  • Loved everything about it!

"Photos don't do it justice! Everything about it was clean and maintained. Owner and manager provide excellent service. I would highly recommend and would plan to return if I get the chance. We came for the beaches and had a fantastic time. Really enjoyed starting our day and coming home to the pool and hot tub."

  • Our home away from home

"We first visited the "our villa" 10 years ago for our honeymoon, coming with our two kids (adolescent) and my BFF. 10 years have flown by (and the kids just about grown) and we all came back to celebrate and it felt like we had never left – it felt like our island home. We have only been back to reality 2 days and we constantly are looking back at our pictures and dreaming of being back there -- overlooking the breathtaking view of Coral Bay, hearing the cockadoodle-doo of the roosters and the hee-hawing of the donkeys each morning, and looking up at the crystal clear starry sky every night. It was great (and a money saver) being able to cook our own meals every day, including lunches to take to the beach (the house has dishes and things necessary for cooking as well as many of the minor things like condiments -- we brought additional things with us from home, trying to limit our purchases at the grocery store on St. John to perishables perishables – Starfish Market in Cruz Bay or Love City Market really close to the villa). Since we cooked in for most dinners, we had limited experiences with restaurants, but of course, we went to Skinny Legs, just across from Sea Grape Road, as well as the Tourist Trap (a fun place, like a food truck, on the way back from Lameshur Bay. My BFF and her husband had a good experience at Indigo Grill before we got there. We ran out of time and missed out on Caribbean Oasis which was on our list to try). We loved having beach chairs and towels at our disposal for our daily trips to the various local beaches (our tip -- check the schedule for cruise ships in St. Thomas and save going to Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay for days they are NOT in port - it was great!... Maho Bay is another great one... Waterlemon Bay (via hike) is not as beachy and has great snorkeling, but more of a current to be mindful of; Little Lameshur Bay was also nice and a little secret/privately owned beach on the East End - Hansen Bay that charges a small fee to get in). Having a washing machine and dryer at the house helped immensely, allowing us to pack less, clearing room in our suitcases for the non-perishable food we brought on the way down, and souvenirs and rum to bring home! I'm sure there is so much more I could say, but this is a wonderful place to stay! Charlie and Chris are great to work with and very responsive (and I love how they allowed payment through PayPal!). We hope to book again for our 20th anniversary, if not much sooner!!!"

  • The Secret? Location, Location, Location

"Absolutely the best location in Cherokee Sound for 1 or 2 couples or a small family. This clean and well appointed 2BR house is the closest property to the 'Long Dock' which appears to be the best known amenity of Cherokee Sound. The front porch and both BRs look out on the dock and the large sand flat it sits on. The water is shallow and the sand smooth making it ideal for kids, relaxed bathing, beach combing, or in our case, a bit of bone fishing. Bikes, kayaks and all accessories are stored neatly in the shed out back. The boat, if rented, is moored out front and is useful for accessing other close by flats and beaches. This is a quiet little town with 1 store and a marina, both within easy walking distance. Plan to bring and cook your own meals in the tidy kitchen. Bring your own adult beverages. Pete's Pub is 10 minutes up the road if you want a break but you probably won't if well supplied. The house is private and yet right in the center of town - center for visitors that is. The 200 meter long dock is the perfect seaside amenity and it feels like yours. The owner is local and was responsive to all requests. Perfect location for a quiet getaway. Did I say it was in the best location in town? It really is. We will be back!"
