It's not like it is full of Ohio ice. I had no problem walking up and down even with 5 bags of groceries. This is a non factor unless you are truly physically limited. Being from Ohio I prefer generally cool temperatures. The air conditioning units are in all of the bedrooms and would get each room quite chilly (if you want them to be that way) while we slept. Perfect for me. There is no air in the main living space and, I have to admit, that made necessary many refreshing dips in the infinity pool. But listen----you're in the Caribbean! It is hot! I guarantee you the view from the balcony will more than make up for the lack of 70 degree temps in the living room! Gentle breezes and starlit nights beckon. It was a 20 minute walk to Cowpet Bay Beach. Other beaches are easy driving distances. Our big dilemma before we booked was do we want to be on the beach or up higher with beautiful views---take it from me the pictures you take from the balcony of Sans Sou Sea will be forever etched in your mind. This is an amazing villa. We are truly blessed that the owner has opened up his house to guests and would recommend this spot to anyone asking. The memories will last forever and the beauty will never fade. Do yourself a favor and experience island life at Sans Sou Sea!"

  • Gorgeous Views from this Condo in Maho!

"My husband and I stayed in this unit for 3 weeks over Christmas. The pictures of the unit are accurate. The size was plenty big enough for the two of us, it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioner worked fine. We did go and purchase 2 pillows as the pillows there were flat. Note that the description says that it is a “Lock Out” unit. There is a hollow interior door next to the small table for 2, so you can hear the people next door and smell their food when they cook (if there are renters in there). The bathroom was large, however, we had NO hot water for the first few days, of course when the property manager came, twice, there was hot water surprisingly! Apparently the hotel next door “Alegria” was working on the water lines or something, which affected the building that we were in. Given that there is a non-working elevator, this unit is on the 4th floor, so you get plenty of exercise in with all the stairs! There is also no internet service and you had to go over to the Alegria to use their Wi-Fi. We knew this going in, so it was not a problem for us. The views from the balcony were the best thing about this location!! We enjoyed watching the planes (it was always quiet after 6pm ish) and the cruise ships and large yachts!! We rented a car the entire time and explored the entire island! We took long walks to Simpson Bay; Mullet Bay; Cupecoy… Our favorite area of St. Maarten was Cupecoy! There is an excellent grocery store (Grand Marche) and next to that was an area that had several restaurants. We went to a few of those, which were excellent! We also liked having a couple of our breakfasts at the Green Monkey, which is located at one of the resorts or hotels in Cupecoy – they have a sign at the entrance! Note though that they are cash only! Good food though… We drove over to Marigot on the French side and took the ferry over to Anguilla for a day. We walked to the airport (15 minute walk vs. paying parking at the airport) and took a Winair flight over to St. Barts for a day. It was about $50 more to do this vs. the Edge ferry from Simpson Bay, so it was worth the extra money to take a 10 minute flight vs. a 45 minute ferry ride to St. Barts!! These were great trips!! Overall, we loved St. Maarten and we are returning in November 2016, but we will be staying in Cupecoy!"
