  • STUNNING views in a tropical, lush and casual setting! We would definitely rent again!

"The great: We had a fantastic visit to St Lucia and thoroughly enjoyed Soufriere in particular. Beautiful place, beautiful people – we will definitely be back. The views from this home are spectacular!!!! We spent a large percentage of our time just marveling at the majestic Pitons, enjoying sunsets and identifying the diversity of the plants, flowers and birds living on the property. The house is open-air and feels very tropical. We were serenaded to sleep by frogs at night and even enjoyed a few lovely rainstorms. There is no air conditioning at the house, but we were never too hot as there are nice winds and fans in every room. The furniture is comfortable as were the beds and bedding. Ann and Cheryl were very nice and the food they made for us was very good. It’s such a treat to go on vacation and let go of all the daily chores. Nancy was easy to deal with and answered all my questions. We arranged for Popo’s to drive us to/from the airport and to get around during our stay (he’d even drop us off and pick us up later) which was very nice. The not so good: The electrical was wonky and fried our baby monitor even though we were using a high-end convertor. We ended up only plugging things in when we could watch them and take them off if it got too hot. Many lights didn’t work and seemed to be wired incorrectly. This concerned me because the only way to lock up the house at night is to pad lock yourself in with a different key for each lock. I slept with the keys in my pillow and unplugged anything that seemed dangerous because I was worried about getting out quickly should there be a fire. The wi-fi was terrible because the router is broken - a simple, inexpensive fix. There isn’t enough furniture on the balconies and various outdoor spaces. The pool was extremely dirty and we had to clean it ourselves before we were able to use it. There were also several cigarette buts on the balcony - yuck. While this is a tropical, open home, there were a lot of bugs. We were fastidious in cleaning up food scraps, but we saw quite a few roaches. While it's not possible to avoid this entirely, it might be time for a visit from an exterminator. The ceiling fan in the MBR was very loud and wobbly - an easy fix. More towels in the bathrooms would also be nice. While many of these things are small and definitely wouldn’t prevent me from referring the house, a few easy fixes would make this property more in keeping with a “luxury” rental in this price point."

  • The best stay ever!

"Only a couple of things I would change, one of the bar handles into the pool was extremely loose, I nearly fell onto the side of the pool. Made sure my 82 year old mother didn't use it. Also it seems the iguana swims in the pool at some point because there was always poop in the pool and around the pool every morning. The owner is awesome, very attentive to our needs and requests. The condo was everything that the previous reviews mentioned."

  • Met my expectations

"The condo on the 6th floor of the Ocean Sixteen villa complex inside the Wyndam Rio Mar Resort met my expectations. We had a party of 7 adults and there was plenty of room - dining table could seat 10, long sofa, seating outside and very comfortable beds. Views from every room were fantastic! There were plenty of towels but make sure to pack/buy living essentials because it is self-catered and the soap/shampoos were small hotel size. There is a sand bar off the beach so the water was not as clear blue as I would have liked and the beaches are sandy brown - not pristine white beaches. The resort staff does clean the beaches which is good because once you step past the resort property the beaches have litter. We did take advantage of the chairs and umbrellas in front of the Wyndam and ate 3 meals there. Lunch poolside was the best. The reason I cannot give it a fifth star is because there were a few bugs in the kitchen and the hot-tub at the complex was not working. We used the one next door at the Ocean Villas. Also know that the BBQ grill is at the first building, not at yours (the second)."
