  • Great Location

"We had a fantastic time at Phillipe & Dora's Place. Everything is very nice & clean. It is located up the hill from La Vista so it is a short drive or walk to Peli-Deli & the Beach. Very Safe as it is a gated property. The Host's are great people to work with & they made sure we had everything. I will stay here again."

  • Absolute Privacy in a Gorgeous Location

"I did a LOT (way too much, really) of research on which island to visit & where to stay, & I am thrilled that I chose so well. St. John, particularly Coral Bay, is a very special place & resonated with me well. Surf Sound Cottage was the perfect place for me to spend the 1st 3 nights of my trip. Denise was wonderfully communicative, & offers every little thing that one could want or need in her lovely cottage. She's got a great sundeck as well as a covered porch, & the views are incredible. She provides thoughtful extras like Roku TV (you can watch Netflix through it on the TV), DVDs, an I-home stereo, a calling card & phone for guest use (very helpful since my Verizon phone doesn't work in St. John, & I think NO cell phone works at her cottage), a washer/dryer & clothes line, an outdoor shower, everything you'll need in the kitchen, extra bug spray (an absolute MUST!!), A/C in the bedroom, and beach towels. The house did get VERY hot each day & night but the bedroom was cool when I slept with the A/C on. The King sized bed was comfy, & is different from the one pictured. Her couch & chair that are pictured have been replaced with 2 recliners that were comfortable. The Internet worked surprisingly fast. I would highly recommend that you rent a car on St. John instead of St. Thomas. I had a 3 hour flight delay & missed the last car barge ferry for the night, so you could get stuck on St. Thomas with your car if that happens. Also, if you rent on St. John you can park for free in the lot in Cruz Bay (otherwise parking is difficult & pricey there). The driveway for this cottage is particularly gnarly (like most roads on St. John) & I never really got used to it, but be warned you MUST have 4WD. Enjoy St. John, & do yourself a favor--stay at Surf Sound Cottage!"

  • You will never top this place

"Hummingbird house is in a perfect location with excellent views out to st Kitts. The house itself is wonderful - very spacious and light with all mod cons, not to mention also beautifully furnished. The outside space has a lovely decked area with pool and bbq, which was perfect when chilling out watching the monkeys in the trees. Richard and Claire were excellent hosts, recommending once in a lifetime hidden gems to visit and advising the best times to book certain restaurants and trips. Their advice really meant we could make the most out of our holiday as we felt seasoned visitors before even leaving the house and would have missed out on the many unique and amazing experiences Nevis has to offer without them. They really made us feel welcome and that hummingbird was to be used as a home from home - if only our house was as special as Hummingbird! Nevis itself is a beautiful and completely unique place. The island is full of character and served up some of the best food we have ever experienced. Wash it down with a rum punch or Carib was simply perfect! We can't wait to visit again, although staying anywhere else wouldn't be an option."

  • Will return!

"We just got back from a 5 night stay in this lovely apartment on the beach. It shows exactly as advertised. The water is that blue! We were met by the property manager Anna promptly and she settled us in quickly. From back to front: The bathroom is nicely appointed. Plenty of room to play or hang things. Good hair dryer. The bedroom has lots of drawers a very good A/C. It has sliding glass doors leading to the kitchen/sitting/lanai area. You can pull the black out curtains, or pull them back and enjoy the view. The kitchen has almost everything you want. I could not find the blender. Fridge was very cold and make ice quickly. The lanai is just like in the picture. No, its way better. Starting the day on it drinking coffee was perfect. Location/location/location It doesn't get better in Grande Case. Its a little outside the main village, but this means the beach is less crowded and wider too. Its a lot quieter too. You can walk to town on the beach or along the road. Or you can take Johny's shuttle at night. Highly recommended!!!! Johnny arrives in a lit up golf cart. for $5, ( $2 a head plus tip) he drives you town for dinner, and all the restaurants know him, so they will call him to take you back home. Everybody loves Johnny. You will too. His number is on the fridge. Dial +590 then the number in French St. Martin. Restaurant Rec: The dinning is out o this world. Rainbow is much better than you would guess. It looks like a bar. Villa Royale across form the Lolo's is the best secret. Upscale local food. 1/2th the price of the French restaurants. Try the grilled Conch. Amazing! While between the bakery (pizzas are excellent) and the local grocers you can put together food and drink for your stay. The supermarket and wine store in Hope Estates near Orient are far better. Robert and Kristen and Anna are quality people. Wish we were on our way back."
