  • More than we expected

"I have to say that our hosts are very gracious. Jim picked us up at the airport and then showed us around town before taking us to our place. When we walked into our waterfront studio we were stunned. It was beautiful and very spacious. Our hosts further provided a cell phone with numbers already on the phone. They also provided the transportation upon leaving to the airport. This was more than generous of them to take the time with this. The studio has a full kitchen, with living room area available. Laundry facilities right on site in fact just out your door. The bed and bedding are clean and comfortable. There is a queen bed, one single and a double futon. You will have a private deck or you can sit out on the pier and lounge or swim. They provide beach towels, kayaks, bicycles, and it has a safe for your valuables. While we were there the birds were nesting and we had their music to wake up to with baby birds leaving their nests. ( A little noisy but we enjoyed) It is only minutes to downtown but I would suggest that you get a cart if you are going to go to town often especially if it is during the day (between 9 am and 5pm) It is very hot. We walked (which is not far or hard) but if you do that make sure to do it early or later in the afternoon when the sun is going down. And take your water.... The views from the deck or pier are of the canal and mangroves it is a beautiful setting to just enjoy. We actually only went to town if needed for groceries, eating out, or on a trip. We spent a couple of days just lounging on the pier. Truly restful. The sunsets are spectacular. We were there during Easter weekend and thankfully this property is not located in the downtown area, so downtown noise does not disturb your peace. Make sure to have your bug spray because early morning or at dusk the no see ums and the mosquitoes come out. But to be truthful we did not suffer from them too much. It was about 20 minute walk to Yoli's where we caught DaytripperDan for the catamaran snorkeling trip. About 10 minute walk to the M&M gas station to catch Barebones Monkey River trip with Percy And we were picked up and dropped off at our personal pier by Mark from Cayequest for a snorkeling trip to Pumpkin Caye How could it get any better than that. Trust me when I say this was a gem of a place and I truly appreciate the care our hosts took in our welfare. I hope to go back again. Thank you Jim and Cindy for a fabulous vacation...."

  • If I could give 100 stars I would!

"I write this review back in reality, missing the dream that is Sandcastle Villa so very much. This house is everything and more. Beautifully decorated, sparkling clean (and kept this way every day!), located on as close to a private beach as you could ever hope to have, full of all the comforts of a fine resort- this is the ultimate dream getaway. The owners of the home were lovely to work with- they are prompt in responding with any details or specifics you may need, and went out of their way to ensure we were completely taken care of while we rented their home. Mercedes and Maria, the two wonderful ladies who keep the villa spotless and the guests so happy, are two of the most wonderful, hardworking, and kind people I've ever had the privileged to know. If you are considering hiring a private chef- look no further than Mercedes! She is immensely talented in the kitchen and kept us overly full and completely impressed with her fine island cooking. They made our stay even better with their impeccable service and lovely dispositions. I could go on and on, but instead I will just say this: if you are looking for a villa to rent on the island, RENT THIS ONE! If you are thinking of booking at one of Anguilla's lovely hotels or resorts (as we have done many times in the past) DON'T! RENT THIS VILLA! You will not be sorry. There's absolutely nothing else like it. We will most certainly be back just as soon as possible."

  • Spring Break and Family vacation

"We were met by Isabelle at the entrance of the gated community. I appreciated the fact that she went thru the home with my husband and I before turning the keys over to us. It is a beautiful home, not far from the airport and settled in a lagoon. You can trust the pictures posted. We spent a lot of time in the pool, took the kayaks out one day and ate on the terrace every chance we got. Plenty to do in the area.......Sunset Beach, Karakter Beach, just to name a few. I recommend the grocery store on the French side of the island which took about 10 minutes to get to. It was a relaxing week, great weather and I would recommend this home."

  • Awesome place to stay

"Ever since we started planning for our trip to Puerto Rico, we kept checking for good place. We did come across few but were not convinced as the reviews were skeptic. This place had a great reviews and we liked the photos shown. When we landed in the apartment, it was as shown on the photos. It had a beautiful view. It was more like beach was in our backyard. We were welcomed with a wine bottle. We stayed for 6 days. Kitchen had all amenities and the house was well maintained. This place is close to Old San Juan city and to airport. All these activities like jet ski, parasailing are close to the apartment .We thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely recommend to our friends too."
