"Great ocean view from this top floor condo of a three story building, which is the closest to the beach of the six connected buildings in Club St. Croix. Very private balcony, loft bedroom with recently updated master bathroom, second bathroom on kitchen/living room level, comfortable furniture and bed, with all the necessary cooking supplies in the kitchen. AC in the loft bedroom, but we liked the ocean breezes, which the north shore gets most of the time. The owner, Lynn, was very accommodating, easy to deal with, and answered any questions we had.
The beach is clean with palapas and lounge chairs; the pool and hot tub were also clean and never crowded. There is some sea grass off the beach, but you can walk out where it's sparse and swim. You can also walk west on the beach for quite a ways, but it's not all soft sand. We ate at the on site restaurant next to the pool ("Breezez") our first and last nights and enjoyed our meals. The drinks during their Happy Hour from 4 - 7 were very inexpensive!
Club St. Croix was quiet and seemed very safe with a guard who walks around the property with a dog. The property is also quite close to Christiansted, which had some great restaurants, shops and the fort to visit. Two grocery stores are also close by. We rented a car at the airport and drove all over the island, which was easy and fun! Some of the best beaches are on the west coast near Frederiksted (where cruise ships dock), but Christiansted seemed like a nicer town and there are some nice beaches on the north shore, too. St. Croix has some great snorkeling and scuba diving sites, as well as lots of interesting and fun places to visit, like Buck Island (we went on the all day sail with Caribbean Sea Adventures, who we'd recommend - they had less people and sailed most of the time), Point Udall (easternmost point in the US), Sandy Point Beach (only open Sat & Sun), Hams Bluff lighthouse (nice hike to the lighthouse with great views), the west coast beaches, Cane Bay Beach (esp. for snorkeling and diving), Chenay Bay, Cramer Park Beach, Salt River Bay (Columbus Landing), Mt. Pellier Hut Domino Club with beer drinking pigs, Estate Little Princess (easy path up from the beach west of Club St. Croix) and Estate Mt. Washington (to name a few). We would definitely go back and would rent again from Lynn - thanks for the great place to explore the island from! We had a blast!"
